Due to the lockdown, many houses are doing virtual tours.

Who doesn't love Rightmove?

I think the humour whizzed roughy past ya there @StillCoughingandLaughing Wink

Humour? 🤨

Sparklesocks · 16/05/2020 13:18

@StillCoughingandLaughing

Thanks for explaining how rightmove works as if I didn’t know...no I obviously don’t believe that, it was just a silly lighthearted comment about Mega rich people not needing access to a station in the same way commuters do. Apologies, I’ll ensure to check with you in future before posting something tongue in cheek.

goingoverground · 16/05/2020 13:26

It was this place, @PerfidiousAlbion. It looks so much more normal in the photos than in real life. If you look in the bottom right corner of picture 5/43 on expedia, you will see the delightful wire, flower-shaped condom holder provided in each room.

The hotel is located on a industrial estate of luxury car showrooms and the only access to rooms is via your private underground garage. Each room has it's own "special facilities," like a plunge pool or a pool table. Ours had a mahjong room (with bar), a fully equipped formal dining room and sitting room (with a selection of serious Chinese business media for the gents and magazines about kittens, puppies and bunnies for the laydeez), a sun room filled with fake rocks and paper parasols and a glass courtyard in the middle of the open plan bathroom with a 6 foot champagne flute filled with gold tinsel and a model of Big Ben. There was also a glass-sided disco hot tub for 4 and the biggest TV you have ever seen in a room with a glass wall overlooking a garden enclosed by 3 other rooms with a view straight into their bedrooms and... ahem.. of all the action...

The one facility the room didn't have was a wardrobe or anywhere to put your clothes or luggage, just 2 coat pegs...

I am not entirely sure what the google translated guest guide was offering but we did understand that there were some "special services" available and the hotel was checked daily for spy cameras but we weren't allowed to film "activities" in the rooms.

It looks like they have spruced the building up a bit since we stayed there. When we were there it looked like a cross between a B&Q warehouse and an underground car park, no signage, windowless and doorless on the outside, just a drive in entrance, no lobby, restaurant, bar or even any pedestrian access, and it was all grey concrete and fluorescent strip lighting.

Funko · 16/05/2020 14:06

@Camsie30 imagine the efforts involved to keep those ceilings cobweb free!

Fallsballs · 16/05/2020 14:22

As an aside - how would you keep a glass bath clean ? You couldn’t Cif it and what happened if it scratched. I also think they’d look grubby with all the metal and black around.
I am taking this very seriously.

Sparklesocks · 16/05/2020 14:26

@Fallsballs I’m glad someone is asking the big questions

ProtectAll · 16/05/2020 14:27

I spend a lot of time on rightmove planning my future purchases, not quite as much as I spend on here, but too much to be healthy!

Firstly I want to move to a large house in the same area as I live, nothing under 1.5mill and it needs to have the correct rooms/layout, have good transport links, be safe for my many cats and have an area to keep my dogs. Plus it has to be easy to maintain and I want a garden but not acres of land!

Then there is my retirement property, has to have all the above plus be within walking distance to the beach and a good pub. Budget for this goes up to £5 mill

Or on days when I think that my lottery win isn’t going to happen! I like to look at properties that are just under what my current house would sell for but with character and by the sea.

iusedtoloveopalfruits1 · 16/05/2020 14:31

Kljnmw3459 No port glasgow is not!

Connie222 · 16/05/2020 14:34

I’ve found the house I’m going to buy when I win the lottery. Never been to the area before so it will be a gamble. But even if I didn’t like the area, I’d be happy in my fuck off big house.

It does look haunted though. I’d have a priest in there before I turned up.

JassyRadlett · 16/05/2020 14:53

@Fallsballs and it’s London so serious limescale issues.

@Luaa Think of the fingerprints.

Luaa · 16/05/2020 14:59

Ah yes, I'd obviously need to employ a full time cleaner/housekeeper who spent at least half of their time cleaning the glass

StillCoughingandLaughing · 16/05/2020 16:31

Apologies, I’ll ensure to check with you in future before posting something tongue in cheek.

Alright, calm down. It’s amazing how many people who claim their posts are ‘tongue in cheek’ or ‘lighthearted’ get really quite shitty with anyone not taking it that way.

JassyRadlett · 16/05/2020 16:35

@StillCoughingandLaughing, for the avoidance of doubt, the comments about vacuuming and fingerprints were tongue in cheek too. We know that if we could afford a £40m house we could afford a cleaner. Grin

StillCoughingandLaughing · 16/05/2020 16:47

Sides literally splitting.

Sparklesocks · 16/05/2020 17:12

@StillCoughingandLaughing Oh relax, you just seemed to take great pleasure in smugly explaining why I was wrong about something despite it being quite obvious to everyone else I wasn’t serious, so I was correcting you. Hope that enormous stick up your arse isn’t bothering you too much.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 16/05/2020 17:25

Read that back to yourself and see how you sound. See if you’re pleased.

Anyway, houses. I grew up in Sutton Coldfield and would put money on the house with the arcade belonging or having belonged to a Villa player. Loads of them lived on that estate.

PerfidiousAlbion · 16/05/2020 17:50

@goingoverground good god. It needs renaming to shagpadbigdong!

I love how it states that it’s family friendly because it has a fridge.

pandarific · 16/05/2020 20:56

£2.5 million in one of the best regency squares in brighton, but... the decor. Why is everything brown?!

pandarific · 16/05/2020 21:06

Your own island and a beautiful house, all for 5.5m euro. This is the one I want, definitely.

JassyRadlett · 16/05/2020 21:32

I’m in pandarific, though I was on the fence until I saw the helipad.

Funko · 16/05/2020 22:01

They would need to guarantee high speed broadband access before I'm in Grin
