If you were awake then why does it matter?

bluestarsatnightfall · 10/05/2020 08:18

First thing I do once up is open my bedroom curtains, even if I do go back to bed at all.

Oysterbabe · 10/05/2020 08:18

We're you awake or still trying to sleep?

dontdisturbmenow · 10/05/2020 08:18

Just pull them back close if you want to get back to bed. Sounds like a lot of drama for nothing at this time.

Northernsoullover · 10/05/2020 08:19

I'm with him 'carpe diem' and all that. I hate curtains closed in the day.

Justkeepswimmingdory · 10/05/2020 08:22

My husband used to do this but stopped after being told off so many times. He would do it on the winter mornings when it was dark and we had the lights on so everyone could potentially see in while we were getting ready! I couldnt understand why you would do that. I used to go round and close all the curtains he had opened Hmm

Rezie · 10/05/2020 08:25

I thibk it's fine if you were already awake. It's a shit move If you were still trying to get some sleep.

MamaKarmaLlama · 10/05/2020 08:26

Do you think lockdown might be getting to you? Wink

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 10/05/2020 08:27

I hate curtains closed in the day

It was 7am!

pretzele · 10/05/2020 08:35

I really don't like being blinded by sunlight whilst I'm still led in bed.

Bananacloud · 10/05/2020 08:35

I’ve been up since 6 and my curtains are still closed due to being tired and the bright daylight hurts my eyes. Thank god it’s meant to be a miserable day. It’ll match my mood 😭

Ginfordinner · 10/05/2020 08:35

Jealous that you have sunshine. Today it is grey and cloudy with a maximum of 9 degrees where I live.

dontdisturbmenow · 10/05/2020 08:37

If O) went down to make a cuppa, it is fair to assume that she was indeed awake!

babayjane67 · 10/05/2020 08:38

Thanks Bernadette!
Yes it was 7am!
Yea I was awake but so what? It's still a quiet Sunday morning, our DD is still sound asleep, nobody else is around why open them??
No mama lockdown isn't getting to me.Im quite enjoying being home with my dd&spending more time with her, even if getting her to do some school work is a bit stressful at times.
Dp is still working as he's a key worker, driving a lorry delivering food for a well known supermarket.its his day off today.
He just does my head in so many ways! He's good in some, don't get me wrong but I sometimes wish I was single& it quite often feels like that to be honest.

I open mine at 5/6am if its light!

Mustardfan · 10/05/2020 08:46

Forgive me if I have misunderstood, but it sounds like your H opened the curtains without realizing that you preferred to have them closed, so if you calmly said to him at some point, I’d prefer to have the curtains closed for a while on a Sunday morning, would he agree? Do you both stay in the bedroom once you are both awake? Personally I prefer to have the curtains open once I’m awake and there is some evidence that exposure to the blue light in the mornings lifts your mood. I’m not clear if you actually wanted to go back to sleep?

Tumbleweed101 · 10/05/2020 08:47

I’m the opposite and open them as soon as I wake up and intend to stay awake, even if that’s just being in bed. I like to see daytime.

My daughter is driving me mad by never opening hers at the moment , even in the middle of the day, but I do leave her alone with it, aside from a disapproving motherly comment 🤣.

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 10/05/2020 08:48

I open mine as soon as we wake up to try to get rid of his farty smell (can't possibly be me)

1066vegan · 10/05/2020 08:49

If he'd woken you up by pulling the curtains open then he'd have been srlfish and out of order. Ditto opening the curtains in the winter when it's dark, you have to have the light on and anybody can see in.

But you'd gone down to make a cuppa so were clearly awake. Sunny so no lights on. Poor bloke did nothing wrong.

Where are those posters with all the sunshine? I'm in the South East, been up since just after 6 and so far it's just been overcast.

Tiredmumssquad · 10/05/2020 08:51

I open my blinds and window as soon as I'm up so 7am this morning

babayjane67 · 10/05/2020 08:55

Mustard I have said to him before about not opening the curtains early but it just seems to fall on deaf ears.
The weather's lovely here at mo.alot better than they said&feels warmer than they said it's be.

RoscoePColtrane · 10/05/2020 08:58

I have no curtains up at my bedroom window as it is not overlooked and I find I wake up better. Having said that, I would have been cross too in your position.

MrsRogerLima · 10/05/2020 08:58

It's very selfish if you were trying to sleep. Who is he to decide if you should be up or not?

HeddaGarbled · 10/05/2020 08:59

He likes the curtains open on a lovely sunny morning, you don’t. No one is in the wrong. This is just the normal give and take of any relationship. You were unreasonable for moaning at him.

babayjane67 · 10/05/2020 09:03

It now sounds like he's washing up already! I'm still in bed with, just finished my second cuppa&our DD has just got up &coming in with me so we haven't had brekky yet!
This is another big bear of mine as he dies it all the time!
