I said it's not even 8yet&it's a Sunday! Why are u opening them already? He said well the sun's out init!! Stop moaning at me first thing in the morning!!

You don't sound very well suited. He's a bit of a nobber, household tasks need doing whatever the cause.
Ostentatious washing up is laughable. Does he do Ostentatious Cleaning too, where he checks you are watching?

babayjane67 · 11/05/2020 11:40

Flibberty I am thinking that more&more to be honest!
The first time I asked him to help me wash up years ago he actually got quite nasty about it.was in my face say yea u carry on in a really sracastic nasty way&I backed off&never asked him again for years after.thrn when I did eventually ask him again I got the asking him to cut his right arm off reaction!
He does empty the kitchen bin,put the recycling out&cut the grass but that's it.Me or at mo our DD has to poop scoop the garden,he won't do it.
There's so many things over the 15 yrs I've been with him, that have happened attitude wise etc I could write a book!

Your friends are self flagellating idiots.

You scrape off plates or any big lumps and stick them in, drop a tablet into the clicky bit, boot the door up and push a button. Hey presto, clean stuff by bedtime, all kept neatly inside until its unloaded. Even if you have crappy tins that need to be washed in the sink, you're not also having to deal with all the plates, cups, cutlery, etc at the same time.

If you clear up and load as you go/whilst cooking, you've got a ton more room to work in, so it feels less like hard work as well. Quick clean of the countertops/hob and everything's sorted long before it would have been otherwise.

It would also probably work out cheaper than buying expensive takeaways in the long run.

If you are seriously thinking about getting rid of him, why not get the dishwasher first so you've got the benefit of the thing even if you do end up loading/unloading by yourself because he's not around? It's not that much hard work to put a plate in a dishwasher, anyway.

My friends are lovely actually Mitzik but thankyou for that info.

@babayjane67 not sure what your friends are talking about, how can it not be worth getting a dish washer because you need to wash tins etc.

You clearly don't like your partner and originally your rant was about curtains and washing up, then we get a massive drip feed, people can't answer your AIBU if you don't give the details.

I suggest you start making plans to separate.

Yabu

babayjane67 · 11/05/2020 12:30

Yes understandme thankyou.
Sorry for the drip feed but once I started that was it. Perhaps I should put it in relationships.

Op you are clearly totally allergic to this man as you're at the stage where absolutely everything he does annoys you.
I get to that stage once I've decided to break up with someone but haven't done it yet.

lockdowngandt · 11/05/2020 18:23

I hate drip feeds.
So this isn't about the curtains or the washing up is it.

Don't be surprised you've had such a hard time with it when you've not given the full issue.

You sound like you're fed up of your partner no matter what it is at this point.
If you really dislike him as much as you make out and he really is as bad as intimidating you because you asked him to wash up LTB and get a dishwasher.
