To ask what you really really want now that you can't have it!

I probably have a McDonalds meal maybe 2 to 3 times per year (usually when we are on holiday). So the chances are I wouldn't have had one in the past 6 weeks anyway. But all I can think about is how much I want a Big Mac. In normal life, I drive past a McDonalds or 2 most times a day, and they barely even register. Now, as soon as I spot that big yellow M, I just start salivating. Is it because they are closed and I know I can't have one?

So I was wondering what other things people aren't normally that fussed about, but really really want now that they can't have them!!

Fluffybutter they have recipes on their website to make their dough... I'll PM you if you can't find them

Mummadeeze · 11/05/2020 20:39

To go on holiday. To hug my Mum. To get back to the gym. To go on a good night out with my friends where you laugh about stupid things and forget about real life problems!

QuestionableMouse · 11/05/2020 20:40

Proper fish and chips followed by a lemon top. Preferably with a cold can of shandy.

PainintheholeSIL · 11/05/2020 20:41

@Tattoocrazymum have you tried Brastop.com? They're pretty good if you are big of boob. I like the curvy Kate brand. Very reasonably priced. Always have sales on too. I possibly have a discount /referral code if you want it. Oh and I don't work for them just FYI😂😂😂

Someone said a Starbucks latte this was what i was missing so i brought a milk frother and some proper sugar free vanilla syrup, i make instant coffee with little drop of hot water , use the milk frother and add syrup, it tastes so similar, im obviously not sat in a Starbucks on one of their chairs but closest thing

Visit my family. Starbucks. Pub garden with white wine on a sunny day, garden centre afternoon tea.

Chillipeanuts · 11/05/2020 20:42

Bananas. Don’t even like them very much normally 😁

BeingLonely · 11/05/2020 20:43

The amazing all inclusive holiday we were due to go this week for my birthday 😭

ddl1 · 11/05/2020 20:43

To be able to meet people in person - I am very lucky to be able to work from home with technology, but it's still not the same. To go to the cafe. To have my hair done! To have my windows cleaned. Even to go to the dentist(!) for a check-up without needing an emergency. But most of all not to be scared all the time.

fivesecondrule · 11/05/2020 20:45

Fruit- I just can't seem to keep up with the demand in our house. I bought 15 apples, 2 bunches of bananas, 2 packs each of blueberries, strawberries and raspberries and a pineapple on Thursday and they've all gone. I usually encourage my DC to eat as much as they want but I' normally able to just pop out and top up.

TreacherousPissFlap · 11/05/2020 20:49

The house to myself for a day Hmm
I work shifts and normally manage at least part of the day a week on my own. Since lockdown the corner of my mind has experienced a constant low level rumble of guitars, dog paws tip tip tipping about, constant inane questions and the slamming of doors.
I love my family dearly but I would very much like them to fuck off for a day

Tattoocrazymum · 11/05/2020 20:59

@PainintheholeSIL
I unfortinately am not blessed with a good set Blush
I breastfed almost 2 years (stopped 6 months ago)
I used boob or bust measuring which gave me 32E but 32s are far far too tight. I ended up ordering 2 basic t shirt bras from matalan in 34D.
They fit perfectly around the band, cup is okay for now and will do me till i can get a good one fitted.
Thank you for the tip on brastop i will take a look at them (soon as i can get an accurate size i am)

See my family properly, we've had a major family bereavement

IndigoApple · 11/05/2020 21:31

@QuestionableMouse I've never heard of a lemon top but I've just Googled it and now desperately want to try one! Is it a North East thing?

managedmis · 11/05/2020 21:34

Proper chips

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 11/05/2020 21:37

Decent sushi.

KitchenDancefloor · 11/05/2020 22:07

Spontaneity

I miss just running into a friend in the high street and then going for a coffee.
Chatting to other parents at the side of the sports pitch and it randomly being the funniest conversation of the week.
Seeing the change of the seasons on my commute and the colours of the sunrises.
Finding a bargain in a charity shop.

I can tell you what my tomorrow looks like, and the day after, and the one after that.

A bit of variety would be lovely.

Thanks to those with genuine problems, bereavement and very young children. I know how spoiled I am that safe and boring is all I have to moan about.

QuestionableMouse · 11/05/2020 23:45

@IndigoApple

Not sure. I've only had them in the north but it's not like I looked for them when I was down south. They're delicious.

Thisisworsethananticpated · 11/05/2020 23:49

Swim and a sauna

thequeenbeyondthewall · 12/05/2020 00:14

A dick appointment lol

UniversalAunt · 12/05/2020 00:15

Oh yes, Cote steak frites, proper pie & mash, & then Sheekeys. Sounds like a gastronomic tour to make up for the skimp & scratch scoff of the past couple of months.
