What can I binge watch today?

Am exhausted and want to spend a day on the sofa watching tv. What’s a good binge watch?

I have Netflix, Prime and Now TV.

Things I love:
Luther, Happy Valley, Dead to Me, The Thick of It, Afterlife, and I do enjoy a good docu-series as well.

I don’t tend to get on so well with a lot of the big American Netflix series with a ridiculously large number of episodes per season - as I often lose interest.

Any ideas gratefully received

The Kominsky method each episode 25 mins - easy watching

PuppyMonkey · 03/05/2020 10:58

maybe I’m getting old and grumpy - but found their endless agonising and miscommunication to be infuriating!

I agree wholeheartedly. I’d not read the book Normal People or even heard of it until last week, but I gave it a go and was hooked on the first few episodes. But by about half way through I wanted to bang their heads together and tell them to get a fucking grip.Grin

My recommendation is for Succession if you can still find that on Now TV. If not When They See Us on Netflix.

Few years late but I’ve just finished binging Mad Men and absolutely loved it.

Also done Normal People, enjoyed the series but wasn’t keen on the book.

Unbelievable was gripping.

Blood. S1 on catch up and s2 just finished on c5

I'm watching Gangs of London on Now TV. It's brutal, sitting there hiding my eyes at some points but I'm totally invested in it

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 03/05/2020 11:20

all episodes of spooks are on iplayer

Currently up to series 8.
i never really got it when watching when it was on - I'd miss half the episodes, not concentrate as I was cooking/eating supper/catching up on emails when watching when first screened.

Maybe just avoid the episodes that are about foreign governments threatening to kill off the population with nasty viruses or other germ warfare. Can leave you feeling a bit 'spooked'.

I'm enjoying Normal People - although I'm trying trying to defray the excitement and not binge watch but watch when screened.

Dark tourist on Netflix. Just finished it in 3 evenings after dc where in bed.
Louis Theroux style journalism.

BikeRunSki · 03/05/2020 11:30

Normal People - but only if you don’t have DC around.

WildfirePonie · 03/05/2020 11:30

Fringe

Aprilcherry04 · 03/05/2020 11:32

The Stranger on Netflix. Bit far fetched sometimes but interesting. British and not too many episodes.

Carolduckingbaskin · 03/05/2020 11:44

I enjoyed The Stranger! I couldn’t get on so well with the other similar one (can’t remember the name but it was sort of set on a new build estate type thing).

I thought ''living with yourself'' had potential but I don't know, i felt it turned in to a farce.

I love Unforgotten season 3, bing watched that yesterday.

Might go back to Ozark now.

OhioOhioOhio · 03/05/2020 11:48
