I honestly don't know. Possibly a beach in Bali.

The cliffs at Hastings. No jet lag and a sense of satisfaction at at the end of a hilly walk

@doobiedop

The first time I was in Barcelona and saw the Sagrada Familia. I have no particular interest in architecture and didn't know much about Gaudi but it affected me in a way I can't describe. It actually moved me to tears. It's such a strange, other-worldly thing. I'm not even sure I like it but I'll never forget it coming into view.

The Atlantic Drive in Achill, west coast of Ireland, cannot beat the waves crashing against the cliffs. Simply stunning.

Hope Street, Alltheprettyseahorses - something about it catches my breath every time.

Vinipote · 30/04/2020 10:06

Sunset and sunrise from the top of Snowdon, the cloud inversions were magnificent.

doobiedop · 30/04/2020 10:08

@AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter I think it's the best in the world.
When I was a kid, my dad would sometime take me into his huge offices in the city where I would run around spinning the rows of chairs & then we would watch Tower Bridge open.

Etosha salt pan in Namibia, can see the curvature of the earth, animals walking on the horizon but its the silence that i will always remember.

I was there just as the war ended, no tourism, Namib was an amazing place to be.

Have to say that coming off Blackdown, nr Tavistock, A386 on a clear evening is a sight to behold, its truly a terrific view.

Shinygoldbauble · 30/04/2020 10:08

I love the West of Ireland coastline too. I love standing on the beach and picturing nothing but sea and sky for all those thousands of miles.

yearinyearout · 30/04/2020 10:08

The iguazu falls in Brazil probably

ChicChicChicChiclana · 30/04/2020 10:09

From the cocktail bar at the top of the World Trade Centre, Manhattan, at dusk on a September evening in 1999.

MadMadMad · 30/04/2020 10:09

It's got to be a tie between Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon - both were majestic in their own way.

AnnofPeeves · 30/04/2020 10:09

Nothing will ever beat these for me

Speaking on Snowdonia got this shot while rough camping overlooking Barmouth. Possibly the nicest sunset I’ve seen!

Another vote for the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania - standing at the rim with my two boys early one morning, taking in the views and just the sheer vast stillness of it was breathtaking and emotional. Not to mention the shiver of anticipation for what we would see when we drove down into it.

Also second Taormina and the Grand Canyon.

Fab thread OP, just compiling a list from all the suggestions to add to my bucket list!

aurynne · 30/04/2020 10:12

The view of Yosemite Valley and the Half Dome from Glacier Point. The view is so stunning that it looks unreal, almost as if it was computer-generated. Utterly awe-inspiring.

Another one here for the West Coast of Ireland. I love my little annual trip to Mayo

Looking over my shoulder to 300 horses and riders following me up the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.

BikeRunSki · 30/04/2020 10:19

Sand dunes, Namib Desert.

The sunset and bridges over the Tyne as I first drove over the Tyne bridge. It was early autumn and it was spectacular.

West coast of Scotland, anywhere

For my children...
The view going through Disneyland from the lead car in the parade (they randomly chose a family from the crowd to lead the parade. Not something you can arrange or pay for... Pure luck) then having the view of tbe parade coming down the main road from the castle. Made my daughters 7th birthday!

And one more fro me... Watching a thunderstorm from a beach in Mexico... Seeing this wall of rain coming towards us... Then being drenched like we were swimming in seconds. We saved our bottle of bubbly though!

PierreBezukov · 30/04/2020 10:30

Glens of Antrim and the North Antrim coast.

British Columbia Sea to Sky highway doesn't have a patch on it.

Mucklowe · 30/04/2020 10:30

Before dawn, coming up the Yamuna River in a boat to watch the sunrise over the Taj Mahal. Stunning.

Agreed - we did it just as it opened for the summer season and so saw it in snow.
