I honestly don't know. Possibly a beach in Bali.

Scotland comes up a lot. Next trip I think, whenever that can be.

gingerscot · 30/04/2020 10:34

@Pinkarsedfly is that Sri Lanka? If not I have remarkably similar photos!!

Fluffy40 · 30/04/2020 10:37

Lake Tekapo , New Zealand . Stunning.

Lovesgood · 30/04/2020 10:38

Alps in Bavaria.

I am lucky enough to have seen some absolutely amazing views all over the world, but I think the best one was the view of Yosemite Park from Glacier Point - I cried!

Iloveplacentas · 30/04/2020 10:45

Buenos Aires skyline on NYE- everyone goes up to their rooftops and balconies and lets off fireworks and lanterns, made me cry it was so beautiful. Also a lightning storm out to sea when on a beach in Thailand.

OverZoomed · 30/04/2020 10:46

Looking back along the coastal path to Start Point, as you walk towards Lannacombe. I wish I could be there now.

chipsandpeas · 30/04/2020 10:48

first thought was the grand canyon

Xenia · 30/04/2020 10:50

Each of my five babies as they were born actually........ although some of the widest oldest trees I have ever seen on the island I used to own in Panama and the volcanic rock formations on it by the shore come pretty close.

Daysofpearlyspencer · 30/04/2020 10:50

The view of Petra, Jordan from the top of the Monastry Walk, worth the climb on a very hot day

namechangenumber2 · 30/04/2020 10:54

Probably the ring of Kerry in Ireland

onanothertrain · 30/04/2020 10:56

I've been to lots of places and seen some amazing views but I don't think any of them beat the views I've seen on West coast Scotland

SerenDippitty · 30/04/2020 12:02

Agree about West of Scotland there are some spectacular white sand beaches because of the Gulf Stream, you could think you were somewhere really exotic.

Polyethyl · 30/04/2020 12:08

The views from the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.

EwwSprouts · 30/04/2020 12:09

I love a beach but the one view where I literally gasped was from the top of Heavenly ski mountain looking down on Lake Tahoe. The sun was shining and both sky and lake were brilliant blue with snow-capped mountains across the water. The resort was not as developed as it is now.

dazzlingdeborahrose · 30/04/2020 16:29

Victoria Falls
Sunset on the Zambezi
Flying in a teeny plane over the Kruger
Sitting in a boat in the caldera of Santorini
The northumberland coast
So so many - we should take better care of our world.

Speminalium · 30/04/2020 16:34

Yosemite or Skye

Elsiebear90 · 30/04/2020 16:37

I have two that immediately spring to mind:

-camping under the stars in Monument Valley, there was no light pollution so we had an excellent view of the Milky Way and many shooting stars

-flying over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter

lynxca16 · 30/04/2020 16:40
  1. Sun rise over Surfers Paradise beach
  1. Sunset at Rosses Point
  1. Lights of Manhattan in the winter
Downinthetubestationatmidnight · 30/04/2020 16:49

Arriving into Venice via the water taxi, could feel myself gasping. New York skyline.

StCharlotte · 30/04/2020 16:52

I think the London skyline is fantastic & some of the views from our bridges are the best in the world imo.

Agrwed. I adore the views going north on Waterloo Bridge.

I live just south of London now and there's a point on a walk we do where you round a bend and suddenly the whole of London is spread before you from the Wembley Arch in the West all the way to Canary Wharf in the East. It always give a buzz to see that view.

Timeforanamechangeagain1 · 30/04/2020 16:52

Angkor Wat at Sunrise
Halong Bay
From the top of Grouse Mountain, Vancouver
Seeing the Milky way from my Yurt in Big Sur
Looking out over the Nile from a hotel swimming pool in Luxor (sadly cannot remember the name of the hotel)
Looking out across an inlet from a hot tub at a b n b near Sechelt in Canada
Watching for the Green Flash in Key West
The cathedral as the train pulls in to Durham station, in fact a lot of the route on the east coast mainline as you head north from Durham is beautiful

I've not travelled extensively, but I've been extraordinarily privileged to travel as I have. Probably never really appreciated it as much as I should have til now. Lovely thread.

Littlebendytoe · 30/04/2020 16:53

Rounding a corner on the train from Zurich to Interlaken. First time I ever experienced a "breathtaking" view.

Other than that, the lakes and mountains in the Canadian Rockies. My most favourite place in the world and one of the most beautiful.

AdaColeman · 30/04/2020 16:55

Stepping onto the roof terrace in Athens to see, not far away, the Acropolis bathed in pink and golden early morning sunlight.

Hippofrog · 30/04/2020 16:58

Applecross Peninsula ❤️
