I honestly don't know. Possibly a beach in Bali.

The Matterhorn from the valley below was pretty spectacular and probably wins.

Uluru was OK but Kata Tjuta was better.

When the clouds cleared and we saw Taranaki from the coast.

The Quairang (the third time when it wasn't raining)

Glen Coe

View of Florence from the lookout above.

Meadow of St Orsa in the Gran Paradiso.

Hadenoughfornow · 30/04/2020 09:33

I keep trying to see that fucking view. Every time the clouds roll in and all we see is rain.*

We did manage on our last night in Skye to camp at Sligachan campsite.

The other nights we had to try and find accommodation as the weather was so bad Grin

Lovely thread, thanks OP:

San Diego beach at sunset
Pacific highway CA - breathtaking drive
Beach and sand dunes in Gower, Wales
Dumfries and Galloway - stayed in little hotel with private beach, watched lightening storm over water from window
Little village in South France overlooked mountains, vegetation, ocean and a medieval town square (can't remember name)

So jealous of anyone who's been to Yosemite! We were booked there for a 10 holiday when the devastating fires broke out - so much beauty destroyed (and our holiday cancelled as a secondary sadness)

LadyOfTheCanyon · 30/04/2020 09:39

Another one for Yosemite here. Bridalveil falls was stunning the year I went.
Also the falls of Clyde, where we scattered my dad's ashes. It had rained for days, and we didn't have long left to pick a time to do it. We started off in the rain and just as we reached the head of the falls, the sun burst forth. So that's a special place that is very dear to me, although there are other more beautiful places in the west of Scotland.

squashyhat · 30/04/2020 09:40

The Grand Canyon. Absolutely breathtaking and I had to keep pinching myself that is was real.

Originalyellowbelly · 30/04/2020 09:42

Sunrise over the Great Rift Valley in Kenya, just my DH and me on our honeymoon, it was breathtaking.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 30/04/2020 09:44

Eating dinner on the side of the volcano in Santorini with the Aegean sea stretching out before us

cultkid · 30/04/2020 09:44

Sunset in San Diego

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 30/04/2020 09:44

oh, and Venice. Venice is just stunning

StCharlotte · 30/04/2020 09:47

Yes, mine is approaching Venice by water taxi. I'd wanted to go for so long. I burst into tears.

Rodehereonthebus · 30/04/2020 09:48

I have quite a few! Taormina is just gorgeous for views. Cape Town from Table Mountain/Signal Hill/anywhere really is spectacular. Istanbul at sunset is amazing, the Bosphorus with all the minarets and the call to prayer. Just magical.

Oh, and Malaga from on top of the Gibralfaro. So many beautiful places, thanks for the happy thread OP Smile

Winederlust · 30/04/2020 09:48

Driving down into Yosemite National Park and getting the first glimpse of El Capitan.

StCharlotte · 30/04/2020 09:49

May sound boring, but watching Concorde take off when it was in service.

I remember watching the last three come into land from the roof of our office building. I cried then too!

MagnoliatheMagnificent · 30/04/2020 09:49

Sunrise from the southernmost tip of India, overlooking a point where 3 rivers meet. Absolutely beautiful- and it was our honeymoon, very special.

Ylvamoon · 30/04/2020 09:49

Sunset over the Alps backdrop as seen from an airplane ... absolutely stunning!

inwood · 30/04/2020 09:49

Slieve Gullion - NI
Haleakala Crater - Maui
Trail Ridge Road - CO
Jebel Akhdar and Wahiba Sands - Oman

middleager · 30/04/2020 09:51

The Niagara falls, though Tintagel on a sunny day gets me every time.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 30/04/2020 09:51

I cried watching the last Concordes come in over Richmond green too!!

Alltheprettyseahorses · 30/04/2020 09:53

Llandudno, especially the from the pier and the view of the Orme looking down from the B&B we always stay in which is so amazing it's actually surreal.

Loads in my home city of Liverpool. Walking up the slight bend in Queen Square and seeing the full impact of St George's Hall. Looking across to the Pier Head from the Albert Dock. Chinatown at New Year. Too many to list really.

Namechange8471 · 30/04/2020 09:54

Wieliczka Salt Mine in Poland.

MaryThorne · 30/04/2020 09:56

Many views within Yosemite National Park in the USA. Beautiful, breathtaking- I was heavily pregnant with DS(6) at the time do not up to much hiking. We would love to take him back there some day.

thenightsky · 30/04/2020 09:57

Ngorongoro crater in Tanzania at 6am with the morning mist rolling off the edges like a duvet. I've gone all tearful just thinking of it.

GrouchyKiwi · 30/04/2020 09:58

Flying from Wellington to Christchurch and seeing the Marlborough Sounds from the air. Being able to see the South Island coast to coast, the beaches and mountains in one view on a crystal clear day.

We went to Geirangerfjord in Norway a few years ago and all my friends were astounded. I found it merely pretty after growing up in NZ.

doobiedop · 30/04/2020 09:59

Most beautiful, Moorea.

I think the London skyline is fantastic & some of the views from our bridges are the best in the world imo.
