..... were excepting card payments only this aftenoon? And would I have been unreasonable to go to Home Bargains instead?

I fear the current situation is making me unrationally grumpy. Well, it's either that or the bloody menopause Blush

Do keep up

All shops should be card only right now. It isn’t fair to expect staff to handle filthy cash.

FelicisNox · 27/04/2020 18:38

@NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace so you think you're saving B&Q by buying non essential shit you don't need and that's more important than stopping the spread of a potentially lethal virus?

The "the lockdown doesn't apply to me" mentality alive and well in this post folks.

Congratulations you win Covidiot of the day.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 27/04/2020 18:48

Why on earth are you going to b & q? Not really essential is it?

Oh do sod off. What's the fucking point in it being open if nobody goes? Angry

Congratulations you win Covidiot of the day.

And you win 'Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells' wanker of the day Grin

No she didn't. She said they were all store made.

No, I didn't. Someone else said that.

FFS, the story's true. Believe it or don't!

OP, it looks as though you've fallen victim to the dreaded "Muphry's Law". This is the proofreader's version of Murphy's Law, and states that if you write anything which criticises spelling, grammar or proofreading, there will be a mistake in what you have written.

Certainly have. My PhD was gained in 'how to make a tit of myself Grin

I haven’t used cash in weeks, YABU

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 27/04/2020 19:05

On a serious note, there isn't that much at B & Q that's essential. A bit: to repair a plumbing emergency maybe, but ... not much.

However it is open. People work there. Normal people like you and me, who need to put food on the table for their families. Restaurants are open for deliveries and takeaways. None of that is essential but .... if nobody went there, we'd have an economic shitshow on our hands in a few months' time. There needs to be something to go back to after all this.

And for the pearl clutchers out there, you'll be pleased to know that, due to circumstances beyond my control, I won't be going anywhere for a week. So please feel free to feel dutifully smug. For the rest of you .... thank you Blush

I saw the grammatical error and thought it was the OP's rather than B&Qs but was too polite to point it out. She should have put it in quotation marks.

Another who thought the same, here

Pretty much everything is payment may card only now. I think that’s reasonable. Don’t have any problem with that at all, personally.

OP has excepted she’s being unreasonable, cancel the cheque - I mean card payment.Wink

iklboo · 27/04/2020 19:47

I think MN should introduce something where you can't post anything until you've read the full thread Grin

Tubs11 · 27/04/2020 19:47

I'd take acceptional offence!

ilikemethewayiam · 27/04/2020 20:31

Who uses cash? I haven’t used cash in years. I don’t even know where my nearest cashpoint is or have a purse to put it in. No need for it.

You'd honestly pay for a paper or packet of crisps with a card? Shock

Though a lot of elderly people still prefer cash. My parents included.

iklboo · 27/04/2020 20:35

You've also missed the point of the thread.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 27/04/2020 20:36

My local corner shop won't accept card for under £2 so if I only need milk or chocolate I pay by cash. Obviously at the moment it's a bit different but when things go back to normal I won't be buying more than I need just to make up the amount!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 27/04/2020 20:37

BTW I do know what the thread is about, I'm just amazed that people have such a problem with cash!

iklboo · 27/04/2020 20:41

Ah got you! Ignore me. I've taken a hefty dose of codeine. I did mean to sound as snotty as that had come across. I'm sorry Blush

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 27/04/2020 21:00

It wasn't me that said it in originally @iklboo, I was agreeing with you but was trying to explain (badly) that I understood!

I'll just shut up now!

Mumgonenuts2020 · 28/04/2020 12:52

You could order on line I guess.. 😄💙
