..... were excepting card payments only this aftenoon? And would I have been unreasonable to go to Home Bargains instead?

I fear the current situation is making me unrationally grumpy. Well, it's either that or the bloody menopause Blush

I've spelt retailer incorrectly.

Oh, that's not the only mistake...
😂😂

Ponoka7 · 26/04/2020 17:54

Even if a shop does accept cash, i think that we should all be paying by card, if under the allowed amount of course.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 26/04/2020 17:56

And returned. I'm off to find my reading glasses Grin

MidnightCircus · 26/04/2020 17:56

Haha oh OP, your third post is beautifully ironic

iklboo · 26/04/2020 17:59

Grin. At least you were discrete about it.

PiggyPokkyFool · 26/04/2020 18:01

In the spirit of the thread @Ponoka7 shouldn't you say:
Even if a shop does except cash, i think that we should all be paying by card, if under the aloud amount of course.
It would annoy me too @NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace

Mapril · 26/04/2020 18:01

And returned. I'm off to find my reading glasses grin

And apologies Easily done though eh? Grin

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 26/04/2020 18:02

In my defence, my mistakes are typos rather than major grammatical cock ups. But it's still piss poor on my part, I agree.

I should pop my specs on but I'm comfy and I don't want to move Smile

OP posts:
Likethebattle · 26/04/2020 18:03

I agree that we will be cashless very soon.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 26/04/2020 18:04

And apologies

Oh, bugger; I really can't see. Right, I'm off for my specs before I post anything else Grin

Most places are asking for card payments only now aren't they?

No

speakout · 26/04/2020 18:07

B&Q have been pretty essential for me in the past few days.

Willow2017 · 26/04/2020 18:13

And what in B&Q was absolutely essential for you to have to go in to store to get it?

There is always one on these threads!
And what is "absolutely essential" about you needing to know why op was out?
Read the guidelines, nothing is classed as 'essential', if its being sold its perfectly ok to buy it.

Many shops are reopening, why should they bother if nobody is going to use them? If we dont they may not be here in 3 months time at all.

Pomegranatemolasses · 26/04/2020 18:15

My local Tesco has requested that everyone do their shopping 'as quick as possible'.

QuestionMarkNow · 26/04/2020 18:15

You made me smile@NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace :):)

I didn't get the issue until I read Your explanation about the sign.
And then saw the typing errors Grin

That’s why I never comment on that on here. Too many typos in my posts usually 😂😂😂😂

fascinated · 26/04/2020 18:15

Lol. Get it.

ohdearmymistake · 26/04/2020 18:18

Pomegranatemolasses

Is that a sign near the entrance? if so I would by a pen on the way round then correct it as I was leaving.Grin

ohdearmymistake · 26/04/2020 18:19

I did mean buy honest

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 26/04/2020 18:23

Even if a shop does accept cash, i think that we should all be paying by card, if under the allowed amount of course.

DH tried to pay by contactless yesterday but the card was declined. If Virgin Money are going to make it so you have to enter your PIN after every £150 wouldn't it be a good idea to notify customers?! His card has already been cloned and he was worried mine had as well!

RedAzalea · 26/04/2020 18:24

it says 'accepting' not 'excepting' op........i have seen it

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 26/04/2020 18:24

Aah, making a tit of myself has really cheered me up, for some strange reason Smile

Thanks everyone, for making me smile. I really did need it today Blush

Off topic, but there's a shop near me (or there used to be) called ''Mary's Pasty's'' Which makes me cringe. You'd think the sign people would have noticed even if the shop owner didn't.

CreamLinenChairCover · 26/04/2020 18:30

My mum, only deals with cash, post office account, so she won’t be able to buy anything, and to be honest, I’ve some cash too at the moment, not hundreds, but enough to use for a shop, rather than my card.

How annoying.
A lot of older people might also need to withdraw cash from their post office to use, especially since banks closed, they certainly did locally for my mother, so she can’t transfer money into her bank account anymore at the moment, as she doesn’t drive, and doesn’t want to go far..

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 26/04/2020 18:30

it says 'accepting' not 'excepting' op........i have seen it

There's more than one B & Q kicking about, tha knows ...... twas definitely 'excepting' up 'ere int north Grin

@ohdearmymistake, unfortunately they've put the numerous signs in little plastic covers.
