To think this stupid woman is the reason lockdown must continue?

So neighbours at the end of our little lane often have visitors who block the road because they cba to park 10 metres around the corner or pull onto their driveway properly. It’s irritating but fine as they move quite quickly and the neighbours are elderly.

Today neighbours had someone dropping something off but she parked directly her car in front of their house (blocking single lane narrow road completely) and shouted to him through her open car door while neighbour was stood on his doorstep. Fair enough, except DS and I were just going out on our bikes and couldn’t get past. She was well aware as could see us getting bikes out of garage. I assumed she’d move off to let us pass but she didn’t. As we approached she got out of her car and shut the door leaving us just enough room to squeeze through but stood in front of her car inches from us. She could have just stayed in it Hmm.

I asked her to move away as we were supposed be social distancing and she did saying she ‘didn’t believe in it’ and we should be like Sweden and let everyone get the virus. I said well I’d rather my family didn’t get it as we don’t actually know how they’d react and I didn’t want to risk them being among the few healthy people who died but she insisted it was all rubbish and she didn’t believe in social distancing Hmm.

AIBU to be shocked that arseholes like this exist and think lockdown needs to continue due to them?

I’ve responded to your recent posts about deaths, but that wasn’t the initial point I was arguing about.

longwayoff · 28/04/2020 13:55

Oh come on OP, deal with people like this by coughing loudly and saying how unwell you feel. She will definitely move.

The CDS is a source. Unless you don’t take statistics given by the CDS.

NikeDeLaSwoosh · 28/04/2020 13:57

I’m not sure what that graph proves

Firstly, its a table, not a graph, and secondly,it is in response to your post at 13:41:34

I'm happy to debate with you, but you do need to at least remember the questions you asked.

Furfockssake · 28/04/2020 13:57

@NikeDeLaSwoosh

‘Yes, somehow, given the quality of your argument, I'm not surprised that you're not a regular listener to More or Less’

Wow ... pot, kettle.

Where are these stats? I can't see you linking/posting any concrete data.

Vaguely name dropping a body that might potentially provide you with a reference for your claim isn't sufficient I'm afraid.

NikeDeLaSwoosh · 28/04/2020 13:59

Wow ... pot, kettle

From someone who can't keep track of their own questions?

Ho ho ho

Furfockssake · 28/04/2020 14:01

Ok. You have no idea my level of statistical analysis but you’re making yourself look a bit snotty and patronising. Secondly. I understand I asked you for a source, and I understand why you sent it. But my point is you are steering the argument away from my initial point. I’ve given you a source for the number of people ending up in hospital in the US, given by the a public health institute, which you claim isn’t a source.

Furfockssake · 28/04/2020 14:02

Have a look, if you don’t agree, come back and say why. And I’m sorry - linking to the BBC is not a source’

Furfockssake · 28/04/2020 14:08

It’s all online

I suppose id be described as "elderly" though anyone who knows me will tell you it doesent remotely apply to me,i neither feel it or act it,and im told look it,I dont have underlying health issues so i shop and walk,im socially distancing though, hand washing fanatically but ive always been a bit ott with that. But im getting a bit fed up with people trying to shame others all the time with their holier than though attitude.

This virus isnt going to go away,we could lock down indefinitely it will still be there when we come out to what,a totally ruined country, people murdered by their partners, mental health problems through the roof, millions unemployed and even more homeless, and with peoples immune systems lowered against all illnesess.Does anyone really want that. The lockdown has to be lifted carefully and managed, with some social distancing, you cant expect people used to freedom, to not get sick of it and maybe break odd rule. This what we have at moment isnt living,we cant go anywhere, see those we care about,do any of normal things that make life worthwhile, and if you live alone believe me all the webchats, zoom etc in world dont make up for real human contact. It cant go on much longer without people rebelling especially with summer coming,so some relaxation has to happen very soon.So stop trying to shame others please.
