OMFG do not go out

If you have a cough, as innocuous as you might think it is! Why are you out? Just walked on my daily walk for about half an hour. 3 people walking past in safe distance all coughing 🤨 what the hell is wrong with people 😞

In fact isnt "omfg do not go out.." more apt for a local facebook site. Perhaps follow it up with "what's the matter with these people? " and put up a picture of a family going for a walk.

I have asthma and cough a lot I cant help it and would also know if my cough changed and then i wouldn't go out

SquirtleSquad · 24/04/2020 21:31

Also it's like when they talk about nits at school people start scratching.. I've noticed I was really thinking about not coughing so much in the store that I let out a random cough that came from no where

TheSultanofPingu · 24/04/2020 21:32

Coughs actually existed before Covid 19.

Slith · 24/04/2020 21:33

I always have a cough because I'm a smoker. Nothing has changed.

GoingP0tty · 24/04/2020 21:33

I have asthma and hay fever so tend to cough a lot, does that mean I should not go out?

Tinyhumansurvivalist · 24/04/2020 21:34

I have chronic asthma, hay-fever and I suffer with acid reflux. I cough 24/7/365

Get over yourself. Not every cough is flaming coronavirus. Try educating yourself

KylieKoKo · 24/04/2020 21:34

I have hayfever which I can generally control with antihistamines. However occasionally if I walk under a flowering tree i suddenly have to cough. This has happened once since lockdown. Do you think that I should stay indoors all the time?

Crocky · 24/04/2020 21:35

I’m another with asthma and hay fever. I always cough. Should I never go out?

Therollockingrogue · 24/04/2020 21:35

Everyone has an excuse for their cough though in this nice weather . Because would you rather have hayfever (nice quality of life, walks out and about each day) or mild covid 19 (isolated at home unable to leave, social pariah , loss of earnings, fear, uncertainty, people in hazmats, endless cleaning , unable to get supplies , potential hospital admission...)
If we’re self diagnosing then this is what it comes to eventually.

Waveysnail · 24/04/2020 21:35

Allergies and reflux. I cough all the time. Ffs should we all stay indoors

Ruffins · 24/04/2020 21:36

This made me laugh on a reddit sub

OMFG do not go out
choli · 24/04/2020 21:37

A bloke on the opposite pavement to me this morning coughed massively and spat in the gutter. envy (not envy)

Gross, but coronavirus presents with a dry cough, not one that would produce mucus that needs to be spat out.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 24/04/2020 21:37

Another hay fever sniffer and cougher here. I cross the street if I see someone coming in case I cough. We have so many cherry blossom trees around here which are beautiful but my nemesis, along with cow parsley!

GrimmsFairytales · 24/04/2020 21:37

Chances are the cough isn't related to coronavirus, but even if it was you're allowed out after a week.

After 7 days you do not need to self-isolate if you just have a cough as a cough can last for several weeks once the infection has gone. The 7-day period starts from the day when you first became ill.

Silvercatowner · 24/04/2020 21:37

Perhaps it was a fake cough just to wind you up??

OscarWildesCat · 24/04/2020 21:37

Oh FFS, really? YABVU and obviously have never suffered with asthma. Are you really this small minded?

Tunnocks34 · 24/04/2020 21:38

My baby coughs constantly because he has one lung.

StrawberryJam200 · 24/04/2020 21:38

You are still allowed out for exercise even if you have symptoms. Really.

Whether this advice should be changed I don't know, given the graphic I saw today of how far droplets can spread....

Dalamalama · 24/04/2020 21:38

I run and when I run I cough a fair bit and my
nose constantly runs, I'm sure it scare people but I've always been the same.
My friend coughs a lot and always has done, she had acid reflux which the doctors think is part of the cause but aren't 100% sure.

Strangely I had this conversation with my uncle the other day. He was complaining that he'd passed a woman who was coughing. I put him straight.

Pomegranatemolasses · 24/04/2020 21:39

3 people walking past in safe distance all coughing.

Just get over yourself.

Callingyounique · 24/04/2020 21:39

I have had a chronic cough for weeks and weeks. It’s dry. I feel like I shouldn’t leave the house but it’s not coronavirus.

Therollockingrogue · 24/04/2020 21:39

“coronavirus presents with a dry cough, not one that would produce mucus that needs to be spat out”

I think this is true initially but not for long.

frippit · 24/04/2020 21:40

My husband has copd and asthma. He has an impressively loud cough and has had since he was a child. Even before corona he could get a lot of stares when he coughed. Now hes shielding so doesn't scare people so much!

Chloemol · 24/04/2020 21:40

I have a permanent cough due to a medical condition. Are you seriously saying I should be permanently inside? Get real
