If you have a cough, as innocuous as you might think it is! Why are you out? Just walked on my daily walk for about half an hour. 3 people walking past in safe distance all coughing 🤨 what the hell is wrong with people 😞

OP posts:

I’d like to address the OP directly now and say

“OMFG do not go out unless you’ve had AT LEAST 10mg Valium.”

Better idea. If you don’t like people coughing, why don’t you stay in.

OllyBJolly · 24/04/2020 22:12

I have hayfever. I cough and sneeze constantly and will do for a few weeks when it will miraculously disappear. I do not believe that hayfever is contagious.

GrimmsFairytales · 24/04/2020 22:12

She’s talking about people who have become ill relatively recently with a cough

No she isn't, because she has no way of knowing when a person developed a cough, or why they are coughing. Her OP is clear, she means all coughs If you have a cough, as innocuous as you might think it is! Why are you out?

SquidwardTennisballs · 24/04/2020 22:13

Soz for being extremely allergic to pollen and grass 🙄

AmelieTaylor · 24/04/2020 22:15

A cough is a cough, and every time you cough, you are spreading whatever germs you are carry corona or non corona. Seems sensible

What 'Germs' are hay fever or asthma spreading??

Some of us, with a perfectly ordinary coughs, are quite capable of covering our mouths when we cough!

🙄🙄🙄

Itwasntme1 · 24/04/2020 22:19

I have had a cough since January.

Don’t be so bloody ridiculous😊

Drivingdownthe101 · 24/04/2020 22:21

I’ve had a cough for 7 weeks. Originally diagnosed as a chest infection and prescribed antibiotics, then referred for an emergency X-ray 2 weeks ago due to coughing up blood. Eventually diagnosed as severe hayfever. Shall I stay home until the end of the summer when it goes?

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 24/04/2020 22:22

What 'Germs' are hay fever or asthma spreading??

Exactly Confused

I'm always worse when I wake up, think it must be my immune system kicking in after a sleep or something Grin
If you saw me out and about in a morning, I'd most likely be coughing (allergies)
I'm all good later on in the day though.
Absolutely no germs in allergies or hayfever.

Drivingdownthe101 · 24/04/2020 22:22

She’s talking about people who have become ill relatively recently with a cough

How on earth would she know that the people she encounters from a distance on her walk have become ill relatively recently with that cough?

OkMaybeNot · 24/04/2020 22:23

I'm one of those unfortunate people who can't take any antihistamines (even the 'non-drowsy' ones) without needing to sleep for a few hours and stay inside because they affect my coordination so much I can't drive.

My choice seems to be: take this medication that ruins my life but cures my allergies, and means I can't go out anyway because I'm dangerously drowsy... or don't, and get chased with pitchforks when I 'ahem' in a park.

It's a bit shit really.

NowApparently · 24/04/2020 22:23

Oh bore off. I'm asthmatic, I cough all the time and have done for years.

justasking111 · 24/04/2020 22:24

God the deranged are out in force today, hayfever yep, asthma, yep. Cough, yep.

OH was disgusted and shouted this morning at a jogger who ran past him then spat onto the pavement. Now that is gross.

Disquieted1 · 24/04/2020 22:24

From now on I'm only going out wearing my full SCUBA equipment. Including flippers.
It's the only way to be sure.

drspouse · 24/04/2020 22:25

I have never hidden so many threads in my life.

Clutterbugsmum · 24/04/2020 22:29

When the fuck would you like me to go out. I have Chronic rhinitis, which basically means I have a cough/cold from March to November due to pollen from trees to mushrooms.

My DH is shielding and I can't get a delivery slot for love or money But I still need to feed my family.

If YOU have issues then I suggest OP YOU don't go out.

UnderTheIroningBoard · 24/04/2020 22:29

My cough is very innocuous. I've had it for ten years, thank you.
Out of courtesy, I really try to not cough near people, but it's not exactly easy.

justasking111 · 24/04/2020 22:30

@drspouse "They walk among us" Grin

Tootletum · 24/04/2020 22:30

Well, TB causes a cough too. 50% of active TB infections for without treatment. And yet we don't care about that. Why's that then? Oh, yes, poor people in other countries. But yes you go right ahead virtue signalling about how altruistic you are.

Aridane · 24/04/2020 22:31

I was in the metro a month or so ago. I started getting a tingling cough. I tried so hard not to cough knowing that people would be looking at me that when I could not keep it in anymore and I did cough I spat all over the place. Sometimes one has to cough.

Hopefully in the crook of your arm and not literally spitting all over the place...

Tootletum · 24/04/2020 22:31

Die without treatment. God why is there no edit button??

SchadenfreudePersonified · 24/04/2020 22:32

I haave a cough. I have asthma. I've had asthma for 45 years. If I didn't go out when I had a cough I'd never leave the house - ever.

Canshopwillshop · 24/04/2020 22:32

Enough FFS!

Purpleartichoke · 24/04/2020 22:32

I’m allergic to the cleaning supplies they are constantly spraying in stores. It’s impossible not to cough because my throat is trying to close and I’m hoping I’m not going to need an epi-pen, just an anti-histamine strong enough to knock me out. (Getting everything that can be delivered, delivered, but sometimes I have to go in person)
