Can't see the issue?

keepitupbuttercup · 20/04/2020 20:27

I'm always known as the mrs as are everybody's else's partners where by other half works. Not getting the problem at all?

Oldsu · 20/04/2020 20:28

Mine call me his cloth eared old bat, I call him my silly old fool, sign of affection after 48 years of marriage

Alsohuman · 20/04/2020 20:29

I used to work with a man who referred to his wife as The War Office

So did I, wonder if it’s the same guy? Mine calls me his little Schmunzelmonster.

Giggorata · 20/04/2020 20:33

Mine calls me the Queen Of Darkness.

amatsip · 20/04/2020 20:35

My son called me mate from the age of 18 and still does and he does it to annoy me

Thehop · 20/04/2020 20:37

My dad used to call my mum the dragon. We were the tea pot lids. Bless him.

LokiDoki75 · 20/04/2020 20:38

I'm known as "The Management" here Grin

Daisy12Maisie · 20/04/2020 20:38

I dont understand what the problem is. If it's a big team they arent going to remember the names of each others wives/ partners. The wife/ the Mrs is fine. Less annoying for the team than using your name and them thinking who?

PyongyangKipperbang · 20/04/2020 20:38

I loathe "The Wife", it's so disrespectful, like The Fridge or The Cooker, like she is a thing not a person.

The Mrs .... it depends. You can usually tell if its done with affection or not.

I love this thread! Particularly the War Office, the Leader of the Opposition, and the Management! Brilliant! Your DHs obv have a lovely sense of humour.

MegUffin · 20/04/2020 20:41

And?

AngryBananaSund · 20/04/2020 20:41

No one else uses She Who Must Be Obeyed?

(H. Rider Haggard and then Rumpole)

PersonaNonGarter · 20/04/2020 20:43

LTB

EdersonsSmileyTattoo · 20/04/2020 20:46

DH calls me The Wiff. I don’t smell, he wrote my Christmas card out when he was pissed after a works do one year and wrote in in it “to my beautiful darling Wiff”!

I think it’s funny!

roarfeckingroar · 20/04/2020 20:48

DP does the same. He's northern and manages a large team of lad types - fortunately he isn't one himself. I think it's quite sweet, but at first it was rather strange to my Surrey brain.

Sunnyhopefulness · 20/04/2020 20:48

I’m in my husbands contacts as the missus - he refers to me as my wife at work - not got an issue with the former

Spanglishness · 20/04/2020 20:49

Hmm I’m not seeing the issue

Alsohuman · 20/04/2020 20:49

Canadian man, name began with A? —think they were swingers—

No, mine was called Peter. He was a tit.

Howfar12 · 20/04/2020 20:51

And what do you call him when you speak to your mates smh

Alsohuman · 20/04/2020 20:51

I love The Wiff.

vanillandhoney · 20/04/2020 20:52
