I’m at a grand total of 5 pounds!

Anyone else finding they’re gaining weight?

@pogopogopogo I also got the starter pack!! I got 3 strawberry and 3 vanilla, and I will try making them with oat milk and see how I go! Will report back Grin

I've put on three pounds but as I'm getting used to lockdown I've started to calm down and eat normally. It felt a bit like Christmas at first with everyone at home...and I was eating like I do at Christmas. Now lockdown feels more like normal life.

Problem is baking is a really good activity for kids when you're stuck indoors so we always have something nice to eat which is tempting

feelingverylazytoday · 20/04/2020 09:17

I've lost a couple of pounds. I haven't done any baking and stopped drinking. I'm trying to stay as healthy as possible in case I get the virus.

I made a fancy chocolate cake for DSs birthday but I make more simple things now like banana cupcakes or home made pizza for dinner...beating the dough is very relaxing!

Patterjack · 20/04/2020 09:32

I've put on about 5lbs. Today I'm starting afresh 🤷‍♀️

mellie1806 · 20/04/2020 09:40

I totally expected to put on lots, but appear to still be at 10.6 stone. I would LOVE to shift that last 7lb and be 9st something by the end of lockdown. Probably not going to happen though, as we are eating better, I am probably eating more as I'm enjoying food more as its made things rather than shove it in the oven quick food.

Yabadee · 20/04/2020 09:46

I put on 3lb the first few weeks, lost that in the last week. Every second day I’m walking a rural 5k near our home at 6.30am, then coming home and following a 20 day challenge I found on tik tok. Jordyn Trenholm if anyone wants to have a look.

I’m in the shielding group but I figure the mental health benefits to my walk outweigh the risk of catching anything on it. I don’t touch anything whatsoever, and don’t see a soul bar the odd tractor. I have one road to cross and I’ve yet to actually have to stop for a car.

I don’t sit down all day bar for meals and for an hour at night to watch tv and do some knitting that I’m teaching myself. I’m keeping busy decorating, cleaning and doing the garden. Oh and cooking! I’m baking quite a bit too.

I’m not being strict with what I eat, I don’t drink so food is the only real pleasure at the moment! I also have a stoma so need to eat regular solid meals to keep it moving.

Getting married next year so need to keep going!!

Youngatheart00 · 20/04/2020 09:47

My scales are out of battery which is both a blessing and a danger (living in blissful ignorance).

But I know I have gained at least 5lbs+ as even my stretchy clothes are getting tight around the middle and I have rolls 😫

Finding it hard to find the motivation to do anything other than snack and drink booze food and drink wise. Minimal exercise. Think it’ll take a clearer view on the end of lockdown for me to get my arse in gear. I am a little all or nothing.

RogueSymphonies · 20/04/2020 10:09

@OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow That has been over the last six weeks - the first part was intentional, the second bit was after developing COVID. Everyone I know with COVID has lost a crazy amount of weight.

I am OK now and eating again and on protein / nutrition shakes. It was very frightening though at the time (not being able to even drink). I am working on getting weight back on in a healthy way now though.

Thank you for asking.

Womenwotlunch · 20/04/2020 10:21

Put weight on the first week of lockdown and didn’t do any exercise which made it worse.
However, the second week I started to walk everyday, slightly reduced what I was eating and I am back to my normal weight.

Valkadin · 20/04/2020 10:36

Well though untested I did have a Skype app with a Dr and had every symptom of covid. I could barely eat for two weeks and though I haven’t weighed myself have razor sharp cheekbones. It’s five weeks since first symptom and my poor little tum had a sort of temp IBS, spoke to Doc on phone about this. I’m still only eating small amounts. I did manage a dinner that was about two thirds of what I usually eat last night so felt very pleased. I survived for a couple of days on just milk with honey and water with lemon juice and honey in. I literally couldn’t eat solid food.

BogRollBOGOF · 20/04/2020 10:37

About 3-4lb, the problem is I'm small and short with no hiding space and was at the top of my happy zone anyway.

The old decorating jeans only did up last week because the arse is splitting, and they were too tight for bending in. They were OK before Christmas.

I'm trying to keep ravenous, twiggy children filled up and I'm bored and in the house 22+ hours a day. I'm missing regular bursts of walking briskly around doing the school run/ local activities/ pokemoningin addition to my usual regular excercise routines. My neighbourhood is quiet, I go out running in the countryside where social distancing is very easy, so with the clarification that leaving the house more than once for exercise can be reasonable, I'm now doing that. It makes the difference on needing 1400 calories to sustain weight at a sedentary level and about 18/1900 being very active. I have tendancies to get injured doing HITT type exercise and have no access to my osteopath so I need to be careful.

I'm not eating a strict, low-calorie diet in front of a ravenous family every single meal just to even attempt to maintain myself let alone lose the surplus.
I can manage 5:2 when the kids are at school and I keep busy, but it is really not going to happen at the moment.

TheFluffiestCat · 20/04/2020 11:21

I don't know how much I've gained as I don't know what I was before, but I know my fat day jeans are too tight. I've downloaded MFP again and it's making me stop before I get to the biscuit tin.

Pogopogopogo · 20/04/2020 12:44

@pinkstar01 I've had the first one. Strawberry with semi skimmed milk and water (no skimmed milk in the house!) and froze half a banana. I have to say I actually quite liked it. Hopefully it keeps me full for the next 4 hours as it's meant too. So much nicer than the milkshake type shakes.

pinkstar01 · 20/04/2020 12:53

@pogopogopogo that's good you liked it! I had the macadamia and vanilla one with 1/2 oat milk and 1/2 semi skim. It was very very nutty, I was expecting it to be smoother. Also didn't really taste any vanilla...so didn't like it much but I drank it because atleast it's healthy Envy it would have been lovely with banana but I can't have banana as I'm intolerant to them! Will try the strawberry one tomorrow, probably with full semi skim milk.

WaktiWapnasi · 20/04/2020 12:57

Lost weight due to illness but I'm recovering, so now the challenge is to capitalize on it and not boredom eat. Huh - yeah right!

MorganKitten · 20/04/2020 13:05

No, I’ve lost 8lbs

Umnoway · 20/04/2020 13:07

I’m pregnant so I suppose it’s not hugely important and I haven’t been tracking but I’d imagine I’ve definitely gained a few more pounds than I otherwise would have. I can’t really leave the house other than to potter around the garden or drive to a midwife appointment, it’s pretty crap.

Pogopogopogo · 20/04/2020 14:13

@pinkstar01 oh no that's a shame! I like nuts so that will suit me. Perhaps get some frozen berries to chuck in with it as you can't have banana. Or freeze some yogurt to add. I prefer them ice cold personally. Helps the taste be less strong. The strawberry one was a little coconuty. Again I like coconut so was ok for me.

McPie · 20/04/2020 14:32

Too scared to stand on mine! my clothes are getting tight and there is no way I can run every day as it makes me miserable. I signed up for Les Mills on demand and got 30 days free then found they had free stuff because of covid! Now i just need to motivate myself and actually use it Grin

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 20/04/2020 14:38

About 40 stone. I’ve quarantined the scales for the duration BlushGrin

MrsMonkeyBear · 20/04/2020 15:24

About a stone!!!

I'm usually very active and average about 15000 steps most days and run around after a 5 and a 2 year old. But alas, with being furloughed, I'm not doing as much. I'm also eating more as I'd often skip lunch at work.

And to be honest, I needed to gain this weight.

beela · 21/04/2020 07:06

so with the clarification that leaving the house more than once for exercise can be reasonable

What now? I have missed this one, where did that come from? It would make me very happy if true, because I could leave to exercise myself and also go out to exercise my dc.

JigsawsAreCool · 21/04/2020 07:08

@beela yeah I saw some comment on this..not v clear though.

I'm not going out at all so no idea of it is true

SophieB100 · 21/04/2020 07:50

Inspired by this thread I've just weighed myself and I'm exactly the same. No weight gain so far!
I am walking a lot though and gardening.
