I’m at a grand total of 5 pounds!

Anyone else finding they’re gaining weight?

I've lost 5 pounds but I've been VERY disciplined (most of the time) re. eating. I could quite easily eat my way through lockdown but I've worked so hard in the gym for the last 2 years that I don't want to ruin all that hard work. Pre-social distancing/lockdown, I was dating the most wonderful (and gorgeous) younger man from my gym. We have more dates planned for when this is over so I need to stay disciplined. No matter how much I'm tempted to eat cake. And more cake. I'm doing a LOT LESS exercise than usual so the only way for me to maintain is to restrict calories (which is a miserable way to live).

HundredMilesAnHour · 19/04/2020 19:28

I need to get back to having mealtimes instead of eating the whole time I'm awake.

This made me laugh. It's how I feel too. By 11am every day I'm ready for lunch. And start thinking about dinner immediately after.

Proseccoagain · 19/04/2020 19:31

Lost a couple pounds.

pinkstar01 · 19/04/2020 19:51

@pogopogopogo

I'm starting piriton tomorrow too! Grin

missmouse101 · 19/04/2020 19:54

God, I daren't weigh myself. Trousers tighter, was obese to start with. So unhappy. Sad

Pogopogopogo · 19/04/2020 19:58

@pinkstar01 I'm starting with strawberry as I hate anything flavoured strawberry - but love strawberries. Going to add half a banana to make it more palatable. I bought the taster pack to see which one I prefer Grin good luck!!! Let's hope it works.

I lost 2lb in the first week because I wasn't 'prepared'. No junk in the house at all. 2nd week, Easter came with all of it's chocolate and hot cross loveliness, plus I went shopping and got ALL the good stuff and I put on 4lb. 🙄

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 19/04/2020 20:04

Not sure I don’t want to know

It’s not so much at home it’s more at work. We are all comfort eating biscuits and colleagues are bringing in cakes

Have been better this past week

I’m crisped out didn’t think that would ever happen

DysonFury · 19/04/2020 20:08

I've lost weight, am never off the trampoline and if I am I'm gardening!

MrsJBaptiste · 19/04/2020 20:31

HOW HOW HOW are some of you doing more exercise than before???

I used to be in the gym 4-5 days a week, burning 1000+ each time. Now all I'm doing is a daily HIIT workout plus 15 mins squats and barely getting past 3000 steps.

I'm stuck in for 12 weeks so can't go for walks or cycle rides and am climbing the walls at now being able to get on the treadmill, stepper and stairmaster 😞

Turbo is the answer

Runningonempty84 · 19/04/2020 20:49

HOW HOW HOW are some of you doing more exercise than before???

I'm guessing people who did minimal exercise before are able to do more now. Loads of people have started couch to 5k, or Joe Wicks, for example - which is brilliant.

But on the flip side, people I know who did a lot of exercise before are now climbing the walls.
I used to run 50ish miles a week, plus a cycle commute and gym. Now there's no cycle commute, barely any running, and only bodyweight HIIT stuff to make up for the weights sessions I used to do. It's extremely frustrating.

Fluffybutter · 19/04/2020 20:50

@MrsJBaptiste you’ve answered your own question ,surely? Not everyone has to stay in for 12 weeks , lots of us can still go out to exercise once a day as well as at home .

MrsJBaptiste · 19/04/2020 20:54

Yeah, I suppose I have really!

I just don't think that even if I could get out at the moment I'd be doing anything like I was but I suppose there a lot of people who are using this lockdown to try and get fit 👍

RogueSymphonies · 19/04/2020 20:56

Lost 21 kilos. 5 kilos before COVID and the rest during/after...

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 19/04/2020 21:05

@RogueSymphonies do you mean since lockdown? That doesn't sound healthy. re you ok?

Yellowcakestand · 19/04/2020 21:29

I got on the scales today. Around 6 lb. Seriously need to sort out my eating

AnotherMurkyDay · 19/04/2020 21:32

@amijustparanoidorjuststoned

I think I've had the virus too. I could only stomach dry toast, crisps and cereal without milk. Also lost my sense of taste and smell. Temperature, cough, some breathlessness, dreadful fatigue

dementedma · 19/04/2020 21:33

Staying the same. More wine is offset by less snacks from the office biscuit tin, and a 3 mile walk every day. Previously I just sat at my desk and didn’t do any exercise at all.

BeNiceToYourSister · 19/04/2020 21:33

What I’ve gained in not walking (used to do 4-5 miles per day) I think I’ve burnt off through stress, so I’ve stayed about the same. We don’t have scales at home though, so I’ve no idea really!

PrimalLass · 19/04/2020 21:34

I lost half a stone the week before lockdown because of stress. Then put it back on. It needs to go away again plus more.

Jellykat · 19/04/2020 21:38

I too have lost 5 lbs through stress.. not a good look as i was bordering on underweight before lockdown. I now look gaunt.

Bluebooby · 19/04/2020 21:43

I think I've gained 2 pounds. I'm trying to put on weight though, hoping to gain a stone at least. Is there an ideal time of day to weigh yourself for an accurate reading? My weight is different depending on the time of day and I'm never sure which to go by, I've realised it fluctuates quite a lot.

likeafishneedsabike · 19/04/2020 21:50

None gained, none lost. Massive scoffing but a shit ton of YouTube HIIT videos with the DC.
