Isn’t there a princess in Europe that’s now working as a HCA?

A queen somewhere in Asia cooking for the poor?

Harry and Meghan delivering meals?

Bet if Diana was here she’d be out doing everything in her power to help the ordinary folk 💪

@RogueV, I’ll add, if homeschooling is proving so easy for the future King & Queen, why not narrate a few online lessons for the new BBC online school, which launches this Monday. Or read a few stories for harried parents (who aren’t self-isolating with their staff or nannies - and, by the way, if people are claiming this isn’t happening, who the heck was entertaining the three royal children so their parents could participate in the interview?)

Step up, royal family, Captain Tom has put you to shame and become the iconic figurehead the country is crying out for in the midst of this pandemic nightmare.

Fairyliz · 17/04/2020 23:39

#OneandTwenty wasn’t me who said I was homeschooling my kids it was the op at 23.02. Thought it was a bit late myself.

AngryRedhead · 17/04/2020 23:39

At least they’ve stopped roping key workers in for social distance-breaking PR stunts.

Admittedly they’ve endanger members of the public far less than Charles flying to his one of his many second homes in the Highlands (ironically afternoon Sturgeon said “Second home owners must stay away from the Highlands”) after he became unwell with COVID-19. Of course he continued to endanger his staff because a man with mild symptoms couldn’t possibly be expected to put his own toothpaste on his toothbrush.

Won’t William need to qualify as a pilot before he can fly air ambulances? Right now he’s only qualified to fly as a co-pilot, because he didn’t put the minimum number of flying hours in. Not sure if laziness or plum lack of interest.

OneandTwenty · 17/04/2020 23:39

It seems like every second poster on MN is an NHS worker at the moment

what a bitchy comment, but have you even wondered how many NHS workers YOU personally know? I've realised that a lot more people I happen to know ARE NHS workers, or care home workers... Never thought about it before.

DailyKegelReminder · 17/04/2020 23:40

Treated like everyone else? What's everyone else doing these days? They're staying at home, perhaps the Cambridges should do that. Oh, they are.

I'm glad they decided which home they can ride this out in Smile

They aren't being treated like everyone else either, ridiculous to say otherwise.

OneandTwenty · 17/04/2020 23:41

Fairyliz
no need to twist the OP's comment, you are being childish now. Stop it, you are making yourself sound very silly.

RogueV · 17/04/2020 23:41

Agree @OneandTwenty I’ve noticed a heck of a lot more especially since joining our village FB group

OP posts:
MrsMGE · 17/04/2020 23:41

William has donated an undisclosed figure to Captain Tom and his child’s god parent has donated over £12 million to the NHS if news reports are to be believed.

What's that got to do with anything? He needed a 99-year old Captain Tom to realise NHS charities need the money? We've had 10 years of austerity and have been in public health crisis since March, but oh wait, the future king has just woken uo today... bless his heart, I'm touched.

His child's godparent is a separate human being... shocking, I know. Not a BRF member either.

Bunnyfuller · 17/04/2020 23:42

I bet some of these ‘how dare you, and you think an HCP is all that’ will stand there on Thurs night ‘thanking our heroes’.

Stop fucking clapping and think about the morality of the NHS being in the state it is whilst people see it is ok for someone to have six homes.

While the working person in this country is happy to embrace such imbalances they will constantly search for the villain of their lot.

Defending the Royal Family, in its current incarnation, is the same as accepting the historic brutality and rape of commoners in earlier ages. Your ‘love’ of them isn’t ‘patriotic’ or ‘british’ - it’s manipulated, calculated and all designed to keep you in your place.

WorraLiberty · 17/04/2020 23:42

I couldn't care less about your ID card.

I've just never seen so many NHS workers on one chat forum and it's only been in the last 7 or 8 weeks.

OneandTwenty · 17/04/2020 23:45

Fascinating WorraLiberty, thank you for sharing.

RogueV · 17/04/2020 23:45

@WorraLiberty

Hmmm maybe it’s because there is a PANDEMIC going on and they may want to talk about something that is relevant to them or that is important to them.

🤔🤔🤔

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 17/04/2020 23:46

Hmm possibly.

We'll never know. It's just an anonymous internet forum after all.

MrsMGE · 17/04/2020 23:49

Worra, thank you for your fascinating insights, you've made your point crystal clear. Now can you stop derailing the thread, please, thanks a lot.

Iamthewombat · 17/04/2020 23:49

Bullshit. No NHS HCP is on here tonight with time on their hands trying to mock the royal family

Yeah, OP. WHY aren’t you working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?

William has donated an undisclosed figure to Captain Tom

HAHAHAHA. I bet it was ‘undisclosed’ for a reason. I’m with the PP who said that it’s pathetic that it took a 100 year old man to get him to fork over some of his cash.

his child’s god parent has donated over £12 million to the NHS

So what? Does William get credit for his friends’ actions? Does it work both ways? Will he be happy to be criticised when his friends behave like arses?

caringcarer · 17/04/2020 23:49

Prince William opened new Nightingale hospital in Birmingham via video link yesterday.

Wolfgirrl · 17/04/2020 23:50

OP you will get lots of replies like that of @INeverSaidImNice because royalists are being let down by the last royals and therefore have no comeback.

The answer is they are doing nothing as usual

Wolfgirrl · 17/04/2020 23:50

*lazy royals

Moominmammaatsea · 17/04/2020 23:51

@WorraLiberty, you’re like MN royalty and I generally concur with everything you write because you usually nail the essence of the thread. But I’m sticking my head above the parapet tonight (gulp) to say I think you’ve got it a bit wrong with your sarky comment about HCP. Maybe - before the global pandemic that has claimed the lives of circa 50 of their professional colleagues in a few short weeks in our country alone - posters here didn’t feel so compelled to want to talk about their frontline experiences?

WorraLiberty · 17/04/2020 23:53

Worra, thank you for your fascinating insights, you've made your point crystal clear. Now can you stop derailing the thread, please, thanks a lot.

Yes, I'm so sorry.

Back to slagging off Kate and William...

OneandTwenty · 17/04/2020 23:54

Even the zoos manage to offer virtual tours to attract visitors and entertain kids, I am sure the royals wouldn't struggle too much to find something helpful to come up with. If they really wanted to be involved.
Which.. they don't, we know that.

MrsMGE · 17/04/2020 23:54

*Yes, I'm so sorry.

Back to discussing what they are/aren't doing rather than creating an undercurrent. Yes, indeed.

Why single them out though? Seriously what a bitchy thread.

MajorIngram · 17/04/2020 23:59

How exactly do you know what they are or aren't doing?
