A queen somewhere in Asia cooking for the poor?

Harry and Meghan delivering meals?

Bet if Diana was here she’d be out doing everything in her power to help the ordinary folk 💪

All those people outside BP are local, yeah? Windsor doesn’t have 1.6 million visitors a year? Half a million at Palace of Holyroodhouse? Have you seen how many visit Royal Deeside in the summer?

Maybe look up how much they actually bring to the country in tourism etc before spouting how much they cost the taxpayers .

Oh ffs, here we go again, we’d still get the tourists with or without them, probably more if they were gone. But even if they did help with tourism.....what a pathetic reason for keeping such an undemocratic loathsome institution going.

I would respect them far more if they actually went out and did proper jobs, or if one of them stayed at home and looked after the children. I now regard them as rich, privileged people similar to all the various celebrities we read about in the Daily Mail.

I really do not want to divulge my actual job description on here.

But I have just come off maternity leave and have been working hard for our very lovely NHS.

Maybe that’s why I’m so fucked off and ranty 🤷‍♀️

So 4 pages in and we still haven’t come to a conclusion as to what they’re doing...

Well, maybe she's not preaching from her ivory tower in the middle of the pandemic to us, the commoners, for a start. This alreadt makes her less annoying and tone-deaf.

Secondly, it's highly unlikely the OP owns properties and is sleeping on money and connections that could oh, so easily be utilised in the current crisis, but alas they're not.

Er, the OP has already stated that she is an NHS HCP although one poster rudely accused her of lying.
So she has been working for the NHS and caring for her children, presumably without multiple full time members of staff plus the comfort of a mansion.

Harry & Meghan are self serving, they know damn well they'll be recognised but L.A. is less of an issue than London I think (but not for long) and they may well take it home to their child! Well done them !!

What from going to six houses ? Ones which will have been vetted for symptoms first. I see more people at risk every time I'm at work.

There are multiple European countries, former monarchies that believe it or not, are visited by tourists too. Palaces are still standing. Precious, exquisite art is still exhibited. No one visits a country for the monarch.

They were criticised at the beginning of this crisis for fleeing London for their second palace, and then there was the cringe-worthy staged photo of Kate dolled up to the nines pretending to be on a phone call ‘working’ (as if they know the meaning of the word). They realised they were getting a negative reaction from the public so now they are desperately trying to appear to be more relevant with their ‘trendy’ video chats and filming their kids clapping for the NHS (as if they’ll ever use the NHS!)

Be under no illusion that these publicity stunts are part of a bigger strategy to keep the public on their side. They need the public on their side to retain their power.

Prince William is second in the direct line of succession to the British throne. His eldest son is third in line. Prince Carl Philip is fourth in the indirect line of succession to the Swedish throne. His eldest son is fifth in line. A bit of a difference in status.

Sod all. Which shows exactly why the family is useless and should be treated just like everyone else.
Treated like everyone else? What's everyone else doing these days? They're staying at home, perhaps the Cambridges should do that. Oh, they are.

If all those palaces were empty we’d get more tourists, like France. But tourists don’t come to Britain especially for the royals anyway. They visit loads of attractions. Royal palaces are way down the list.

Banging on about mental health from their mansion.

Mental health is important... but how can anyone focus on that when they are worried about their job, food security and their homes? How can people focus on mental health when they are trapped in tower blocks with little children and no outside space? How is that paramount when you are working from home... shopping... cooking... cleaning etc and home schooling... when the fuck am I supposed to stop and think "my mental health".

They made mention of Charles' mental health while he was ill with covid because he loves walking and couldn't leave the mansion to go explore the extensive grounds and so was feeling a bit down... right.

They are useless... and the sooner people in this country realise that the sooner society can have more equity in it, may even become a true egalitarian one.

IMO the one good thing to come from this horrible situation could be that people finally realise just how irrelevant the royal family are.

And before anybody asks - I am a key worker and have definitely been doing my bit, thank you.

Ha, another NHS HCP here. I’ve just finished a set of nights and can’t sleep, so I have PLENTY of time to sit on here bitching about the Royals Grin

Though actually OP I wish they would just fuck off. I don’t want to read about them, don’t want to hear about their efforts to connect with the plebs, don’t want to see photos of her latest Zara dress. They can both retire into obscurity until Charles pops his clogs, as far as I’m concerned. At that point Wills can reappear for the coronation, then piss off again.

What a bitchy place this is tonight. So many threads trying to pull others down.

Maybe the people that William and Kate speak to off camera appreciate it? The cameras are no doubt there to show people that they are doing stuff so people won't moan. They are damned if they do something damned if they don't.

I thought it was cute to see their kids clapping the NHS earlier in the day before they went to bed. Let's face it there are umpteen threads on here moaning about clapping waking children! Again no win situation.

They are spending their time with their children and no doubt working with their mental health charities at a time when these charities are needed.

According to the news he wanted to return to the NHS but was refused because of his status. And isn't Kate supposed to have upset the housekeeper (who quit) as Kate likes to cook for her family?

The answer is we don't know. All we do know is that they are abiding by the advice and staying home - imagine the furore if they went out.
