So We're all stuck in as we know. I have a newborn and a 2.5yo, and DH wfh so most of my day is chaos with one millisecond of the day to myself. Oh and its my birthday this week (woooo).
I've not spent any money of late as DH does our food shop (I cover all bills and budgeted some spending money for mat leave). I am still in mat clothes thanks to not being able to get new ones I can fit in but I am comfy and reluctant to have to return items. I am generally not someone that spends money on myself, it mostly goes on the kids.

But like most, I am low and anxious, and want to 'treat' myself but no idea where to start in the current climate.

So has anyone treated themselves and if so what, why and did it work??

Since lockdown? Fudge, my favourite cheese by courier and a skipping rope lol

Somanysocks · 28/04/2020 17:13

Double pack of jaffa cakes.

@JufusMum, spill the beans please?! Dont have a bath, occasionally bath at my dad's house down the road but can't obviously do that right now. Have far too much shower stuff to get through, including Lush, so tell me what you've ordered so I can live vicariously through you!

JufusMum · 28/04/2020 18:47

@lotusbell
Plum rain shower gel
Sleepy shower gel
Comforter bubble bar
Various bath bombs most of which are likely to be pilfered by DD while I’m at work!

FullOfCake · 28/04/2020 18:52

Amazing, lovely treats people are buying. I am jealous about the lush order. I love abit of lush 😁

As an update I have brought a pair of linen trousers and two pairs of culottes from a store I don't usually splash out for (tight budget) the culottes are the most god damn comfy things I've ever worn. I also brought four new tops and a pair of sandals. I feel much better despite going up a size as I haven't lost my baby weight from my three month old Blush but it feels good to be out of mat clothes!

A Dutch oven and some slippers. Both have made me very happy!

lotusbell · 28/04/2020 19:10

@JufusMum, good choices! The Comforter is possibly my favourite scent - I have the bubble bar, the perfume and the body spray. So tempted by the huge 20 quid version! DS13 has a couple if Avobaths in his bedroom drawers, just waiting for the next bath at Grandads! Might place an order on payday! Enjoy!

shinyredbus · 28/04/2020 19:11

Expensive underwear. Maybe going to buy some tops. A friend sent over a beautiful highlighter for me to try too.

mrsjg · 28/04/2020 19:12

I've ordered a humidifier and Neom essential oil for it for my bedroom. I also ordered some stuff from Beautypie. The longer the lockdown goes on the more I'm tempted to buy.

Katkincake · 28/04/2020 19:15

At first I stuck to essentials but then after a while I thought sod it and went a bit mad. Our biggest layout is a Hot tub (not coming till June due to UK shortage Sad) I’ve had make up already and ordered a shitload of dressmaking stuff to make things to stop me drinking and Netflix-ing in the evenings. Very tempted to go mad on Liberty for beauty products as you get a free make up bag and £3-400 worth of stuff when spending £175 - (saves waiting for the advent calendar), but sitting on my hands on that offer!
Some new shorts arrived today with the rain!

Thighmageddon · 28/04/2020 19:18

A large Beauty Pie order.

Currently eyeing up some bits from Glossier for when I can put makeup on again. I'm aware I could wear it now but it seems wasteful.

A jigsaw. I am not rushing to finish it I am crap at jigsaws and it is very difficult. The colours on the picture are not really anything like the actual pieces.

DysonFury · 28/04/2020 20:04

I treated myself to shagging DDs DDad. That is my most recent treat.

BloomedAgain · 28/04/2020 20:06

@undercoveraessedai please tell me more about your weighted blanket

Destinysdaughter · 28/04/2020 20:07

@thenightsky I'm on my third wine crate now! Problem is, the wine is so nice I'm going to find it difficult to refer back to my normal plonk afterwards...

Following a thread on here about mixers, I got a second hand Kenwood mixer from EBay, can make my sourdough now.

Also bought this fab radio which arrived today Smile

I bought a barbeque just now on Ebay! Which is a very optimistic purchase I think, hoping that at some point I can have friends round to have a barbeque in the garden!
