To ask if you've treated yourself to something as a pick me up right now, and what it is

So We're all stuck in as we know. I have a newborn and a 2.5yo, and DH wfh so most of my day is chaos with one millisecond of the day to myself. Oh and its my birthday this week (woooo).
I've not spent any money of late as DH does our food shop (I cover all bills and budgeted some spending money for mat leave). I am still in mat clothes thanks to not being able to get new ones I can fit in but I am comfy and reluctant to have to return items. I am generally not someone that spends money on myself, it mostly goes on the kids.

But like most, I am low and anxious, and want to 'treat' myself but no idea where to start in the current climate.

So has anyone treated themselves and if so what, why and did it work??

Yes. I need some treat for myself.
I got a bottle of perfume which price tag was a bit steeper than I would usually pay but again a huge bottle, also some handbag and some tops.
Definitely needed to cheer me up..

Two pairs of Fit Flop sandals - both in the sale and just lovely. I'm not a sandals fan as a rule but they're so comfy and pretty. Was only supposed to be one pair but they arrived today and I liked them so much I ordered a second pair.

I got myself an ipad, felt very guilty for first couple of days and now, sod it, why not

And iv just seen the fit flop sale post and now im gonna go see if i can bag a pair of them aswell

I’ve never worn fit flops. Are they comfy?

@PurpleDaisies they're AMAZING. Comfortable from the first wear. I wouldn't wear anything else now and they have good sales too. Even the really nice stuff - well stuff I like anyway, is in there.

Well thanks to @stayingaliveisawayoflife, I have now ordered a pair of the iridescent crackle DMs after having spent the day lusting after them. I was so tempted by the gorgeous teal glitter ones as well but thankfully they are sold out in my size.

It’s like confessional in here. Seems like a lot of people have been panic buying vacuum cleaners too

I’ve gone a bit/lot overboard on perfume but in my defence did sell a lot on eBay part used before lockdown. This is an embarrassingly long list but smallish sizes... 4ml sample size of Aerin Musk, 4ml sample size of Aerin Blossom (liked the musk better but the bottles are too cute). A 30ml travel size of Tom Ford Portofino Neroli (Parfum was the same price on John Lewis as eau de elsewhere and it was on my list for summer anyway). Only had a replica of this previously to see how often I would wear it. Just gone and ordered 30ml of Shay and Blue blackberry woods after really liking a free sample and reaching for it a lot. Bonus wheel of fortune game won me 30ml of Dandelion Fig for free - yippee. I’ve no idea if I’ll like it but it is unisex so I could pass it on to DH if I’m not keen on it for me.

I also have some Floral Street Electric Rhubarb (never tried this brand) coming with a Latest in Beauty Box so I’m think I’m set for the foreseeable!

Just had a Mirabelle necklace delivered from UO today which was purchased with birthday money.

A couple of card making craft bits (Nuvo drops and stickles) after doing some projects at the weekend as a reward for a massive tidying up and decluttering.

Yoga hammock for exercise purposes.

Is it just me who goes to treat themselves then just buys stuff for DC?

Then £££ later I'm like, meh, moments passed for myself now

@Talisin you will love them! They shine very brightly in the sun and have a mirrored shine on them!! I know my class will love them when I get them back....hopefully soon.

@Trapordo other than Disney plus we’ve actually not treated the kids. They are actually quite content going through and using their Christmas stuff and DD has been introduced to my back catalogue of YA fiction on kindle app.

I get the comment about ppl risking themselves packing all these ideas but also we are keeping many in a job where the companies may not survive if we didnt keep on buying. It's a tricky 1. Also we wd all go mad if we weren't able to online shop! Definitely treat yrself to something if u can afford it i think there are enough suggestions here but only u can truly know ....

Also, i just looked up fit flops. Chk out the similar ones on the ash shoes website, in the sale, i can vouch for them being the most comfortable thing u will ever wear in yr entire life ! All of their shoes are ☺

Lovely body and face scrub! I never ever buy stuff like that for myself and I cant wait for it to come.

Also an oil cloth for the table with chickens on it.

An electric burr grinder, as I'm brewing and drinking a lot more coffee at home now!

On the subject of coffee machines, could someone recommend a really good one? Easy and easy to clean. Just need black coffee no fancy stuff

New slippers that arrived today. ballerina style with HUGE pompoms, really warm and comfortable.
Hopefully my cat will stop chasing the pompoms every time I get up once she's more used to them.

@Queenie8 - Scarlett Rose eau de toilette from Aldi - smells amazing, £6 for a huge bottle, and reasonable staying power.

My ted baker order arrived, and I was disappointed. Sent 3 out of 4 items back. I also bought some trainers from Daniel a few weeks ago which I had forgotten about.

We bought a Ferrari G3 Pizza machine.

It was £100 and cooks beautiful restaurant style pizzas in 5 minutes. No regrets.
