To ask if you've treated yourself to something as a pick me up right now, and what it is

So We're all stuck in as we know. I have a newborn and a 2.5yo, and DH wfh so most of my day is chaos with one millisecond of the day to myself. Oh and its my birthday this week (woooo).
I've not spent any money of late as DH does our food shop (I cover all bills and budgeted some spending money for mat leave). I am still in mat clothes thanks to not being able to get new ones I can fit in but I am comfy and reluctant to have to return items. I am generally not someone that spends money on myself, it mostly goes on the kids.

But like most, I am low and anxious, and want to 'treat' myself but no idea where to start in the current climate.

So has anyone treated themselves and if so what, why and did it work??

I have been really bad but I love both of these!

@CaptainMerica - what's les Mills? Just curious.

I am trying to have as nice food as possible, coffee and a wine delivery.

A new comfy nighty and a worktop protector....so sad. Well not the nighty. Comfy clothes are a must especially when we're stuck in!

Triggahippy · 15/04/2020 19:09

An essential oil diffuser

winterisstillcoming · 15/04/2020 19:09

@Wheret0n0w the dr. Gross extra strength daily peels. I bought the five pack and then bought the bumper pack of 35 from space NK. I've got a glow after 5 applications (every other day) but my skin is hormonal at the moment so difficult to tell. I've not got the wow that other people have but it has made a difference.

Moving to daily from tonight but cutting them in half as they're butt clenchingly expensive (for me anyway).

Wine, some loungewear, a book, nice handmade soap. Just a few bits to make life a bit nicer.

canklekitten · 15/04/2020 19:09

CHAMPAGNE!!!!!!! ..... gallons of it 🙂

BlokeTarget · 15/04/2020 19:13

x3 huge bars Of dairy milk and a massive order from amazon.

Including a Go Pro, petrol garden strimmer , PS4 and a drone Grin

Don’t worry I’ve not got a bank loan! My company owed me £2000 in back pay from a extra work an promotion.

So banked half and spent half. Gotta treat yourself!

hertoehurts · 15/04/2020 19:13

Sun loungers for the garden, led lamp for my son’s bedroom, a bread maker and I’m just about to order a new feather & down duvet with my John Lewis vouchers that I had for Christmas!

TheBigFish · 15/04/2020 19:16

A Hotel Chocolat velvetiser. A lot of nice chocolate. A Charlotte Tilbury palette. Some earrings from Not on the High Street. And waiting for some makeup brushes. Oh and a UV machine to do my nails. Would now like some nice loungewear.

MysweetAudrina · 15/04/2020 19:18

A Sweaty Betty yoga top for 140e but with 20% off and some neom candles for my "office/yoga studio"

JessicaAndHarry · 15/04/2020 19:18

I spent an extortionate amount on Jellycat for my 4 month old son. He won’t be the slightest bit bothered as he’s so young, but I’m very excited for the delivery to arrive. Also bought a new book, ‘Raising a child with albinism’, I guess that’s both for me and him. And then for me, a fancy new bb/cc cream to try instead of my usual foundation. None of it has arrived yet, but it’s nice to know treats are on their way!

Lou12124 · 15/04/2020 19:20

Such a great post OP but with all these lovely treats people are posting is making me think ooo that's a good idea! And I dont have the money lol 😩🙈

Yarn....lots and lots of it. I'm not even locked down, continuing to work full time but I could last 10 years with the yarn I have purchased over the past few weeks.

I think it's a stress reaction! And lots of discounts around.

ScarlettDarling · 15/04/2020 19:22

@Hadjab That ring is stunning. In fact all of the jewellery on that site is stunning. Do they ship to the UK?

scottishgirl98 · 15/04/2020 19:23

Every week I've been getting myself a magazine (bbc good food or something not too tabloidy - cosmo or red if they've got someone I know on the cover) and a big bag of tortilla chips and different dips to indulge myself. Sometimes I even get one of those instant scratchcards! Probably doesn't sound like a treat but I never remember to get myself magazines and I never bring any snacks in the house other than fruit or else everybody eats and eats and then isn't hungry when it comes to meal time.

ThisMumisaMan · 15/04/2020 19:26

So far, two new barbecues, a new computer, about 20 Lego sets (I'm 42 but I refuse to grow out of it, besides I build them with my kids, so it's really nice family time), noise cancelling headphones (best purchase by a mile as I have 3 of the afore mentioned kids), case of my favourite rum, a rum decanter in the shape of a Stormtrooper's helmet... this quarantine best end soon as I'm soon going to run out of things to buy or go broke!!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 15/04/2020 19:27

Some Monin violet syrup to put in my hot chocolate...

Crymblecrumble · 15/04/2020 19:28

@BarbarAnna ooh care to share details?

galaxybuttons · 15/04/2020 19:29

Molton Brown shower gel
Silver daisy earrings
flip flops
benefit 'they're real' mascara...
Makes me feel 'normal' to have some treats as I loved a good wander in the shops, having a coffee etc. Go for it and buy yourself something - you deserve it! 😊

pinkmagic1 · 15/04/2020 19:33

Some new sandals which haven't arrived yet (hopefully tomorrow) and new comfy pillows.

BikeRunSki · 15/04/2020 19:34

Hardly anything ! I’ve watched DH try and save his business and make several people (he employs 67 people) redundant or put on furlough for the last 4 weeks. Goodness only knows where the business will be in a few weeks time.

choccybuttonshelpeverything · 15/04/2020 19:35

@JessicaAndHarry my wee girl has albinism too :)
I’ve ordered some garden stuff for kids. Nothing for myself as yet... except chocolate lots and lots of chocolate x
