So We're all stuck in as we know. I have a newborn and a 2.5yo, and DH wfh so most of my day is chaos with one millisecond of the day to myself. Oh and its my birthday this week (woooo).
I've not spent any money of late as DH does our food shop (I cover all bills and budgeted some spending money for mat leave). I am still in mat clothes thanks to not being able to get new ones I can fit in but I am comfy and reluctant to have to return items. I am generally not someone that spends money on myself, it mostly goes on the kids.

But like most, I am low and anxious, and want to 'treat' myself but no idea where to start in the current climate.

So has anyone treated themselves and if so what, why and did it work??

My new running shoes and outfit have just arrived - and I have already been out for my daily exercise for the day so can’t even test them!

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 15/04/2020 17:53

Charlotte Tilbury makeup. Am now sporting a full face of it and husband hasn't even noticed the difference!

freddiethegreat · 15/04/2020 17:54

Just booked a caravan in Snowdonia at the end of August & crossing everything I have got! We have been there lots before so I can envisage exactly what we will be doing ... 🤞 🤞 🤞

otterturk · 15/04/2020 17:55

I've bought quite a few things. Some lovely maternity clothes, some new lounge wear and a few good quality soft t-shirts/long sleeve t-shirts. Some new serums from The Ordinary. Some pretty earrings from the Swarovski sale.

SimonJT · 15/04/2020 17:57

Yes Blush

In the last 2-3 weeks I’ve bought
Indoor play things (no garden)
Lots of crafty things
More weights
New weight bench
Pull up bar
Stand for my bike

Blah1881 · 15/04/2020 17:57

You must treat yourself- NOW! You massively deserve one and I COMMAND you to get one 😊

Bunnybigears · 15/04/2020 17:57

Some ducklings, dont worry they were well planned and we already had their run etc set up in the garden but I thought I was going to have to wait until after lockdown but my friend who hatched them used her 1hrs exercise to bring them over on her bike in a shoebox!

Like PP I have spent a fuck ton on loungewear - that business must be doing pretty well right now!

Also spent a lot on naice food - asparagus, salmon, tenderstem broccoli, posh biscuits.

Spent around £200 at Look Fantastic on cosmetics, hand cream, all kinds of beauty shite Grin

Beautifulmistake · 15/04/2020 18:01

A puppy! And no, it's not on impulse, we've been planning and discussing for a long time. And no, we're not picking her up during lockdown but it's a very lovely light at the end of what feels like a very long tunnel and the daily photos/videos make these long days a little bit shorter 🙂

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 15/04/2020 18:01

If you asked me this a few weeks ago I’d have given an answer, however on Mother’s Day I was spoilt rotten by dh who bought me the Jan Marini 5 step skin combination set and some NEOM candles.

At this moment in time Id say some peace to have a bath, without someone wanting a bloody jobby!!!

bluebeck · 15/04/2020 18:03

Oh yeah - forgot about the candles.

And the books.

And the seeds for the garden Blush

Sheilasfeels · 15/04/2020 18:03

I've decided to dona glow up while we're locked down 😂 so I've ordered some bits from The Ordinary (three things for £20 is amazing!) and I'm going to work on whitening my teeth with strips or a kit. Saving that splurge for next month.

RedPandaBear · 15/04/2020 18:05

A reebok step!

anothermansmother · 15/04/2020 18:06

A mitre saw and a new drill. I feel like I can properly tackle jobs now( when they arrive! )
Also a new spade

Zinniasout · 15/04/2020 18:12

Not spent but finally getting around to using gorgeous bath and beauty stuff I'd not unwrapped since being given it at Christmas. DS teens keep walking past me and saying 'You smell gorgeous' which helps the lockdown self esteem.

What I really really want is lots of paint and some of those rollers they advertise on FB where you fill the roller with paint. Desperate to redecorate. Perfect weather for it and work has completely dried up (freelance) so I could at least be doing something worthwhile. I'm useless in the garden. That's DH's domain.

IwantKandixxx · 15/04/2020 18:13

New bed covers for the whole family (7 of us!)
And my grown up Daughter bought herself a new dining table and chairs

Lucy and Yak dungarees! I know it’ll take forever for them to get here but I’m so excited

ElloElloVera · 15/04/2020 18:13

Treated DD to some AirPods. Since she’s online most of the day (friends, School, hobbies) it seemed a decent idea.

Cupcakesandconkers · 15/04/2020 18:13

I have ordered myself a big gift box of chocolate from Hotel Chocolat. My DH keeps coming back from the shops with hideous choices (picnics or munchies yuck!)
I’ve mostly been spending money on stuff for the kids to play in the garden with bit I’m going to treat myself to some Elemis skin care. My skin is shocking! Probably all the chocolate and wine!

Toddlerteaplease · 15/04/2020 18:14

Done shoes from Camper. I've had my eye on them for ages.

Egghead68 · 15/04/2020 18:15

Way too much chocolate and cream cake (have had COVID-19 for nearly 4 weeks).

Janaih · 15/04/2020 18:16

Garden sofa, eyelash serum and coffee pod subscription.

Cupcakesandconkers · 15/04/2020 18:18

Oohh and 2 new garden chairs with tray to hold phone and drink. 😀

Gindrinker43 · 15/04/2020 18:21

Hands and forearms are dry and horrible from all the washing and alcohol gel at work, so have treated myself to matching Jo Malone perfume and body lotion, use the money I would have spent on entertaining the kids over the Easter holidays.
I smell lovely!

EmbarrassedMum1 · 15/04/2020 18:23
