So We're all stuck in as we know. I have a newborn and a 2.5yo, and DH wfh so most of my day is chaos with one millisecond of the day to myself. Oh and its my birthday this week (woooo).
I've not spent any money of late as DH does our food shop (I cover all bills and budgeted some spending money for mat leave). I am still in mat clothes thanks to not being able to get new ones I can fit in but I am comfy and reluctant to have to return items. I am generally not someone that spends money on myself, it mostly goes on the kids.

But like most, I am low and anxious, and want to 'treat' myself but no idea where to start in the current climate.

So has anyone treated themselves and if so what, why and did it work??

Some new books, all with a Greek mythology theme; some pots and plants to brighten up my yard and some lemon gin.

Paininmyface · 15/04/2020 15:18

Had pneumonia and since I recovered I look like a sad corpse so I've purchased a lumea, some nuxe sun blocks and a pair of sweaty Betty leggings so I can get back outside (in the garden) and look alive before I go back to face to face work.

Paininmyface · 15/04/2020 15:19

And a headband for my isolation mop😂

golddustwomen · 15/04/2020 15:22

I have treated my self to a few of the Value items from QVC, the big 1000ml Philip Kingsley elasticizer in the Mayan vanilla and orange scent and the 5 piece Elemis skin care set that came with the neroli balm which is my absolute favourite, marine cream, eye gel, fargipani body wash and lotion all really lovely and like having a spa day at home, also got the Elemis sea lavender and samphire bath &body milk

Lovely high thread count bedding from la Redoute and some lovely lounge wear and pyjamas from jack wills for when I come home after a hard day working in community nursing. I know jack wills can be seen as for younger people and know I’m 31 but love their pyjamas, leggings/joggers and hoodies

Some new books, all with a Greek mythology theme;

^^ ooh what books? I had a bodyshop voucher from Christmas. Bought a face mask and a body butter. Can't believe the body butters 16quid. It's nice but I think I can get nicer stuff for that money. Last weekend we had an Indian takeaway. Rarely buy takeaway as it's soo expensive for what it is but we're not going anywhere so may as well

A bottle of Hendersons relish.

caperplips · 15/04/2020 15:29

I haven't really bought anything yet but i'm researching and eyeing some lovely things up. I am really lusting after a contemporary necklace with rubies in it. A pp mentioned that they are drawn to jewellery - I so totally identify with that.

I have bought teen dd some lovely pixi glow skincare that she really wanted.

I'm currently putting together a wine selection from a gorgeous independent company, now that I've learned they deliver.

I would like some new clothes but I'll wait a while for them (lockdown weight gain!)

We're doing loads in the garden and have some new planting areas identified so will be pressing ahead with that as well as reviving my super neglected herb garden.

Hardback copy of The Mirror and the Light by Hilary Mantel (I was in tears at the end)
A vintage Gap rainbow sweatshirt off eBay (quality was so much better pre 2000).
A handmade loo roll holder off Etsy.

I have seen a lovely dress on Toast website. I really want it but it is a bit pricey. Will keep looking to see if it goes in the sale.

BanKittenHeels · 15/04/2020 16:22

I’ve ordered a stationery subscription box and some clothes suitable for working from home.

A polytunnel for the garden. 12 x10footTo be fair I was going to order one after Easter anyways. I phoned and because its an essential business they are still taking order.
Delivery times are no that bad either. Hopefully up in time for summer veggies.
