So We're all stuck in as we know. I have a newborn and a 2.5yo, and DH wfh so most of my day is chaos with one millisecond of the day to myself. Oh and its my birthday this week (woooo).
I've not spent any money of late as DH does our food shop (I cover all bills and budgeted some spending money for mat leave). I am still in mat clothes thanks to not being able to get new ones I can fit in but I am comfy and reluctant to have to return items. I am generally not someone that spends money on myself, it mostly goes on the kids.

But like most, I am low and anxious, and want to 'treat' myself but no idea where to start in the current climate.

So has anyone treated themselves and if so what, why and did it work??

Bought trampoline & swing ball for the garden for the 5 year old ,some fruit trees, couple of yankee candles and some bits and bobs for my middle ds whose mid property purchase for his wee flat when he gets it. Am most excited about the dm's Grin

I just finished a Lego model and I'm saving up for a second hand Doctor Who set.

"I've ordered some skincare and makeup from Selfridges. I've got a Selfridges + account which means that for only £10 a year I get next day delivery! What a bargain."

I'm quoting my own post above, to say that the parcel should have been delivered this morning and according to DPD tracking it was. Guess what? I haven't received it. I've just got off the phone to DPD customer services who kept me on hold while they contacted the driver who is adamant that he delivered it. So it's his word against mine. That's over £111 I have lost, and if I re-order it's very likely to be the same driver who "re-delivers" (or doesn't) Sad

Bought new pans finally, we’ve needed new ones for at least 18 months.

I’ve had to buy myself new clothes, I’m 25 weeks pregnant and all of my clothes have started getting too tight so I bought a few maternity bits but nothing crazy.

Umnoway · 15/04/2020 13:21

@CustardySergeant contact Selfridges.

Scrumbleton · 15/04/2020 13:27

New tower fan, gas bbq, air conditioning unit, tv for bedroom. Glass end tables for drinks. Might as well have a cool and well fed And watered lock down.

ladybee28 · 15/04/2020 13:39

Oh @CustardySergeant that really sucks... can you take it any further?

I'm waiting for a wireless speaker (to drown out the sound of my neighbours infuriating reggaeton) and a new pair of slippers to replace my old faithfuls.

I've had my current beauties since 2016 and I love them, but they're just worn out these days and being at home all day means I'm actually noticing my feet starting to hurt from having no support!

I've also secretly ordered a nice-smelling candle and a soft jumper to be delivered to my DP's house. We're separated during lockdown and he's having a bit of a hard time, so I want him to have a nice surprise.

Phifedean123 · 15/04/2020 13:49

Discounted Easter egg, a Yankee candle and a bottle of wine in the Co op just now. Along with my essential bread Grin

Ethelfleda · 15/04/2020 13:52

Single malt whisky

CustardySergeant · 15/04/2020 14:12

Umnoway "contact Selfridges."

I finally managed to get through to Selfridges on the phone and they were able to send me a photo of my parcel on a doorstep! It wasn't my doorstep but at least we've got something to go on. I've printed the photo and my husband has gone back out again to see if he can track identify the house my parcel was left outside.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 15/04/2020 14:27

Some Rituals bath and body stuff.
And my favourite; a gel nail kit. I have cut my nails quite short but I’ve lusted after one of the lights for ages. It came with a selection of polish. This is this week’s colour.

TheChampagneGalop · 15/04/2020 14:28

A bunch of dildos.
I'm single, okay?

Sirzy · 15/04/2020 14:30

Running tights from sweaty Betty which I would never normally do and a new pair of running shoes.

ClientQ · 15/04/2020 14:34

Some bath stuff from here https://www.wildandwooduk.co.uk

CustardySergeant · 15/04/2020 14:35

I've got my parcel! Grin The person was who had it was expecting a parcel so took it in, but when they realised it wasn't theirs they said they were going to deliver it to me when they went out later. I am very reassured that in cases like this the technology exists to send me a photo of my parcel outside the house to which had been delivered. Also the people I spoke to at DPD and Selfridges couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. OK it took ages and ages to get through to someone on the phone in both cases, but it was worth it in the end. Smile

ClientQ · 15/04/2020 14:39

@allfurcoatnoknickers where did you get the joggers from? I'm after some new ones!

fairydustandpixies · 15/04/2020 14:44

A new Radley handbag - can't wait for it to be delivered!

Octopus37 · 15/04/2020 14:53

Some new eye shadows, a lipgloss and some make up
Brushes, all off eBay, about £10 in total. Also half price Easter eggs and some deli food for my virtual pub night with my friend tonight

sonicshoegazes · 15/04/2020 14:56

@@droganssmile thanks for the link! I've just got 2 nighties...they look lovely. Never heard of them before. 💜

HelloViroids · 15/04/2020 14:57

@Fluffybutter you can def make aperol spritzes without the soda water! Substitute extra Prosecco and make sure you have a good amount of ice - and just remember they’ll be a little be stronger than usual!Smile

Drogonssmile · 15/04/2020 14:59

You're welcome @sonicshoegazes Smile mines been dispatched today apparently. I can float around being all Victorian when it arrives!

MoonBlood · 15/04/2020 15:00

I bought myself a new maternity pillow which is worth it’s weight in gold! I’m 31 weeks and have had the best sleep in an absolute age the last few night’s! I also bought myself a tomato grow house because I can’t get to the allotment at the moment. I love both!

Drogonssmile · 15/04/2020 15:02

@Oilyoilyoilgob that one is next on my list!

REdReDRE · 15/04/2020 15:06

Piano and wine! And a lawnmower but only because the old one chose last week to pack up.

ImFreeToDoWhatIWant · 15/04/2020 15:08

My gin subscription this month contains the most expensive bottle of gin I've ever tasted, worth over £110! 😱 It's amazing but I wouldn't buy it at full price - the sub is only £40pcm 😁
