By whatever method ... been chatting to business owners on linkedin and there is a growing feeling that they've no intention of paying this and it's literally a bone been thrown to stop the plebs rioting whilst the lockdown occurs. The USA and Australia have put actual money into peoples accounts. We have been given interest occurring holidays and a promise

Same here. I claimed March NI but deducted April.

Anyone else had problems with the portal not letting you furlough all eligible staff?

Rugbylife · 20/04/2020 17:51

I used the business address not bank address, I also deducted employers NI due to allowance. Am I being thick, I have claimed 80% of gross figures as instructed but our payroll software told us to use 80% gross figure in furloughed pay then the usual tax, NI and pension contribution was deducted leaving a net figure due to employee but the figure HMRC will pay employer is gross, is the difference to be used to payback PAYE by the 22nd of the following month?

Comefromaway · 20/04/2020 18:23

You enter gross figures into the portal.

StatisticallyChallenged · 20/04/2020 19:03

That was my understanding - input gross, then put through payroll and send some of it back to HMRC!

userxx · 20/04/2020 19:19

So the I'm entering £0.00 for employer's National Insurance due to the allowance?

Comefromaway · 20/04/2020 19:20

Assuming that the pay period you are claiming for is after 5th April, yes.

userxx · 20/04/2020 19:22

Yes it is, from April onwards?

userxx · 20/04/2020 19:23

Ok thanks for that.

Rugbylife · 04/05/2020 12:12

Just curious did you all get the furlough money through ok?

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/05/2020 13:38

Blessedly yes, ours came through bang on schedule.
