I think your post is misleading.....it wasn't JUST nurses it was public sector pay rises as a whole and was during nationwide austerity measures

CuriousaboutSamphire · 14/04/2020 10:06

May I remind you that the vote was against a Labour amendment to the Queen's speech, about 3 years ago.

This is utterly disingenuous, revision of history, basically a lie.

Its not even as if it is hard to find things that actually did happen. Why use half truths? Why not check facts before spreading them?

CeibaTree · 14/04/2020 10:09

Ok but these are the same people that managed to find £10,000 for each MP working from home recently, so I think your point about austerity is not really relevant - the money was there all along. I pointed this out about nurses in particular as this is what is most topical at the moment.

OP posts:
TheGreatWave · 14/04/2020 10:09

I've seen this , excessively, shared on FB. I am not quite sure what I am supposed to do. We know it happened, yet the Tories got in power with an overwhelming majority last year.

What exactly is that information supposed to make me do?

onanothertrain · 14/04/2020 10:09

WTF is your point?

Kljnmw3459 · 14/04/2020 10:11

Those who didn't care then, won't care now. They won't care after this pandemic either.

TheSkyIsFallingIn123 · 14/04/2020 10:12

Oh not another one thinking all MPs have been given £10,000 to WFH. They haven't. There are numerous threads about it

CuriousaboutSamphire · 14/04/2020 10:13

And they didn't find any money for each MP working from home. That's just another disingenuous twist of facts.... well discussed in other threads.

Stop letting yourself be taken in by charlatans. Think, so some research, find out the truth behind the headlines.

PotteringAlong · 14/04/2020 10:14

They haven’t been given £10k to work from home...

Goingunderground2 · 14/04/2020 10:14

For goodness sake. Now is not the time to be spouting this shit. It's time to come together as a community.

I work for the nhs we are being paid you know. We don't face redunundancy like 1000s of the public.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 14/04/2020 10:15

And you didn't point out anything. You just c+pd a Facebook post. I suspect we've all seen it this morning

mrsbyers · 14/04/2020 10:16

What a load of shite , do some research instead of cutting and pasting Facebook posts.

CeibaTree · 14/04/2020 10:18

Ha! Ok, that's me told. Will fact check better in future! I think I'm just so pissed off that years of NHS and other public service cuts have come home to roost and now we are all stuck in lockdown to protect an over-stretched and underfunded service!

OP posts:
Goingunderground2 · 14/04/2020 10:19

Why not bash the public who waste the nhs time... that would solve a lot of the nhs problems.

EndlessUserName · 14/04/2020 10:20

Op I like your post. 'this is the time for coming together' is total bullshit. This is the time when we will finally realise how underfunded the nhs is, how the Tories have let us down time after time after time. We cannot ignore this. We cannot forget this. We must keep remembering and noticing and then do something about it once we can. Like not voting Torie.

EndlessUserName · 14/04/2020 10:20

And not voting Tory either!

ArnoldBee · 14/04/2020 10:21

The question here becomes .for you as an individual how much tax do you pay now and how much tax are you prepared to pay in the future?

Goingunderground2 · 14/04/2020 10:23

We do need to come togetherdo you actually know how the nhs is funded?

zsazsajuju · 14/04/2020 10:23

We would have had to lockdown anyway. Your post is fake news.

NoMorePoliticsPlease · 14/04/2020 10:23

All the time it took to type about a bit of deceptive reporting. Unfortunately it works. just as those who read a headline and a journalists lazy soundbite without exploring the truth of the whole story,
Redactin readacting. You only have to listen to the journalists questions after the daily briefing to get their thinking about tomorrows headline story. Hvaing had more time recently to floow journalists I have lost a lot of respect for them, including Radio 4 interviewers

DivGirl · 14/04/2020 10:24

Not this again, it's so boring and inaccurate.

If you fact check the "water cures coronavirus" Facebook shite, then sure you could have fact checked this (and if you didn't fact check the water thing look in to some critical thinking courses).

ChocolateDove · 14/04/2020 10:25

It doesn't matter. The public didn't care before and they won't care after. Guaranteed, a mere few weeks, maybe months, after all of this ends, there will be posts on here berating nurses and doctors again. We've already got a thread berating the police. Been several about how teachers suck.

As a nation, we will keep giving tories a majority and nothing will change.

Soubriquet · 14/04/2020 10:27

I feel like the OP is trying to tell us something...

Thesuzle · 14/04/2020 10:27

Are there not other countries who do more with less money than our NHS, it is too top heavy and yes the nurses are not paid enough

NoMorePoliticsPlease · 14/04/2020 10:27

AhA I over estimated the work of OP who did not write it out herself/himself but copied it from that well known font of accuracy knowledge and wisdom, FFFFFFFFacebook, who knew?
