To be absolutely furious over this?

I'm really genuinely angry right now.

Just been out to take my dog our for his walk. I rent a private field behind my house for my exclusive use. It has a big wooden gate and is padlocked.

Went out tonight and there's a family with two big dogs in there. Car parked outside, music blaring. Dogs are running wild. Two 8-10 yo boys.

They'd cut my padlock off and basically taken over the place. There's rubbish all over. Looks like they'd dumped a couple of bin bags.

I lost it and told them to leave. They refused, and the dogs they had were getting upset so I walked away and I've just reported them to the police. Have their car details and some photos. The call handler didn't seem terribly impressed with their behaviour and apparently they're sending someone out for a chat.

I'm honestly shaking with anger. Why do people have to ruin stuff? It's going to take me hours tomorrow to get it back into usable condition and it's putting me at risk. ☹️☹️☹️

Can't believe they cut the padlock. Some people are just selfish and only think of themselves. Hopefully the police have a word with them.

Thehop · 10/04/2020 20:37

That’s vile. I hope the police catch up with them

Thisismytimetoshine · 10/04/2020 20:37

They actually cut someone's padlock to have a picnic on obviously private land? Shock

wowfudge · 10/04/2020 20:39

Bloody hell - it's one thing to climb over a gate, but to cut the padlock off suggests this was planned.

Theuselessone · 10/04/2020 20:40

Awful. I'm so sorry for you and hope they get what they deserve

QuestionableMouse · 10/04/2020 20:40

Yeah. It wasn't a cheap one either so I'm doubly cross.

I have a feeling they've been in before to be honest. I noticed a bit of rubbish the other day but it was bin day and windy so dismissed it.

Bastards. ☹️

Bastards

Sunnysidegold · 10/04/2020 20:46

That is so rude. I really hope the police went and spoke to them op. It's be bad enough if they'd had to just open the gate to get in but the fact they cut your lock! Surely that's some sort of damage to your property? I'd be pursuing it.

Daisiest · 10/04/2020 20:46

Cutting the padlock is awful. How did they get in the other day?

I have a number and was advised to ring back tomorrow. I'm assuming they climbed over last time as there was no obvious damage aside from the mess.

Thinking about digging my electric fencing out and rigging that up. ☹️☹️☹️

Decent padlock, they should be dealt with for criminal damage. Caution would likely be fair.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 10/04/2020 20:51

Should have just called the police, sounds like you gave them a heads up. absolute scum OP

JasonPollack · 10/04/2020 20:53

Thisismytimetoshine · 10/04/2020 20:54

Oh do give it a rest.Hmm

I would go crazy. Bloody people, absolutely zero respect. Sorry OP.

Toothsil · 10/04/2020 20:59

I'm furious on your behalf! It made me angry just reading this - what makes people think this kind of behaviour is ok?!

Racist hate speech?!

QuestionableMouse · 10/04/2020 21:00

I probably should just have rang the police but I got video and photos before I said anything so they can't deny it. The police have their car details so will be able to find their address I guess.

Let the farmer know and he's furious too. He's parking his manure trailer in from of the gate to stop anyone else going in while it's unlocked.

They must have been driving round a bit because I live in the arse end of nowhere which is even more annoying.

And behind boys like that are parents who will argue the toss to the death.

GreyGardens88 · 10/04/2020 21:05

Bloody hell, yes take photos of their car and everything, but I wouldn't have left them alone until they left.
