I'm really genuinely angry right now.

Just been out to take my dog our for his walk. I rent a private field behind my house for my exclusive use. It has a big wooden gate and is padlocked.

Went out tonight and there's a family with two big dogs in there. Car parked outside, music blaring. Dogs are running wild. Two 8-10 yo boys.

They'd cut my padlock off and basically taken over the place. There's rubbish all over. Looks like they'd dumped a couple of bin bags.

I lost it and told them to leave. They refused, and the dogs they had were getting upset so I walked away and I've just reported them to the police. Have their car details and some photos. The call handler didn't seem terribly impressed with their behaviour and apparently they're sending someone out for a chat.

I'm honestly shaking with anger. Why do people have to ruin stuff? It's going to take me hours tomorrow to get it back into usable condition and it's putting me at risk. ☹️☹️☹️

Definitely get your electric fence up OP. That is awful.

AnnUumellemahaye · 10/04/2020 21:07

That is racist hatespeech @CrotchetyQuaver**

Explain how, exactly Jason

ifIwerenotanandroid · 10/04/2020 21:08

So sorry this has happened to you & the farmer. I think you've done the right thing. I hope they get done for damaging the padlock & fly-tipping the sacks of rubbish.

I'm glad you've got the farmer to back you up & add a bit of protection. This sort of thing is stressful; I hope you get it sorted out & the idiots don't come back.

CircleofWillis · 10/04/2020 21:09

I wouldn't have left them alone until they left.
I think the OP did the right thing by leaving. Their dogs were becoming agitated and the situation could have escalated.

AnnUumellemahaye · 10/04/2020 21:10

Why on earth were they dragging bags of rubbish in there with them? Confused were they there specifically fly tip do you think?

Eddielzzard · 10/04/2020 21:11

Outrageous! I hope the police do something about it. They shouldn't be allowed to get away with behaving so badly.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 10/04/2020 21:12

Who the heck is voting YABU??

letsdolunch321 · 10/04/2020 21:13

Scummy fuckers, what is it with people thinking they can do as they please.

Hope Karma bites there bastard arses

MissConductUS · 10/04/2020 21:15

Amazing cheek on their part. Please let us know what's happened after the police show up. It's criminal trespass and damage.

GreyGardens88 · 10/04/2020 21:16

I would have been happy to escalate the situation, maybe threatening to slash their tyres would have done the trick

boomchikawowwow · 10/04/2020 21:16

Arseholes!! I hope the police pay them a visit and charge them with criminal damage

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 10/04/2020 21:17

I bet they’re local! They’ve been at your field before because they knew to bring a cutter for the lock. Hope the police fine them massively.

Cutting the lock has to some form of criminal damage/breaking and entering?

TheArchSorcererofContwaraburg · 10/04/2020 21:19

I'd tell the landlord, too, in case they come back and really cause damage. Film everything, too.

Mammatino · 10/04/2020 21:20

Awful. Breaking into private property with your kids, parent of the year material there.

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 10/04/2020 21:20

*And behind boys like that are parents who will argue the toss to the death.

Boys like what? Confused 8-10 year olds?

QuestionableMouse · 10/04/2020 21:21

Staying didn't feel very safe- I was alone with my dog and the man was getting quite nasty. Plus they had two big bully type dogs. I'm normally a gobshite but I have sense too.

They've gone according to the farmer (who I bloody love, he's a family friend and is a fantastic man) but there's mess all over. He's taken more pics for me.

Why do fucking arse holes have to ruin stuff for everyone? I hadn't planned on cleaning up rubbish all day tomorrow. ☹️

OP posts:
Arnoldthecat · 10/04/2020 21:25

Its lucky they have gone. They could have remained there and you would have had to get bailiffs to move them just as they have to do with "travellers".

QuestionableMouse · 10/04/2020 21:26

Honestly don't think they were travellers or anything like. Just fucking idiots out for a lark at someone else's expense 😠😠😠

OP posts:
WifflyWaffle · 10/04/2020 21:31

They left trash because they ARE trash. Selfish, obnoxious people.

TaighNamGastaOrt · 10/04/2020 21:31

theres always arseholes OP. sounds like you've found some! Glad farmer has a handy manure trailer! Hope police can charge them with something.
Sorry you have to clean up their mess.

bridgetreilly · 10/04/2020 21:33

Yes, if you've got some electric fencing, I would definitely get that out.

People are the worst. I bet they wouldn't like it if you decided to go and have a picnic in their garden, or smash the lock on their front door.

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 10/04/2020 21:38

I bet they wouldn't like it if you decided to go and have a picnic in their garden

My dad’s uncle did this once years ago! Found a family picnicking in his field so he went over and instead of asking them to leave he struck up a conversation, nice and cheery, asked them if they were local, they said where they were from, he said he had a cousin lived there and asked which street they were on. They told him. He went back home. When they left he went and picked up their rubbish, bagged it, put it in his car with his family and picnic basket the following weekend and found their house, and he set up his picnic in their front garden. The man of the family was apparently apoplectic with rage and tried to manhandle Great uncle from the garden Grin

QuestionableMouse · 10/04/2020 21:44

I love that. 😂😂

OP posts:
phpolly · 10/04/2020 21:47

that story has cheered me up no end Chandler

tiredanddangerous · 10/04/2020 21:48

Does the farmer own a gun?
