To get up early on purpose

Just that really.. aibu to get up early on purpose so I have a good hour to myself where I can drink my coffee I absolute silence and i know I'll get stung for this but also sit on my garden bench and have a cigarette it is the only one I have in a day everyone knows I have it (family friends but not DS) , otherwise it's not a secret

I just really love the silence of early morning as the birds wake up and watching the dog wildly sniff the garden inspecting it to see if anything has been in his territory through the night it's quite hilarious. Does anyone else do this...

I can’t do it for some reason no matter what the time of year either a wasp finds me or if not a wasp a woodlouse spider (we have lots. I cannot cope with them)

DP is usually up at 6 and since lockdown has been coaxing me awake with a cup of tea at 7.45. I then enjoy a very peaceful half hour in bed. DP supervises DS, DD (14) sleeps for hours and the I do the evening things.. getting DS to bed etc.

YANBU OP half an hours peace before the day properly starts is lovely however you get it

Spuds he is 6 lol. But he just isn’t tired at the moment. He doesn’t go play in his room but inevitably keeps coming back down and eventually I go up to lay with him. I would get up earlier but my 1 year old is often up twice in the night. So am knackered.

Don't ruin that gorgeous morning air with a fag

Hey all..

Sorry late back I've been sorting through my junk drawer and doing other adulting shite.. do feel slightly guilty because my dh and ds are brilliant but us all being together this much is cracking me up a bit even though they havent done anything wrong or particularly annoying we just are not used to being around each other so much like a lot of people at the moment...

I'm not usually a morning person but the last 6 weeks since I started my anti depressants again I've naturally waking a few days a week at 4:30 by 5:15 I'm annoyed I cant get back to sleep so I get up and I've realised I've actually really enjoyed just having that hour or two on my own without dh and ds, it so have started setting my alarm at 5....

I know the smoking is disgusting and terrible.. I am going to buy some patches or gum when I go shopping on wednesday I did used to smoke 10 a day... so I know I can cut this last one!!

And yes to the poster I was extremely bored.... and thinking I dont know anyone that does this even my friends with children am I weird..

I'm glad I am not the only one that does this ...

To the poster who said about my morning cigarette and my neighbours I dont have any I live in a very rural area my closest neighbour is about 5 minutes wall away down a country lane. I wouldnt inflict my smoking on anyone else,

I call this a "miracle morning"
I used to do it but struggle to get out of bed at the best of times .
I know my luck, I'll set an alarm for an hour before DD usually wakes and she'll choose that day to wake up early.

@Donttellbut I read your thread this morning doing almost the same thing; it's been a great start to the day!

No kids here, but DP and I do not usually spend quite so much time together. I love a bit of time to myself. Sneaked out of bed before him -and the dog!- and had a coffee in the sunshine. Lovely, even with my coat on as a bit chilly! Feel very set up for my day now.

Donttellbut · 15/04/2020 11:55

@8Track it's been lovely just having an hour or two just to myself especially during lockdown... just me and the dog 😂
