I'm very new to mumsnet I only discovered it this year, after I had my first child and started to have some breathing space to do "me" things again.
I come here for the wit of the posters and the intelligent discussions that do come up, amidst some of the vitriol.
In my RL I have felt increasingly isolated as a former DINKY, whose friends have all got older kids. My RL local mum's groups aren't a good fit for me; age wise, in terms of life experience and at the risk of sounding horribly Hyacinth Bouquet, interest/education wise. Think the mothership of "the huns".
MN has given me a chance to virtually socialise with people I have a bit more in common with, other than we both have kids the same age.
I can't afford £50 a year right now, and in all honesty as much as I sympathise with them trying to keep afloat, the posters rather the site are what adds value.
MN functionality is clunky, out of date and moderation decisions should be more cohesive and transparent. So no not worth £5 a month in its current form.
