All the huns seem to be on that poundshop mumsnet, so it's probably doing mumsnet a favour.

I had a quick look and it doesn't seem to be 'huns' on there at all. It's much the same as here but with a lot more features.
If I was Justine I'd be getting a bit twitchy tbh and rightly so. I think she's shot herself in the foot with all this premium nonsense.

I've used mumsnet for years and was thinking about donating some money, but after using the "pound shop mumsnet" (which is more like harrods and mn like a pound shop) I think MN really need to up their game. dark mode, emojios, showing what threads you've read and going back to where you last read the thread is a game changer

My read threads haven't changed colour for months on here. There was a site stuff thread about it but it pretty much got ignored except for the usual " what browser are you using, we'll look into it" comments.

Quoting is just annoying that we have to copy then add the asterisks, you'd expect that in the 90s.

I like using a nice interface where I can click to quote, I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Mumsnet is dated beyond belief and I hate a two tiered system. Troll will pay for that so their posts stand

Crikey, I looked at that mums chat link and it's everything I hate. A whole screen full of stuff with room for only two lines of readable text! Don't fail MN, there's nowhere else for me to go! 😩

I had a look and am sure it’s just regular mners who were prompted to by the ask for £. I haven’t joined but can see why some have.

On formatting I prefer zero bells and whistles anyway.

This is the crux of the issue. Mners don't like being taken for fools, which is why I think that other site will take off big time.

That’s what I thought too @lockedinmadness until I read some of the comments on here. Must say though it’s enjoyable being able to discuss on here without an admin pulling the plug and deleting.

It also allows users to edit and quote, and doesn't appear to have any ads. For a site created so quickly it really is showing up how little functionality there is on MN.

I really won’t join up anywhere else. I posted on the other site just to see what it was like, but I’ll be looking to put a lot more effort into my offline life during and after lockdown, so I don’t see much benefit in shifting to another addiction.

I don’t begrudge Justine the money she’s made from her business - I’ve always been aware that it’s a business, not a charity. I don’t begrudge the wages bill and whatnot. That’s how it works. But I do begrudge paying when I, in fact, create the content that makes this place work, and further I resent the way in which women are not allowed to speak biological fact and/or loudly and robustly safeguard the rights and protections of girls/women/vulnerable children and youths. That’s just plain wrong. So I won’t pay.

As long as it doesn't go all Tattle, I've looked in there from time to time and they did get cross a line quite often and I felt a bit grubby reading some of the nastiest stuff. But if it's a pleasant atmosphere then I'd welcome somewhere new.

This place has gotten very acidic. I'd never post asking for personal help here in a million years. You have to be made of strong stuff to look for help on here. I joined in 2014, and it really was a much safer space then and I got lots of baby support. But it has gotten quite bad now, theres no denying it. I can't imagine who would pay.

I must admit i'm very surprised that NewHorizons2020 post is still there 5 hours later. I guess all the moderators are busy today.
