What do you wish you'd done before lockdown kicked in?

  1. taken my dog to the groomer - he's like a walking cloud Grin
  1. bought more Primark 'cosy leggings' for my youngest. She has a few sensory issues with clothing, and lives in these. Typically, they've gone all holey since lockdown, and I'm not sure sewing that fabric would work.

What about you?

  1. dog needs grooming
  2. bathroom was being replaced
  3. garden being renovated

All put on hold.... whaaaaa!

Aroundtheroaringcandle · 09/04/2020 20:09

I need a haircut, but I’ve been dithering about growing it long for ages but always stuck to my comfort zone and had it cut - this has given me the push to grow it out, as I’ll probably be halfway there before lockdown ends anyway!

ThePolishWombat · 09/04/2020 20:18

Got my mum (a hairdresser) to cut my hair Sad
It’s stupidly long - just about grazing the waistband of my trousers - incredibly thick, and needs a good 4 inches of split ends cutting off it. It’s so thick that I’ve broken a hairbrush this week Confused
It’s more manageable if it’s blowdried and straightened strait after a wash, but who’s got time for that with 3 kids at home?!!

BeenNeverSeen · 09/04/2020 20:47

Hugged my Mum & Dad one more time.
We’ve just shaved my son’s head with clippers to Grade 2 all over, quite like it 😂

OJZJ · 09/04/2020 20:50

Same as everyone else. Got my filling done, I delayed it for a couple of weeks then as it was lockdown and I am classed as medically vulnerable the dentist cancelled.my eye test is due now and both of my current glasses are scratched and knackered but I can't order a new pair online as pretty sure I need two different prescriptions, my hair looks terrible.... wish I had also bought a ton of compost, paint, and gardening stuff, stuff to do with my son and an exercise machine...
I also wish we had gone on holiday to Disney as I miss it and we won't be going at all this year by the looks of it (we live next to euro star so only a couple of hours away and I much prefer Disney to our theme parks even taking out the Disney parades etc it's cleaner, safer and the staff are a damn site friendlier plus it's not that expensive if you work it out against what you spend at local theme parks or even local independent amusement parks and I unfortunately have a thrill seeker of a child )

OJZJ · 09/04/2020 20:54

ThePolishWombat if it's long and just a basic cut you can brush it all uniformly forward and tie it in a band then roll the band down to where you want it and cut at that point, it can work really well of you do it properly. There are tutorials on you tube and also video fails of were people did it really badly Grin

Barmychick · 09/04/2020 20:55

Wish I'd booked New people to refurb my kitchen after others let me down last year., then I was in hosp for a while. Carpe deim

Sally2791 · 09/04/2020 20:58

I wish I’d bought more diy stuff, paint, sandpaper, wood etc.
Haircut- it’s in my eyes and not a straight cut style.
Made a will

Tinyandpetite · 09/04/2020 21:55

Had more sex Blush

Ontheboardwalk · 09/04/2020 21:58

Had a really nice, totally indulgent, meal out and ordered everything I could from the menu

angelfacecuti75 · 09/04/2020 22:01

Got my eyebrows done and had a haircut x

angelfacecuti75 · 09/04/2020 22:02

Ps I've cut my fringe myself but I never feel confident doing it properly and I like the shape that threading /waxing gives you.

Estheryan07 · 10/04/2020 01:37

Slept a whole day whilst my kids were at school - fit in as many clients as I could in February- de cluttered and gone to the tip & charity shop- bought pasta sauce or tinned tomatoes- had my haircut - had m kids hair cut - bought loads of kiddy arts and craft materials gone to the gym a few more times- gone swimming - sat in Costa drinking a coffee

justgivemewine · 10/04/2020 01:50

We couldn’t visit my parents and pil, who live along way away, at Christmas due to a physical but usually short term problem causing a lot of pain. We planned to go and visit this Easter instead. If I had the gift of foresight I’d have put up with the pain over Christmas.

HowCowBrownNow · 10/04/2020 09:34

@fieldofgreycorn
If you're not isolating co op has tinned chickpeas. Their own brand and also a another brand at half the price

I wish I had been to visit my daughter and her partner in Manchester for a weekend. They were busy before Christmas and I was skint earlier this year. Her birthday will be under Lockdown too.

Greggers2017 · 10/04/2020 09:45

Hairdressers and eyebrows. I was booked in but obviously they got cancelled.
I look a cross between Bert from Sesame Street and Hagrid from Harry Potter.

We have 3 dogs one is a cocker spaniel and looks like a bear at the moment, he was due to go for a groom.

DP has very curly hair and is now sporting a large fluffy Afro. His hair grows ridiculously quick at the best of time's.

And the cars are filthy inside and out and we can't get the hoover or hosepipe close enough to do it at home 🙈

Ipadipod · 10/04/2020 10:08

I wish I’d picked up some manure for my garden.

allaboardthesinkingship · 10/04/2020 10:12

Got a new set of lashes. I was booked in for them 😭🤦🏽‍♀️ that's about it. I get my eyebrows done every 3 weeks anyway so they're struggling now. Luckily I went from blonde to Brunette about 2 months before lockdown and I've just started colouring it myself so that's one thing not to worry about!

nestisflown · 10/04/2020 10:48

Picked up garden supplies and seeds to plant potatoes with the children. Have more time than ever to plant but no seed potatoes or carrots :( all sold out on wickes Sad

And got the children's feet measured... got no idea what size up to order.

Clutterbugsmum · 10/04/2020 10:59

Got the wallpaper and paint to decorate DD2 bedroom, bought the new furniture for her room, from Ikea.

It keeps being put back for the last 18 months. It is the first thing we are doing once we are allowed beck out into the wild.

Chillicheese123 · 10/04/2020 12:13

My dp has a man bun and it’s giving me anxiety 😅

lastqueenofscotland · 10/04/2020 12:18

Got my hair cut my god it looks woeful

Snorkelface · 10/04/2020 13:21

Could be worse Lastqueen - you could've got the best haircut of your life and no one gets to see it! Nows the time to experiment!

Forgottenwhatsleepis · 10/04/2020 15:16

I wish I'd bought DD2s first arts and crafts stuff before now, by the time I got round to it the day after schools shut, everywhere had sold out! Managed to get some online at hobbycraft today though, so bought £20 worth to get free home delivery!

Forgottenwhatsleepis · 10/04/2020 15:19

@nestisflown if you google UK-European children's shoe size there is an image that tells you what size they are depending on how many centimetres. I screenshot it recently so I'll try to upload
