What do you wish you'd done before lockdown kicked in?

  1. taken my dog to the groomer - he's like a walking cloud Grin
  1. bought more Primark 'cosy leggings' for my youngest. She has a few sensory issues with clothing, and lives in these. Typically, they've gone all holey since lockdown, and I'm not sure sewing that fabric would work.

What about you?

Gone to my hairdressers a week earlier. I was due in on the Friday of the week we went into lockdown, so missed it just

Areyouactuallyseriousrightnow · 09/04/2020 17:58

Gone out for that once in a blue moon wild night out with friends, that I couldn’t be arsed with and made up an excuse for.

mypoorfurbaby · 09/04/2020 17:59

Hair cut.
I have short pixie hair and was due a 7week cut the day after lockdown.
It looks really bad now and I still have to work and see people every day- seriously contemplating the clippers

MaterEstIratus · 09/04/2020 18:01

Moved to the coast. Or more realistically bought a hot tub. Or even more realistically gone on a huge garden centre plant spree...

Kayagh · 09/04/2020 18:18

Bought a gas bottle for the house ran out today and it was a total performance they couldn’t deliver til two weeks time but I could collect then couldn’t find the spanner to undo hose and those bad boys are really heavy but mum won’t did all on my own while cursing husband stuck at sea for not listening or tidying his tool box

Kayagh · 09/04/2020 18:19

Mum win even

deandra · 09/04/2020 18:19

You can remove it yourself if you have a proper hand scaler (sickle scaler) like the dentist would use...can be bought from Amazon or eBay. Just be careful not to traumatise your gums. For prevention of further build up, you need to make sure you brush ALL tooth surfaces, including backs of teeth and floss daily to prevent interdental build up.

Mmpip · 09/04/2020 18:19

Stocked up on flour and pasta......

Actionhasmagic · 09/04/2020 18:21

I cancelled my hairdresser mid March in London because of the virus! Wish I had made it in time

rainbow1982 · 09/04/2020 18:22

Definitely bought more maternity clothes! I'm 32 weeks and living in the same 2 (now rather tatty) pants and giant t shirt!! I know I could order online but I've tried n the sizes are never quite right, mind you I'm not going anywhere so who cares? Forget I said anything 🤣😂

LoveBeingAMum555 · 09/04/2020 18:22

I wish I had brought my computer monitor and laser printer home to use with the laptop. Also wish I had hugged my parents last time I saw them, and bought flour!

GinDrinker00 · 09/04/2020 18:24

Wish I had taken that visit to see my family after Christmas.. and to the hair dressers I’m considering cutting it myself it’s that bad. 😂

Idontbelieveit12 · 09/04/2020 18:26

Bought things to upcycle the kitchen, got the wooden pallets that my husband had been collecting at work to make stuff for the garden. Bought a trampoline 🤣

skodadoda · 09/04/2020 18:28

Got a haircut!

Chocolation · 09/04/2020 18:29

Taught my grandad in law how to use video calling so he can still see his great grandchildren. We normally visit evey 4 -6 weeks and watching them always makes him smile. He’s 94 so worried we won’t get to see him again.

torthecatlady · 09/04/2020 18:31

I would've had my hair done, got decorating supplies and taking all of the stuff we no longer want to the charity shop. Probably would've gone out for a meal too.

RoryGillmoresEvilTwin · 09/04/2020 18:33

Had a haircut and sorted my roots out...I look a complete state
Bought more comfortable clothes for me and ds.
Stopped smoking!! I'm starting tomorrow.

elfycat · 09/04/2020 18:50

Got the varifocal glasses I need for the first time.
Got rid of the old sofa down the dump (taking up half the garage)

I ordered stuff online just before everyone else seems to have, things are now out of stock. So printer ink, seeds, compost (my DD's topic this term will be 'plants')

I managed to see my parents at half term, had my genetics counselling/blood test + went to a warehouse to stock up for my small online shop on the Monday before everything started being cancelled, and already have paint to do the garage.

jenkel · 09/04/2020 18:56

Wish the home office that we have had half installed was finished, they e even locked it and taken away the key, all we can do is look and dream, how cruel was that,

Uptheshard · 09/04/2020 18:57

Had lots of sex with my new bf. Bloody missed out there ! Now its just wishful.thinkingWink

StuntNun · 09/04/2020 19:02

I wish I'd had the piano tuned. My DS2 and DS3 are doing their practice and it sounds terrible.

clareken260 · 09/04/2020 19:07

@Dieu try George at Asda, or Boots. Their children's clothes go up to 5-6, if that is any use. Was going to get my DGD some, 3x packs of 2 for £13.

Lucyccfc68 · 09/04/2020 19:10

I had my bedroom decorated and it was finished 2 weeks before lockdown. I put off the joiner coming with my new wardrobe doors and now wished I hadn't. They are sat in his garage and my lovely bedroom doesn't feel quite finished.

Scottsy100 · 09/04/2020 19:11

Got our garden finished as now we probably have to endure the whole summer with a hill of earth in the garden and an unfinished patio

Dragontrainer · 09/04/2020 19:17

@bringonyourwreckingball - re: the Iphone - have you double checked all recent updates have installed on your phone? I had a similar issue, solved it by manually authorising an update I was totally unaware of (found in settings) then was able to set up face recognition again!
