What do you wish you'd done before lockdown kicked in?

  1. taken my dog to the groomer - he's like a walking cloud Grin
  1. bought more Primark 'cosy leggings' for my youngest. She has a few sensory issues with clothing, and lives in these. Typically, they've gone all holey since lockdown, and I'm not sure sewing that fabric would work.

What about you?

@agentdaisy try homebase. They had 3 for 2 on their coloured paint, with free delivery. Delivery is around 10 days, but could be worth a try

agentdaisy · 08/04/2020 18:15

@ChocolateTea thanks I'll try there. I don't mind waiting for delivery, I can get the prep done while I'm waiting.

Florencenotflo · 08/04/2020 19:46

Thank you so much @Mumof2bears that's very kind of you, but although Dd is only 4 she's in age 5 or 5-6 clothes. She's as tall as my neighbours 6.5 year old.

She'll be fine, it's not like we're going anywhere! DH found a pair of trainers in sainsburys earlier and her croc sandals do still fit her from last year. She's been wearing the shorts from some new pj's I'd bought and stashed away! You can't tell they are pj's and it's only our back garden.

Cheeseismylife · 08/04/2020 20:01

Denist.
I need a root canal and now I can't have it :(

Cheeseismylife · 08/04/2020 20:02

Dentist!

bringonyourwreckingball · 08/04/2020 20:11

Seen my doctor. My high blood pressure is out of control.
Got my iPhone fixed. The face recognition isn’t working, it’s a minor thing but driving me mad.
Stocked up on printer paper from work.
Bought hair dye

Mumof2bears · 08/04/2020 20:25

@Florencenotflo sounds like we both have tall daughters! We often do the 'summer pyjama bottoms worn as day time shorts' thing too :-). Glad you are sorted enough :-)

orangejuicer · 08/04/2020 20:34

Sadly dieu I am not joking.

Echo all the family hugging ones above.

Also wish I'd had a massive Starbucks caramel latte with cream, it's always fun being off my tits on caffeine

Emmagainno3 · 08/04/2020 20:51

I’m not in the Uk but we can still go to drs here, have just seen a few people comment on smears being overdue and above with high blood pressure . Maybe if you called your surgery and asked for a repeat prescription?
Here in Ireland it’s even being advertised on the radio for people to not ignore other ailments and still go/contact their dr as normal.

MigginsMs · 08/04/2020 22:24

I can still get repeat prescriptions but the smear programme is suspended for 3 months @Emmagainno3. I wonder how many deaths are going to result from not bothering with any other testing or treatment other than for the virus.

Comefromaway · 08/04/2020 22:26

I wish I’d chased up ds’s adhd assessment sooner as I was told the results would be available and a discussion had about how to proceed the following week. (End of Feb). Now all adhd assessments have been suspended for the foreseeable future.

CoodleMoodle · 08/04/2020 23:13

Got MIL to cut both DS and DH's hair. DH resembles a sheep. DS is 21mo - I can put his hair in a ponytail, and the fringe is in his eyes. I did try to trim it but he was so wriggly that I didn't really make any difference.

And bought the DC some summery clothes. DS definitely won't fit in last year's stuff, and DD might get away with her dresses when it's really hot, but she's got no shorts, leggings or short sleeved tshirts. Neither of them have shoes that fit, apart from Crocs (I bought DS some in Sainsbury's when I had to go yesterday), warm trainers and wellies.

purplerainpitcher · 09/04/2020 17:26

bought the paint for our living room. Now i've been staring and paint tester squares over the walls for nearly 3 weeks.

Pliudev · 09/04/2020 17:33

Gone to Barcelona to see my grandsons. Wouldn't have minded getting stuck there either.

Lincolnfield · 09/04/2020 17:34

Definitely hairdressers! I’m starting to look like Worzel Gummage - and had a battery put in my watch. 🙁

GatoFofo · 09/04/2020 17:40

Visited my parents, had my gel nails removed, dog grooming, lost weight prior to constant lockdown eating.

Natsku · 09/04/2020 17:40

Thanks to those on this thread reminding us that we can still sort wills and stuff, I have emailed a lawyer about making a petition to court so that my OH can be a legal guardian of DD so if the worst happens she will get to stay at home.

Now if only the hairdresser could operate via email...

And I just discovered one other thing I wish I had done before, and that was get the children new summer shoes. Have had to order online and hope they fit otherwise it'll be crocs only all summer

user1472151176 · 09/04/2020 17:42

Got gardening supplies to start my veg garden

HowCowBrownNow · 09/04/2020 17:45

Bought Tina of mock chicken form the Chinese supermarket. Got a smart TV so I can see online fitness instructors on the big screen.

Livingoffcoffee · 09/04/2020 17:46

Moved!
We were (are) mid-way through the process. Would've been so much nicer being in a bigger house with bigger garden! Sigh

iluvnettletea · 09/04/2020 17:46

Had the kitchen skylight windows cleaned.

Cattenberg · 09/04/2020 17:51

Had my hair cut
Had a dental check up
Bought loads of flour. Wholemeal flour for baking and white flour for play dough. Lots of flour. Any flour. It’s unavailable here.

ridinglilli · 09/04/2020 17:51

Bought flour .... that is all!!!

Itscoldouthere · 09/04/2020 17:56

Exchanged contract on our house sale, now we are stuck not know what’s happening, don’t know if I should pack or not, if the sale will fall through or not.

lily2403 · 09/04/2020 17:56

Bought paint and gardening things
