What do you wish you'd done before lockdown kicked in?

  1. taken my dog to the groomer - he's like a walking cloud Grin
  1. bought more Primark 'cosy leggings' for my youngest. She has a few sensory issues with clothing, and lives in these. Typically, they've gone all holey since lockdown, and I'm not sure sewing that fabric would work.

What about you?

Gosh, I don't think so. But I will check it out!

Got my hair cut. It needed doing about a month ago, I look a total state!

Danglingmod · 07/04/2020 22:30

Bought more houseplants.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 07/04/2020 22:30

Ooh yeah, hugged my mum. That too.

slavetolife · 07/04/2020 22:30

Bought some bloody decking! It's all I need to finish my garden and I feel annoyed every time I look at it!

starrynight19 · 07/04/2020 22:31

Got my nails done , dentist appointments for kids done as already been cancelled once.
Bought garden paint and plants.
Haircuts for ds / dp

giftponderings · 07/04/2020 22:32

@slavetolife

Are there any local garden centres who could deliver to you?

PorpentinaScamander · 07/04/2020 22:32

Actually arranged for my friend to come round for a fuck rather than vaguely mentioning we'd meet up at some point Grin

WellTidy · 07/04/2020 22:33

Gone to see my parents. Saw my mum about a month ago but haven’t seen my dad since Christmas. They feel a very long way away.

Taken the Dc for haircuts. Eldest’s hair grows outwards rather than down and is quite thick.

Bought more gloss/eggshell to go with the litres of emulsion that I bought.

Installed a greenhouse. Would love to grow from seed but cannot as no windowsills (sash windows).

Had a spring clean by a professional cleaning firm. It would have tided me over for a bit! The house really needs a thorough clean and with DH and I balancing work and the DC’s needs, it isn’t going to get one. It feels like only yesterday that I cleaned the bathroom and loos but it was last Thursday so they need to be done again. Time is going by so fast for us.

Nothing. I knew where things were headed, so fully prepared as much as I could do. All had hair cuts, mine was coloured 1 week before salons closed. Bought clothing for casual wear and pjs. Stocked up with crafts and garden toys. Bought a laptop for kids learning. Stocked up on all my toiletries and make up. Bought 3 months worth of contact lenses. All my regular meds are stocked. Vitamins stocked.

I had to self isolate for 2 weeks, but struggled in the last 3 days with food supplies, but the house isn't big enough to have a large freezer or anything. Tiny kitchen, not much storage. But now trying to ensure we have enough in for 2 weeks food now.

I do tend to do this anyway, like always having at least 1 extra of all regular stuff in use. So it isn't unusual for me.

Haircut

OddlyDesserted · 07/04/2020 22:34

OP you can buy a set of the scraping tools. I got mine from boots but Amazon probably sell them.

I have a gap between my front teeth that gets plaque build up and I just use the little hook shaped scraper tool (I'm sure it has a proper name!) and it works brilliantly. I'm not sure I'd try to do my whole mouth though, I'm only comfortable doing it because of the space of the gap if you see what I mean?

Silversun83 · 07/04/2020 22:34

@Egghead68 - I upgraded my phone online last week (and I received it the next day! 🤷‍♀️) so depending on what you're after, you could probably still do that.

safariboot · 07/04/2020 22:34

Deed poll. I've been meaning to do it for ages but I keep finding excuses to put it off. I want it done before I get some professional certs, so that they're in my new name. (Not that I could take the exams until Covid goes away anyway).

WellTidy · 07/04/2020 22:35

Greebo Clarks are delivering to home. I bought trainers and canvas shoes for the DC in a half size up so that we have them in.

ThisMustBeMyDream · 07/04/2020 22:35

I started it in 2015 btw when my ex husband left whilst I was pregnant. My toddler came down with norovirus that kept us stuck in the house for 2 weeks. We had no help back then either. So it helped me get enough supplies to last if similar happened again.

BrandyandBabycham · 07/04/2020 22:36

Hugged my Mum & Dad more 😥
Gone out for a meal for my friend’s birthday - I couldn’t really afford it but now really wish I’d just had dessert & a drink
Had my eyebrows & chin waxed
Had a haircut
Not bought so much jewellery, Avon stuff etc in the recent past as now I would have more money plus I rarely went out anyway to wear any of it
Gone to more gardens as now they’re closed & I so want to see the beautiful Spring flowers.

Florencenotflo · 07/04/2020 22:36

Got dd1 some summer clothes and some trainers or sandals. I dug out last years summer stuff thinking it might be ok, the t-shirts are like crop tops and the shorts are ridiculous 😂 she's only 4 and will still wear what ever I get out for her, but even she said to me 'Mummy I think these are a bit small'. She's easily grown 2 inches since summer and a whole shoe size at least.

She's got a couple of short sleeved dresses but she'll have to manage in her boots until DH goes to Tesco for food shopping and can pick up some cheap trainers. Luckily we're not going anywhere and she can go barefoot in the garden!

DoTheNextRightThing · 07/04/2020 22:37

Finished decorating my spare room - it currently doesn't have a bed 😭😂

mummyje20 · 07/04/2020 22:37

@Dieu I have a pair of cosy leggings I've worn maybe once? That I'd be willing to send to you if you get desperate- obviously depending on size!

mangocoveredlamb · 07/04/2020 22:37

I wish I’d actually arranged to see my thyroid consultant. I’m out of meds and they’re not available on the nhs. 😳

AntiHop · 07/04/2020 22:38

Had my overdue smear.

UnhappyMondays · 07/04/2020 22:38

Nails and eyelashes removed.

(The MN-disapproved extensions, not the full shebang of each Wink)

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 07/04/2020 22:38

Taken the dog to the groomer. She's due and she hates the heat

Been groomed myself
Stocked up on guilty treats snacks cupboard
Brought some more comfortable for the time of year at home clothes
Just got more stuff in to help with boredom

Bdayupset · 07/04/2020 22:39

Bought a magnifying mirror. My eyebrows and upper lip Shock. My husband called me Pedro the other day. I know I could get one online, but I'm reluctant to make unnecessary purchases, and also don't want to spend what money we have left on something as trivial. I'll just have to stop looking in the mirror full stop.

Threading lady gonna be rich after this shit is over.

Also, I wish I'd gone to M&S and bought some Knickers. Mine have massive holes in, its embarrassing (and they've been like it for several weeks/months Blush)
