What do you wish you'd done before lockdown kicked in?

  1. taken my dog to the groomer - he's like a walking cloud Grin
  1. bought more Primark 'cosy leggings' for my youngest. She has a few sensory issues with clothing, and lives in these. Typically, they've gone all holey since lockdown, and I'm not sure sewing that fabric would work.

What about you?

@mangocoveredlamb

Are you are you on Armour thyroid?
My gp prescribes it - if a consultant recommends it gps
almost always prescribe it because it off loads responsibility to
the consultant.
I'd ph the consultant's secretary anyway and see what they can do.

catsarelifetome · 08/04/2020 11:38

Had a hair cut

MyleneFarmer · 08/04/2020 11:48

@Egghead68 check if you can upgrade online? I have upgraded last week and got a new phone delivered by courier the next day. Im with EE if that helps

MooseBreath · 08/04/2020 11:51

Bit the bullet and got the dog. DH and I have been on the fence for years and there will be someone at home even after the lockdown ends. Now would've been a great time to integrate a canine family member!

Lancashire police issued a fine to a chap who went out for a lawn mower this week

Oh well I guess £30 on a price of a lawnmower isn't a big deal.

Muminabun · 08/04/2020 11:58

Completed and paid for my next clothes order online. Ordered a load of craft stuff for my daughter. I was low on both.

StarlightLady · 08/04/2020 12:02

In no particular order, hairdresser, bought that sun lounger l was considering for the garden, had lots more sex!

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 08/04/2020 12:16

Thank you so much, @Queenest. Luckily, we had stocked up on important things like duty-free Champagne so am currently feeling no pain!
So, does this mean I have to sing Happy Birthday to Me 64 times today whilst washing my hands? Or what?

iklboo · 08/04/2020 12:22

Been to the hairdresser, been for a massage, gone to the coast or local NT park for a walk.

CarolineIngalls · 08/04/2020 12:25

Had my carpets cleaned!

Between home based yoga, fitness, and playing with a toddler I am very aware of how disgusting my carpets are. Henry the hoover is not enough.

Before the next pandemic I am going to clean my carpets and get new glasses.

Itwasntme1 · 08/04/2020 12:32

Bought paint - I really need to repaint the living room. And now 5at I am spending so much time there it is driving me up the wall!

Got a screen for my laptop. I got a stand thing which helps, but I could really use a bigger screen.

My hairdresser is difficult enough to get into when he is open. Once the lockdown is cancelled there will be a stampede to get in because he is the owner.

I went just before the lockdown and he was receiving calls every few mins from clients cancelling their appointments. I told him just wait until you reopen (and could he tell me first so that I can book in!).

I will take another stylist if required, I will be that desperate! I am only working part time now having had nearly 40 years working full time but I cannot do anything with the spare time!

Had a haircut, gone to the opticians, bought a new freezer or fridge freezer, bought new shoes.

Itoldyouiwasill · 08/04/2020 13:18

Had the glass panes in my greenhouse replaced when they smashed in the last storms ( full sized panes that I'd meticulously removed)

Sn0tnose · 08/04/2020 13:28

Bought new taps for the bathroom as soon as the plumber told me he couldn’t just fit a new washer. Got my nails done. Had my stair carpet cleaned. Taken stuff to the tip. Got my mechanic relative to look at the car. Ooh, and had a last couple of takeaways.

Tomorrowsanewday · 08/04/2020 13:28

Taken DS to the barbers for a haircut.
He was starting to do the head flick so in desperation I ‘trimmed’ it myself.
Think Jim Carey from Dumb and Dumber.
Thank goodness for isolation and the fact he’s at the age where he doesn’t go near any mirrors.

BraveLittleDragon · 08/04/2020 13:33

Had a bikini wax. I have a small bear cub down there now and I am on the Shielding list and extremely worried I will end up in hospital, being catheterised.

Gone to visit my grandparents (and my parents).

Sorted out some home exercise stuff.

Gone on holiday.

GinnyStrupac · 08/04/2020 13:37

Perhaps the time has come to reclaim Lady Gardens.

Moreisnnogedag · 08/04/2020 13:46

Got haircuts for the kids - I’ve done them today, and it’s something special
Bought more yarn
Bought garden things - yes I know I can online order but it’s not the same
Got someone in to check why our conservatory roof is leaking

onetwothreeadventure · 08/04/2020 13:53

Got my highlights done, chose paint colors and given my mum a proper hug the last evening she was round.

Ponoka7 · 08/04/2020 13:55

Went to the dentist, I'm going to lose a tooth because of this.
Went for an eye test and got new glasses.
Went for my Vitamin B injection.
Went to the garden centre for plants.
Took everything to the charity shop that needed to go.
Used my Primark and Debenhams vouchers.
Put my green garden bin out.
Restarted my diet. I'm now stress eating.

ChocolateQuiltedShitPig · 08/04/2020 13:55

Been to the tip and got a hair cut.
Put both off and now look where that's got me. Also I wish I had taken dog to the groomers. I've given her a home hair cut and it looks, and I can not state this strongly enough: absolutely awful

MigginsMs · 08/04/2020 13:56

Had my smear test, I booked it as soon as I got my letter but it was cancelled :(

Ponoka7 · 08/04/2020 13:56

Got my male cat neutered.
