Holiday in turkey june- still going ahead?

Just wanted ppls opinion as I know nobody knows for sure yet but I'm booked to go on holiday mid june what do you think are the chances of it going ahead? I've paid in full and booked it before the virus came to light so should be covered by my insurance if its cancelled.
Had no correspondence from the holiday company I've booked it with but I know it's a bit early for them to know.

Nope

WickedlyPetite · 06/04/2020 20:12

No. Not a chance.

OuterMongolia · 06/04/2020 20:13

We can't be sure at this point. Probably not but you never know!

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 06/04/2020 20:13

Not a chance. Is it a package? You might get a refund without needing an insurance claim

MouthBreathingRage · 06/04/2020 20:13

I will be shocked if it goes ahead. I genuinely think there's more chance you'll win the lotto before your holiday goes ahead in June I'm afraid.

Duchessofblandings · 06/04/2020 20:13

No

Blueblackrose · 06/04/2020 20:13

No

happyandsingle · 06/04/2020 20:14

Yes it is a package holiday.Well hopefully I'll get the chance to move it to later in the year if they give me that option.

I doubt it.

We're due to be going to Cape Verde in July and aren't thinking it will happen.

Thedogscollar · 06/04/2020 20:18

10000% No. Sorry but it's just not realistic to expect this at all.

HermioneWeasley · 06/04/2020 20:19

Nope

happyandsingle · 06/04/2020 20:22

Oh well just one of those things.Just hope as many people as possible ome through this virus unharmed, that's the most important thing.

I’m booked also for last week in June.
I know it’s highly unlikely that we will be going.
I hadn’t taken out holiday insurance yet and have paid half my holiday balance £1800. I’ve no idea where I stand money wise if I will get a refund or not. I’m not cancelling yet and waiting to see what First Choice do. I’d rather have a refund as I could do with the money as I’m not working however I’m happy to accept the same holiday next year.

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 06/04/2020 20:27

We're supposed to be going abroad in August and I've already resigned myself to the fact we won't be going. June? No chance sorry ☹️

CherryPavlova · 06/04/2020 20:27

Not much chance at all.

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 06/04/2020 20:27

The FCO have changed their advice to only travel if essential to indefinitely now.

wholelottahistory · 06/04/2020 20:27

We are booked the first week of july to Turkey. The balance is due this month and we are still going to pay it.
We will get a refund if it we cant travel.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 06/04/2020 20:28

No, family and friends live in Turkey,

Turkey is about 4-5 weeks behind the UK, they are looking at July before introducing normality.

Buster72 · 06/04/2020 20:33

I am booked for a holiday early June
Leaving it till June before I decide to cancel or not.
I don't know what my insurance situation is as we booked a private villa and flights seperate.
Fully expect to lose 3k

alltoomuchrightnow · 06/04/2020 20:35

no, how can you even q that?

mathanxiety · 06/04/2020 20:42

Of course it's not happening.

They are arresting people for just going outside in Istanbul.

mathanxiety · 06/04/2020 20:43

Contact the travel company asap before they go tits up,and get your money back. Don't wait for them to contact you.

Darbs76 · 06/04/2020 20:43

Most likely not. You’ll have to wait until nearer the time though for confirmation. No point contacting anyone about it now as they are dealing with people meant to go this week

JohnCo · 06/04/2020 20:47

I'm retired, we have holidays in our caravan booked all year. I've cancelled or rather changed to next year, all up to mid June. I hope by then things will be "normal" again

Sennetti · 06/04/2020 20:49

even if travel is reinstated, the travel industry won't just spring back!

will take times for hotels and resorts to recover
