To ask for your favourite potato salad recipe?

I have been looking online all morning and there are so many variations! I'd like to get going ASAP so that potatoes can cool down before our BBQ later on.

Just to be clear, we have frozen burgers and I found a BBQ tray the we didn't use last year. I will not be leaving the house!

mine is chopped new potatoes with their skins left on chopped red onions and mayonnaise salt and black pepper

The above but swap red onions for spring onions 😀

I will never find a better one than my MILs - she makes a lot of it living in Australia with all the BBQs.

While hot pour over some french vinaigrette dressing - then let cool
Chopped hard boiled egg
Spring onions
Mayo
Salt and pepper

Skin on baby potatoes, finely chopped red onion or shallot and mayonnaise spiked with mustard powder. You need to mix up the mayo and mustard in advance and let it sit for a while to really get the flavour.

New potatoes, skin on

Mayonnaise
Whole grain mustard

Or just potatoes, mayonnaise and mint sauce.

I had potato salad in a cafe recently where the potatoes were mashed.

At first I was a bit repulsed by the idea if I'm honest, but once I was brave enough to try it, it was surprisingly nice! It appeared to be mashed with mayonnaise and chives.

But actually, skin on new potatoes is the nicest I think, with a mayonnaise dressing with some chopped gherkins and some seasoning.

I HATE mayonnaise - I use creme fraiche. Yummy.

Baby potatoes, sweet potatoes cut into chunks, mustard, mayonnaise, spring onions. Add red kidney beans and/or chopped, hard-boiled eggs if you like.

I use sour cream & chive.

Bacon! So new potatoes, spring onions, mayo, loads of salt and pepper, and crispy bacon bits.

I put chopped capers in mine

Mashed potatoes, chopped up celery, red onion and carrots, peas, loads of salad cream, salt and pepper. Divine, the veggies make it crunchy, while the potatoes are creamy

This, much nicer.

Chopped in small pieces: boiled potato (pour juice from pickles over when still hot), boiled carrot, hard-boiled egg. Mix in a bowl. Add grated pickles, salt, pepper. I mix mayo and mustard on a side so it's properly mixed and then add to the main bowl. Add vinegar or pickle juice to taste.
It's actually Christmas one, but works well with bbq

I thought I was the only one who used the juice!!

Garlic and rock salt mashed to a paste. Whisk in the zest and juice of a lemon. Stir in a spoon of green n mustard. Whisk in olive oil.

Tip over warm potatoes and sprinkle chopped spring onion and chive over.

Yummy hot or cold.

The only kind of potato salad is German potato salad. No mayo!
You pour warm oil and vinegar (mustard if you like) on the potatoes while they’re still hot so they suck up the flavour, then garnish with whatever you like but onions, capers, crispy bacon are nice. Play around with it.

Skin on new potatoes, chopped hard boiled egg and spring onions mixed with about 2/3 mayo and 1/3 salad cream. Never thought to add bacon but that sounds incredible 🤤

Or lidl do a tub that’s lovely (next weekly shop shall be lidl wonder if they are still do their country specials Greek week is the best week)

@cultkid the juice is heaven! Whoever wastes the juice, doesn't deserve the pickles
