Ghost in house

Tp93 · 04/04/2020 11:46

So I was house sitting tonight by myself just to feed the person's fish and leave. They have "joked" about seeing a ghost who stands in the corner of their verandah outside (I'm in Australia) and to my surprise I see him standing right fucking there!!! He was facing towards the sky then slowly turned to me and just started staring at me I never looked away from him but had my phone in my hand and quickly took this. Anyway, to not identify myself or show the persons hoise contents, I have zoomed in the photo.
The front door to leave was behind me so I just walked backwards to the door not taking my eyes off of him and he continued to look at me then as I put my hand on the door handle he vanished! Completely shocked right now I don't think I'll sleep. And yes i was alone and no one else came with me!

OP you know what you saw and many of us believe you but you can’t be surprised that you have a few people saying they don’t believe it.

I’m interested in updates if you do go back or get info from your neighbour!

MrsJoshNavidi · 05/04/2020 11:53

Has anyone ever seen the "ghost" not through a window? So been outside on the verandah when he's appeared on the verandah? Or has he only ever appeared through a window?

PutThemInTheIronMaiden · 05/04/2020 15:17

Not holding my breath for any convincing footage.

Purpleclownsuit · 05/04/2020 16:14

😂😂😂

Sallycinnamum · 05/04/2020 17:24

I had to wait until afternoon to view this picture (awake in the early hours of the morning).

My lovely non-woo, totally straight down the line DH swears blind he encountered a ghost years ago. He has only spoken about it once and it still scares the living shit out of him.

That photo OP sent a shiver down my spine.

ThinkPink71 · 05/04/2020 17:53

omg....looks like beetlejuice...scary

Itsjustthesame · 05/04/2020 19:11

He looks like BeetleJuice to me Grin

Katinski · 05/04/2020 19:31

But what does Birdie Friend think of it?

FlossieTeacakesFurCoat18 · 06/04/2020 08:51

If it was a video people would still say it was fake.

If they'd seen it themselves they'd say they hallucinated.

If a group of people saw it they'd say it was a mass hallucination.

You can't win OP! 😆

CarolinaPink · 06/04/2020 09:23

Ooh, interesting OP! Thanks for posting. Please do update if you go back :)

Tp93 · 06/04/2020 09:29

@FlossieTeacakesFurCoat18 exactly 🤣

I would have SHIT myself and I wouldn’t be going back either. An old house I lived in had a little girl ghost but I never saw her, she just moved things and did things.

Yorkshirelass04 · 06/04/2020 09:56

It's amazing how many people know and can clarify to posters what exists and what doesn't. Who would have thought there were so many experts in science and ontology on these boards?

Emeeno1 · 06/04/2020 09:59

Why would any ghost look through glass? There are no physical barriers for them, surely they would just come through in to the room if they wanted to see you? It seems strange, still human behaviour.

If I return as a ghost I will not be staying outside looking through windows!

LolaDarkdestroyer · 06/04/2020 10:05

He didn't come in due to social distancing.

RoseLalique · 06/04/2020 10:22

I had an experience once where I saw a ghost not two metres away from me. I lay awake properly staring at it for a very long time. It only disappeared when I spoke out loud to my room mate asking her the time. It dematerialised very slowly and I was fully, lucidly wide awake when it did.

People can believe what they want. Perhaps it was a hallucination I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️ But it looked like a grey-white sketch (same style as op’s pic) of a Victorian maid working with her back to me by the place where a range would have been in a downstairs sitting room of a strange house I’d never slept in before.

I wasn’t in the least bit scared because strangely enough at the time I was convinced it was my friend who was sleeping on the other sofa and I was wondering wtf she was up to. It wasn’t her because she was fast asleep at the other end of the room!

So I do believe you op!

RoseLalique · 06/04/2020 10:22

🤣🤣 Lola!!

OlaEliza · 06/04/2020 10:49

Could it be someone that jumped from the balcony?

GinnyStrupac · 06/04/2020 13:19

I can see both sides about this, as opposed to the other side. Wink

By that, I mean that I am very sceptical and don't want to believe, but largely because of unexplained and unsettling experiences, including in a very old cottage we were in for a time, (which were scary), and more recently here following the death of a family member, (not scary), I remain openminded.

Tp93 · 06/04/2020 14:54

@Emeeno1 I wasn't going to stay around to ask him or invite him in for a cuppa and chat

Tp93 · 06/04/2020 15:02

@OlaEliza it would be a pretty big jump then 😂 it's a two storey house!

He was gazing at the sky then I said something I can't remember now it could have been what the f is that or something along those lines then he slowly turned to me and was staring at me.
I'm too chicken to go back outside at night now, plus the neighbour is home now so it would seem strange to ask her if I can come back to take a picture as we aren't friends, we are just friendly neighbours 🤣

Ooooh! That’s creepy 😬

I live in an old UK city with loads of churches and medieval buildings. My friend is a photographer and a few years ago went around taking shots of various old buildings. One of them is of a church and in a window up high, there appears to be an old man dressed in old fashioned church/priest(?!) attire (think tall hat). He also had a long white beard. It was freaky!

TheArchSorcererofContwaraburg · 06/04/2020 19:44

AWESOME! I love a ghostie thread.

GreyGardens88 · 06/04/2020 19:56

Ghost photos are always shitty quality pictures that could be reflections, trick of the light, smudges on glass anything. We are surrounded by HD video globally and not one instance of anything convincing being caught on camera

Why not set up a camera overnight on the veranda and see what it shows?

CarolinaPink · 06/04/2020 22:58

OP, did you show the photo to your neighbour? If so, what did she say?
