Ghost in house

So I was house sitting tonight by myself just to feed the person's fish and leave. They have "joked" about seeing a ghost who stands in the corner of their verandah outside (I'm in Australia) and to my surprise I see him standing right fucking there!!! He was facing towards the sky then slowly turned to me and just started staring at me I never looked away from him but had my phone in my hand and quickly took this. Anyway, to not identify myself or show the persons hoise contents, I have zoomed in the photo.
The front door to leave was behind me so I just walked backwards to the door not taking my eyes off of him and he continued to look at me then as I put my hand on the door handle he vanished! Completely shocked right now I don't think I'll sleep. And yes i was alone and no one else came with me!

Can I ask what he was wearing? Because to me his head looks small and his clothes/body huge. Like he's wearing a massive plaid jacket.

It looks like the reflection of a coat hanging up inside to me.

To me it looked like he was wearing a flannel shirt I can't be certain though I wasn't really anazlying anything I was trying not to make sudden movements I don't know why 🤣
But he had a longish beard goatee kind that is what I know

Wow I love this! What an amazing experience! I personally don't think the shape in on the glass, it is definitely behind it.

Ive been researching the house online but nothing is coming up about the house. The owners have only been there for about 4 years so not sure if they will know the history of the house if any.

@Yorkshirelass04 I'm sure I will think of this as an experience later! I'm just glad he didn't try and scare me of her than the continuous stare down we had!

I think if there wasn't a red light then the 'head' would look the same as the rest. It's only just dirty smeared glass

I love horror movies etc but I'm quite sceptical about actual ghosts. I wish it was a dirty window or whatever but I know what I saw. If I saw this thread I would have thought the same thing 🙂

I believe in ghosts, but I’m not convinced at this. When your dh goes, get him to take another picture.

If the owners see this every night, I'd bet it's down to dirty glass or a light reflection.

It looks like smeared glass to me. If it is a ghost and not a smear, there is a ghost of Zippy's head or a triffid or something behind him.

There's no convincing those who said it's a smear really so I'm not going to try and convince others. I know what I saw, i watched him turn to me and also vanish as I touched the door handle to leave. That's all believe what you want 😁

Looks like marks on the glass to me. Could it be condensation between double glazed panels? Just a thought.

It looks to me that something is casting some light on either the door or whatever is directly outside the door. As you move, what you are looking at also seems to move.

Its literally just a trick of the light.

I do a lot of night driving and have lost count of the 'people ' I have seen on my journeys. I could describe them in good detail - type of clothes and approximate ages etc.

In every case it has been a trick of the light - making a bush or a post or whatever look so very like a human figure that I could swear it was real But it never was.
