To think it's Leavers

Who are dancing on doorsteps, clapping for everyone and their dog, having one-minute-silences for people they've never heard of, inventing #stupid #hashtags, and unquestioningly surrendering themselves to governmental decrees?

OP posts:
Paulolina · 04/04/2020 08:42

What?

Justkeeprollingalong · 04/04/2020 08:43

Yes

Redglitter · 04/04/2020 08:43

🙄

beautifulteeth · 04/04/2020 08:44

Oh do fuck off with your Brexit talking political absolute fucking bullshit.

Your comments are batshit

This is a global crisis. I repeat global.

Absolutely fuck all to do with who does what whether they voted leave or remain.

Seriously. I hate mumsnet sometimes because of bollocks posted like this.

HotelBravo · 04/04/2020 08:44

It's leavers who don't blindly accept authoritarian rule.

cavabiensepasser · 04/04/2020 08:44

AIBU to think it's Brexiteers who are asking idiotic questions and thus exposing their idiocy?

AliciaJohnson · 04/04/2020 08:44

I'm just wondering if there's a link between sheep-like Covid behaviour and being a Brexiteer, Paulolina.

OP posts:
CaptainMyCaptain · 04/04/2020 08:44

I'm a Remainer and I think that's nonsense.

prisonofficersareimportanttoo · 04/04/2020 08:45

Nope. I voted leave and the people I know who are joining in are the attention seeking ‘look at me’ types who attend a&e with a common cold or paper cut.

It’s virtue signalling at its worst, an ‘I support them more than you’ competition that quite frankly I cba to join in with.

blackcat86 · 04/04/2020 08:45

Not sure WTF the virus has to do with Brexit? I've seen a whole range of people showing their appreciation for key workers regardless of how they voted.

Lindy2 · 04/04/2020 08:47

You're turning how different people deal with a global pandemic into a Brexit issue? That's absolutely bonkers.

If dancing, clapping or whatever helps people cope and feel better then they are very welcome to get on with it, as far as I'm concerned. It does no harm.

MyHipsDontLieUnfortunately · 04/04/2020 08:47

YABU. There's nothing superior about lacking empathy so get off your high horse. I'm a remainer, HTH.

AliciaJohnson · 04/04/2020 08:47

I hate Mumsnet at the moment because I'm so sick of people berating others for doing things that create no Covid risk at all, and for being sanctimonious about it.

I'm a leaver and absolutely despise the sheep-like lockdown culture.

CircleofWillis · 04/04/2020 08:48

Nope, I'm a remainer and have been clapping and shouting loudly for my sister, my sister in law, my cousin my niece, my brother, my friends and my neighbors who are all key-workers. Most of my street and the surrounding streets are out as well and we are in a dense remainer area of London.

Leflic · 04/04/2020 08:51

Why?

Miriel · 04/04/2020 08:52

No. I voted Leave and find all the clapping and dancing ridiculous, and the social pressure/shaming some people who don't join in are reporting quite concerning.

Likewise with the authoritarian types parroting 'masks don't work' who will likely immediately switch to 'masks save lives' just as soon as the government tells them to wear one.

Macncheeseballs · 04/04/2020 08:54

I've done the clapping but not the other stuff you mention. Does that make me a sheep? Oh and I am a remainer so not sure your theory holds Hmm

Toilenstripes · 04/04/2020 08:54

People are fighting for their lives. Others will die alone. My FIl has died from Covid 19, alone. You can fuck off to the far side of fuck.

MarginalGain · 04/04/2020 08:55

I see quite a lot of parallels between the Imperial model/Nial Ferguson and the CBI. Both carry the weight of the establishment, anyone who questions them or points out alternative theories is considered 'thick' and un-sciency.

nicknamehelp · 04/04/2020 08:57

The key workers I know really appreciate people coming out and clapping so I will continue to do it. Its also a chance to shout hello across the street to the neighbours. For once Im glad to be a sheep if that's what this makes me.

Mummyoflittledragon · 04/04/2020 08:57

Do what? I am a remainer. But I find your argument ridiculous!

PicsInRed · 04/04/2020 08:58

Watching Facebook, it's climate change activists who've become most "religious" about coronavirus measures. Not Brexiters, who would demographically be the majority of the key workers getting on with the job of keeping you fed, watered and your heating on. Hmm

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 04/04/2020 08:58

Following government instructions you mean, OP? Aren't you? What does that have to do with how people voted?

Or you just wanted to post a very goady post because, attention-seeking isn't just limited to dancing?

Says an enormous amount about posters who do this and I agree with 'BeautifulTeeth*, your post is batshit - as well as attention-seeking.
