To think it's Leavers

Who are dancing on doorsteps, clapping for everyone and their dog, having one-minute-silences for people they've never heard of, inventing #stupid #hashtags, and unquestioningly surrendering themselves to governmental decrees?

OP posts:
Shitsgettingcrazy · 04/04/2020 10:21

I dont get the comment about sheep.

I am a remainer. I know loads of remains that wanted to remain, but didnt really know why. The same as a lot of leavers.

There were people on sides that didnt really know what it was about and just following what most people they knew were doing.

I dont think leave or remain is relevant here at all.

But given leave was seen as more right wing and remain as left, I would have thought those cheering on the doorstep would more likely to be remainers. At a guess.

Trajectoryoflife · 04/04/2020 10:22

I’m a remainer. My best friend is a leaver. We’re both nurses. We both clapped.

Live and let live (while we still can)

There were/are idiots on both sides of Brexit. However, most people voted (one would hope) using reasons they believed, at that time, that would be most beneficial to them and their country. The name-calling and vitriol (again, on both sides) was horrific.

WHY would you use something like this virus (that is actually, amazingly, bringing a lot of communities together after Brexit), WHY would you use it in a post to try and bring more division? Just an innocent question, my arse

clareOclareO · 04/04/2020 11:28

I believe there are twats on both sides of Brexit/Remain.

Exactly. I voted leave but there is no way in hell I am going to make an idiot of myself by clapping out of the window and waking up the hard-working nurse trying to get some well-earned rest next door.

As for the OP's comment about Leavers "unquestioningly surrendering themselves to governmental decrees," I'd say that if that's true in this case, good! The implication is that Remainers are ignoring the advice to stay home, which perhaps explains why they were Remainers during the Brexit debate - "the elite tell us we should stay in the EU to protect their interests, therefore we must!"

BrooHaHa · 04/04/2020 11:30

Aww. I was hoping you were going to blame leavers for the coronavirus. I had the popcorn and everything. Sad

mummmy2017 · 04/04/2020 12:17

Don't you find it funny, people who blame Boris and everyone else are not staying home, and claim every excuse to do it their own way, which is putting their own families at risk.

iklboo · 04/04/2020 12:31

Yes. The virus has access to Secret Govmint Files on how everybody voted.

Northernwarrior · 04/04/2020 12:34

The fuck the NHS brexiteer types do seem to be the ones shouting loudest at how well they clapped and how well their street did.

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 04/04/2020 12:41

What a strange post...

YouTheCat · 04/04/2020 12:42

Mummy, that is horseshit.

I blame Boris for a lot of things because they are things he's done (or not done) and are fact - like not signing us up to the EU ventilator scheme. I can assure you, other than two trips to work, one trip to the shop and my daily safe walk, I have been in my house for 3 weeks.

Doobigetta · 04/04/2020 13:19

Nope. Every single person I’ve had to unfollow in Facebook this week because they’ve been endlessly virtue signalling and competitively isolating has had an EU flag in their profile photo. Every single one of them.

Mind you, my one Brexiteer friend has been messaging me all week about how this means the lizards have won and this is part of the global new world order plan.

iheartislesofwight · 04/04/2020 13:51

lockdown is really bringing the twats out with stupid threads and stupid comments.
it's a wonder leavers haven't been blamed for the start of covid as divine retribution or some other bull shit.

Tomorrowsanewday · 04/04/2020 13:58

Leavers???
People who have left?
People who don’t eat all their din dins?
Who are these leavers you speak of?

BillywigSting · 04/04/2020 14:00

Good grief what a batshit thread Confused

SuckingDieselFella · 04/04/2020 14:06

"Oh do fuck off with your Brexit talking political absolute fucking bullshit.

Your comments are batshit

This is a global crisis. I repeat global.

Absolutely fuck all to do with who does what whether they voted leave or remain."

This.

OP if you have too much time on your hands volunteer to help in your local community. This kind of stupid thinking isn't of use to anybody.

bellinisurge · 04/04/2020 19:50

Mummy, utter tripe.

sleepingpup · 04/04/2020 20:03

you're nasty OP

Wouldn't that be great and neat and tidy for you to neatly bundle up people into a 'type' that you could sneer down your nose at.

in fact you're just Saturday night bored by the sound of it and want to be nasty about someone

I'm a remainer
a clapper
and no, don't choose to "blindly follow governmental decrees"

go and do a quiz or something

mummmy2017 · 04/04/2020 20:03

Have you seen London, who voted Remain by masses.
Look at the pictures of the parks, exercise my foot.
The lady on here saying 6 adults have run to the family estate in Norfolk.

Eskarina1 · 04/04/2020 20:58

There is a distinction between criticising the government and refusing to follow rules that are put in place to keep everyone safe. Yes, there might be better ways of doing things (like testing) but we are not doing those things, so following lockdown rules isn't about sheep like obedience it's about understanding the impact of individual behaviour on everyone else.

I votes remain. I am also nearer climate activist than not, so maybe that's the link.

HotelBravo · 04/04/2020 22:05

Londoners were wilfully disobeying, calling corona the 'boomer remover' as a direct protest against brexit, and the conservative majority.
That's why we have had to lock down so hard, because of Londoners.

JassyRadlett · 04/04/2020 22:14

Oh goody, it’s become a Londoner bashing thread. We haven’t had one of those in hours.

There were clearly no issues in Scarborough, Whitby, Bournemouth, Skegness, Brighton, practically every National Trust property in the land to the point they had to close the following day...

No, only London. Obviously.

mummmy2017 · 04/04/2020 22:23

I did also read North Wales was sending people away.
The police set up a road block.
