Are German nipples the worst?

I just learned the word for nipples in German is Brustwarzen

The literal translation is "breast warts"

Is this the worst direct translation or are there more out there?

Collective nouns - depends whether you consider the group as a single entity or a group of members - and so it can be singular or plural. Down to sense and preference - and if you have a house style to follow, check that. My company is very clear the company is a single entity which takes the singular.

Vögeln = birds in the accusative case
vögeln = to have sex (verb)

Well that's just mean for speakers of the language of the distinction can only be seen in writing!

BertieBotts I think it is probably Google settings as it is Gmail and Google docs etc. that are determinedly American.

It's probably your browser in that case. In Chrome it's under Settings > Advanced > Languages. My Gmail and google docs are in British English. :)

Arschkarte is more "drawing the short straw" not "getting the wrong end of the stick"

Oh my goodness thank you so much to everyone who has suggested language-learning resources - sorry it's taken me a week to come back to it! I'm going to have a look at a few different ones - I have no grounding in German at all. French is kind of school (old school!) level.

Die Arschkarte is the red card in football. Traditionally kept in the referee's back (= arse) pocket. So says Wiki.

So you could say it's more like getting the shitty end of the stick.
