Richie Anderson on RADIO 2

Is getting on my last nerve.

They seem to be trying to put the spotlight on him and turn him into a big ‘personality’ and it’s pushing me more and more often to Radio 4 until he’s safely out of the way.

He’s an over excitable twit basking in his new found fame just a little bit too much for my liking. His Brummie accent has been coming out much more strongly lately too. He’s hamming it up and trying to create a niche persona for himself.

I'm so glad everyone dislikes Sarah Jarvis. All this time I thought it was just me.

I don't like Gary Davies either, Showy. Amazed to see the love for him on this thread. I have to turn him off after approx 30 seconds.

I could not give a bugger about anyone's accent, but when they ramp it up as a "oooh look at me i am so

Gary is so bland. It's like some forgettable bloke from the pub with a comedy tie having a go at hospital radio. He seems perfectly pleasant but I don't enjoy his djing skills.

I like Sarah Jarvis BTW.

I really like Rylan, I didnt expect to.
I really dont like listening to zoe and I really thought I would!
I tolerate jeremy vine as I like the phone in format and I like dermot o Leary. Quite like vanessa feltz if I'm on an early drive. I enjoy her word of the day (yes I am old and boring). Love sara cox, she has warmth and wit.
Steve Wright and zoe need to go tho, otherwise radio 2 will keep losing listeners.
I even resorted to radio 1 the other day, greg james was actually really good!

Gary is a lot more nasal than I remember him being in the 80s.

I dont mind Amol as he is less frenetic than Zoe

Have you noticed how he's started muscling in on Pop Master.
That's Ken's domain so back off! His naked ambition is so irritating. Hate it when he says ' time to put the kettoo (kettle) on', just before Pop Master starts.

Am sad to hear this. Ken Bruce's Pop Master should be absolutely off limits. Also absolutely love Liza Tarbuck, she makes me chuckle!! Sara Cox is a goodie too. I avoid are Jeremy's slot (and Chris Evans when he used to do it). Atrocious ego's with very little pizazz and lacking a sense of interest towards the real world they are broadcasting to.

I agree. I can't stand Richie Anderson. He thinks he's the DJ and desperately tries to emulate Ken Bruce. He tries way too hard. I would go on the running-machine at 10:30 for pop master - but now I don't bother - he simply irritates me too much. My mother also feels the same way, she won't listen to Ken anymore. Get rid of Richie!

He can be rather annoying at times, I saw this morning he’d posted ‘dance’ video via R2 social media to celebrate Strictly being back on the TV, he’s absolutely desperate to be noticed for next year’s show for sure.

The other thing, and it’s been mentioned before on here is that he seems to have this obsession with name checking himself all the time for example ‘Trucker Bill has just called in and said Richie, the traffic on the M6 is really busy at Junction 15’ or ‘Shirley has just called to say Richie, the M1 is solid for 3 miles.....’

I don’t hear Bobbi, Jules or Sally feeling the need to get their name into every single bulletin. It just screams of ‘me, me,me.’ and wanting to be the centre of attention.

I find him really irritating & had to stop listening to R2. He's on the One Show now. Def trying to become a personality!

I also hate the baseless sycophancy surrounding him. What’s he done to make everyone seemingly worship him? My money is on the bet that they’re lining him up to replace Ken so want the nation to warm to him first. Bollocks we will!

I think Ken has his measure. Richie sadly doesn't have the wit or sharpness of Lynn Bowled and Ken is good at highlighting that

I love Liza Tarbuck, she’s nuts. Like a female Alan Partridge. My friend did some work at her house a couple of years ago and he always said she was lovely.
I like Vanessa too on the early morning slot.

Liza Tarbuck reminds me of the mad auntie.😆

The songs she plays are a real mix but it works with her.

Ken sent me a birthday video message on my 40th because my friend worked with him ❤❤❤

I really can’t stand Richie either. Ken was one of the few DJs I never had to turn off, but I do now when Richie is on. I also get the sense that Ken is as much naffed off with him as us though.

C’mon Ken. Do what you need to do, to get rid.

Zoe is absolutely dire. An athletic leap for the off button if I’ve accidentally tuned in.

how odd to see this again....when only this morning I heard Zoe Ball whiffling on about a NEW BIG THING in line for Richie, only it's secret atm

She did suggest the One Show and he denied it.... time will tell.

Zoe and Ritchie are both irritating. He's trying to be the next big thing and if I hear her say It love him/her/it' once more I might scream. She loves everything!!!!!

If they give Richie his own show, then I won't listen. I can barely tolerate him as a sidekick. The traffic report is my cue to stop work and make a cuppa or hang out my washing.

Can the Controller of BBC Radio please understand that Radio 2 is NOT Radio 1?
It’s for a very different demographic (in general, of course, with odd exceptions) and I for one am sick of them messing the fuck about with it to suit whatever is the political agenda in any given week.

Rylan is not the new Terry Wogan. If you ever found another Wogan prepare to count your billions because he was the Holy Grail of Radio for listeners.

Ken Bruce is the anchor to the whole ethos of Radio 2 for me, now. He shouldn’t have that idiot Richie inflicted upon him, let him do his career climbing somewhere else, just so the Beeb can tick the Brummie box!

I hate loathe and detest the Jeremy Vine programme. I really resent the day being interrupted by expanded bad news telling and gammon alerts, while Vine earns a fucking fortune for ‘insightful interjections’... my elbow..

Zoe Ball is appalling, wouldn’t have got through radio training back when you had to know how to speak on the radio, where to breathe, how to pace an announcement etc. She sounds as if she is trying to be a teenager with her breathless gasping and over annunciation.

Sara Cox, her warmth as a broadcaster makes her accent unnoticeable after a while. She would be better at Breakfast.

As Simon Mayo wouldn’t come back. I would love to see Johnnie Walker back on Drivetime, but I know that’s a pipe dream.

So, Ken Bruce should do ten hours a day, with his own choice of traffic announcer and as many rounds of Popmaster as he can squeeze in. 😀
