Is getting on my last nerve.

They seem to be trying to put the spotlight on him and turn him into a big ‘personality’ and it’s pushing me more and more often to Radio 4 until he’s safely out of the way.

He’s an over excitable twit basking in his new found fame just a little bit too much for my liking. His Brummie accent has been coming out much more strongly lately too. He’s hamming it up and trying to create a niche persona for himself.

I’m so glad I found this thread. I have felt like I am the only person who wonders how on earth Richie got this gig. I can’t bear the way he over-involves himself with any sleb guests. He’s a fawning cliché. Zoe is a smart woman so it amazes me that she not only has him on the show but also encourages his nonsense.

I’m not a huge Ken Bruce fan either but it does make me laugh when you can almost hear tge withering look Ken is undoubtedly giving Richie 😂

I’d like to see Fearne or Rylan for the breakfast show & Gary Davies for the rest of the morning. Don’t mind Steve Wright & I love Sara Cox. She’s such a natural for radio.

Thank god I've found this safe place to unload; can't stand the little obsequious toad! That was the final nail in the coffin for R2 Breakfast show for me and we jumped ship to Virgin for Chris Evans and then come back at 10am. Ken's barely disguised disdain for Richie is the only thing that makes him bearable for 2 hours. 😂

Really would have loved Sara for the Breakfast show as I think she's much more of a morning person than Zoe (they would have been better switched) but at least this way I can listen to Evans in the morning and Cox in the afternoon.

I listen when I’m driving to work, mornings it’s Zoe after a bit of Vanessa - sorry don’t like her on radio. Ritchie doesn’t bother me but I found dermot really mumbly when I last heard him, I couldn’t understand some of the things he said but wasn’t on for long as roads so quiet I was at work really early. And on back shift it’s ken Bruce who I really like but really don’t like Jeremy vine his show is very negative I don’t know I guess we all like different things, I do like Sara cox and no Whiley listen to them a lot more but northern accents are nice, southern too my mum lives in Norwich & I’m from the north of Scotland

I find Sarah Jarvis unbearably smug and patronising so having her on all the bloody time at the moment is a challenge. However, I realise it's helpful for many people to have her on right now so I'm tolerating her.

Another Richie disliker here, though Sally Traffic is worse - she constantly sounds piddled and gets her motorway junctions wrong which is infuriating if you're in the area.

I can't stand Ritchie! I used to listen to Ken every day, but lately I've only been listening occasionally, he annoys me so much. From the offset it was obvious that he was seeing his slot as a springboard to higher things, I just wish he'd take off and leave Ken and me alone!

And his traffic reports are dreadful, he'll say things like "the A1 is closed between Bridge Street and Smith Lane", but not even say which county he's talking about. As if everyone driving knows the names of all the side roads.

I really miss Lynn, her gentle banter with Ken was just perfect, they both have the air of finding life faintly ridiculous which entertains me hugely. Terry was the king of that of course, and Graham Norton does it well too, but most of the other presenters just irritate me, it's all about them.

I am sure that Jeremy Vine fancies Sarah Jarvis who looks even scarier with her phone interviews rather than a proper camera crew , a face for radio as they say !
