gawd .. we all have children you know, I think our ability to deal with whinging is used up there

I can think of a number of 'newcomers' who hit the ground running and almost immediately gained 'oldie' status .. Boco and LittleLapin immediately spring to mind but I know there are more

They came on the site articulate, intelligent, empathetic, amusing and slightly sarcastic

that's what mn is about

we don't tend to be tabloid

either you like it here or you don't .. but you're adults .. grow up and join in and quit farkin' whinging

I don't whine
Good point though Twiglett, it's getting a bit pathetic, no?

Hmmm A post by an opinionated oldie!

I used to come on mumsnet and feel like I was being educated and I loved it. Now sometimes I feel slightly soiled. But sadly I have no idea how to start a superb thread.

Well said, Twig.

yes ffs

if you don't like it no-one is making you stay! Why hang around if it does nothing for you?

It doesn't have to be a superb thread, and you don't have to start it. Just join in, go with the flow and have fun

"articulate, intelligent, empathetic, amusing and slightly sarcastic"

Maybe we should devise a test for newbies in each of these categories.

If they fail we can have them banned
or electrocuted (can you do that tech?)

Can I just say the thing I love about mumsnetters most (well the ones I like) is that they are not nicey nicey nice

Yanbu! I'm a relative newbie and in the beginging i kept to 'safe' threads and didn't start any of my own. I can't see their problem - if you don't like it,don't log on! Easy!

Not very articulate,or amusing either but so what? Why do people worry about being judged by faceless strangers?

ProjectIcarusinhercar · 11/09/2007 14:51

What is the classificaton for oldie versus newbie anyway? Is there a grading system?
