Neighbours have friends round

Why are people so stupid?! I’ve seen posts about reporting to the police but can they do anything if it’s in their own home? There’s only 2 people round.

OP posts:
FanjoleenaJolly · 29/03/2020 00:10

This thread is just 4 pages long so far, the percentage of ignorant fuckers on it illustrates exactly why the virus is spreading like wildfire.

Which bit of 'stay at home unless you are travelling to essential work, shopping for necessities or medication, taking one period of exercise per day' do you not get???

Bunch of fucking assholes.

Nicknacky · 29/03/2020 00:12

Who exactly are the “Bunch of fucking arseholes?”

No one has agreed with what these people are doing.

Opendraw · 29/03/2020 00:14

@DowntownAbby just said the same thing myself complete double standards.

Icanflyhigh · 29/03/2020 00:19

It is so frustrating. The people opposite us had their daughter and son in law round earlier with all the kids. They are in their late 60s I would say and he has cancer.
I had to explain to our three DCs why they too couldn't go and play on the park that they can see from their bedroom window, and ride around with the other kids outside on their bikes :-(

Just wish folk would listen and pay attention to how serious it is.

Duck90 · 29/03/2020 00:20

what are you actually talking about?

You told me how you expect a response to the op should be. I’m asking you to stop policing that.

Basically, are you in charge of this thread?

I responded to your unnecessary/unrelated comment.

Nicknacky · 29/03/2020 00:22

duck I think you must be confused.

Gwenhwyfar · 29/03/2020 00:22

If mine have visitors it impacts me because we share a front door so the handle and door might be contaminated.
I wouldn't report them though. There are worse things going on in my neighbourhood.

crimsonlake · 29/03/2020 00:30

Same here on both sides of me, infact neighbour have been looking after young grandchild the same as usual all weekend.
Some people are idiots,

Duck90 · 29/03/2020 00:31

think you must be confused.
Nope you are being argumentative and antagonistic., and seem to focusing on a comment I made, that wasn’t involving you
I hope you manage to destress. I will walk away from this conversation because your comments are totally unrelated to thread and derailing it from the Op.

Nicknacky · 29/03/2020 00:34

duck How is it derailing an antagonist? My comments are direct related to the law related to the situation that the op finds herself in.

I have barely replied to you.

Duck90 · 29/03/2020 00:43

Op. Your neighbour is not going by the rules. It was said. No outside households to mix. I don’t think I would report, but I expect our restrictions will be stronger because people are not listening.

MyShinyWhiteTeeth · 29/03/2020 00:46

The three idiots next door to me have all been away but came home earlier to wash clothes and then drove off for a while and are now back with alcohol and loud music. I know they have two bedrooms but seem to have at least extra three people living there now. They've just now driven off in their car/s. They are early thirties and seem to have been partying all week. They just don't care.

GatoradeMeBitch · 29/03/2020 00:49

Judge not......

"Infect not, lest your loved ones end up dying" might be more appropriate.

Furries · 29/03/2020 02:16

It’s really simple. You don’t mix with other households.

That’s it - you don’t mix with other households. Definitely report it. I’m not a curtain twitcher for the “they’ve had two walks a day” kind of thing. But the guidance (and repeated adverts on tv) say do not mix/visit with friends and family outside your household.

Totally shit situation for everyone - being made worse by situations like this.

Looks like you should report

Hannah888 · 29/03/2020 02:48

@Regina.I think you need to read the legislation a gain. Households should not be mixing. How difficult is that to grasp?

PhilCornwall1 · 29/03/2020 04:40

I know I need to try ignore this I just question how many people are ignoring the advice which is putting others at risk

Over the last couple of days, a fair few around where I am.

Blueblackrose · 29/03/2020 05:50

Is anyone finding it is the older generation aka the most a risk who seem to be being the most laise faire? My neighbours are doing this - I keep seeing their daughters car parked outside and the grandkids playing in the garden. My parents (70s) are telling me about their friends who are still going to visit their grandkids houses.

It's not right. Some people just think as it's family or people they know that it is okay. I think the g'ment need to call it out specifically.

SpringCrow · 29/03/2020 06:28

Near-neighbours had four visitors in a row yesterday evening, all dropped off by waiting taxi cabs - the visitors went in the house, came out with little baggies, back in the marked cab, off they go.

Drug dealing.

Why the taxi drivers are colluding in this, I don't know.

Interestingly the dealing started the minute the 'lockdown' came into effect and their probation officers stopped visiting (used to be daily).

crazycadetmum · 29/03/2020 07:54

There may be genuine reason why they have visitors. My son will be released from prison next week and is being collected by his girlfriend and brought to our home. Technically I will have visitors but he has to go somewhere and certainly won’t be allowed to stay where he is! What should I do..should I warn the neighbours so they don’t report me!

Greenpop21 · 29/03/2020 09:21

@SpringCrow have you told the police?

Alsohuman · 29/03/2020 10:46

Why the taxi drivers are colluding in this, I don't know

Money.

Greenpop21 · 29/03/2020 12:09

As are you op. You know this is happening and so you could report
A- your neighbour
B-taxi driver

Greenpop21 · 29/03/2020 12:10

Not op, @SpringCrow

Reginabambina · 29/03/2020 12:13

@Hannah888 there is a big difference between should not a can not. It’s called the law.
