Boots... is this a sick joke?

Not only are all the shops shut (which is perfectly acceptable) and they are all now closing down online... there are now hour long queue's to get on to websites!!!

Does anyone know if boots are still open? I am starting to get low on my DC eczema cream and I can't even get on the website to see if it they have it in stock let alone order a bottle! 😩

Isn’t there already a thread on this?

Boots are an essential retailer so are still open. If you scroll down on that page, you can access the store locator with opening times

Springtime003 · 27/03/2020 21:09

They are open if they have a pharmacy. I went in but also managed to order online after a few hours wait to get on the website I managed to get everything .

ItsAllTheDramaMickIJustLoveIt · 27/03/2020 21:09

I’m pretty sure Boots will remain open as it’s a pharmacy but plenty of online stores have a queuing system right now as they’re so busy.

Roweeeeena · 27/03/2020 21:10

Our local boots was open today when I went to their pharmacy bit. The aisles with make up and bits like that were cordoned off. It was very very quiet in store with good distancing measures in place.

whiplashy · 27/03/2020 21:10

chemists haven’t shut OP

Sirzy · 27/03/2020 21:10

Better to limit access to the website like that than to have it constantly crashing due to it not being able to cope with demand

Boots are open if they have a pharmacy inside

RNBrie · 27/03/2020 21:11

It’s not a sick joke it’s just that websites are overwhelmed with the number of people trying to buy online. A queuing system prevents servers being overloaded and taking the whole site offline. Websites were never built to support the number of people needing them now. There is probably a tech team at boots who will get no sleep this weekend trying to fix it.

LettuceP · 27/03/2020 21:11

Boots stores are still open as far as I know.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 27/03/2020 21:11

I don’t get the rage?! Confused it’s busy like everything at the moment. Why is it their fault?

crustycrab · 27/03/2020 21:11

You could go to any chemist as they are all still open

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 27/03/2020 21:12

Do you think you might be over reacting a bit?

DivGirl · 27/03/2020 21:12

I don't want to concern you but my friend has now been trying to get on the boots website for over 5 hours. It's a competition now because it took me 6 hours and 1 minute two days ago. I think she might beat me though.

Lockheart · 27/03/2020 21:16

When I went to Boots.com just now it showed me the normal website?

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 27/03/2020 21:17

To be fair you couldn't have picked a more peak hour for online shopping than a Friday night in a lockdown.

Try late night/first thing in the morning/early hours etc and I expect you'll have no problems!

TorkTorkBam · 27/03/2020 21:18

I work with people who have worked long long hours the last three weeks and weekends trying to keep websites up and running, stocks replenished and delivery systems operating so you can get your eczema cream.

What are you so busy doing that you can't wait in a virtual queue? You know you don't have to sit staring at your phone, right?

annamie · 27/03/2020 21:18

Why would Boots joke at a time like this, OP? Chemists are open.

BitchHazel · 27/03/2020 21:19

Still open if they have a pharmacy.

I don't know why you are so shocked/angry. People are limited now in when and where they can shop both online and in stores, it's not news, its been this way for nearly a fortnight.

It's not a joke, it's common sense. Without measures in place websites would crash and stores wouldn't cope with demand. If it's that vital you will wait.

TTTs · 27/03/2020 21:20

@ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets does it look like it? Iv been trying to get the cream for 2 weeks, it was out of stock in stores before lock down when I had cash, now iv got the money in my bank I can't get in the website!

Have had to stop using the cream on myself to save it for my DC as only have half a bottle left, its sold out on amazon and other websites to!

We don't get it from a chemist I have to buy it as no other cream works😩 I don't even have a computer to leave the website open for 6 hours!

Neolara · 27/03/2020 21:20

Don't know what you're after, but last week I bought a big cannister of epaderm on Amazon for not much more than the price of a prescription.

Idroppedthescrewinthetuna · 27/03/2020 21:20

Not boots fault at all! Look how many are waiting right now! 309000!

scrappydappydoo · 27/03/2020 21:22

I wouldn’t worry Boots website has always been crap. More than 2 people at a time and it can’t cope. Try Superdrug or another online chemist..

TTTs · 27/03/2020 21:22

@BuzzShitbagBobbly I will be setting a 3AM alarm! Hope to god it is in stock
