Not only are all the shops shut (which is perfectly acceptable) and they are all now closing down online... there are now hour long queue's to get on to websites!!!

Does anyone know if boots are still open? I am starting to get low on my DC eczema cream and I can't even get on the website to see if it they have it in stock let alone order a bottle! 😩

My Boots is pretty much pharmacy only now and on reduced hours. All of one of my DC's prescribed eczema creams and steroids and asthma treatments have been available. Have to queue up outside along with everyone else getting their prescriptions but these are strange times. Sometimes it takes a few trips as they have to order in stuff. Irritating, but I'd rather that DC got the medication needed.

They’re not seriously stopping shampoo and makeup sales ???

HyacynthBucket · 27/03/2020 22:59

i got this yesterday afternoon - nearly 250,000 people ahead of me in a virtual queue. I left the site up and came back some hours later to find I was about to get to the top of the list, and made my order. Amazing numbers of people, but why would anyone think it was a joke?

ginnybag · 27/03/2020 23:00

I'll swap you for Lloyds online pharmacy cancelling an order yesterday that I placed well over a week ago for one of DD's migraine meds.

Email was something like 'we're super busy so we're prioritising blah blah'

Mine has. I can understand the make up sales as some people touch the products to test the shade on their hand but I was a bit disappointed about the shampoo as I can't get it in my supermarket and it's one my DD uses for itchy scalp. However, I can also see that these stores want to protect their workers and may not have the staff to look after these other areas and their health and safety is more important than my DDs scalp so she'll just have to try using something else for the time being.

You know what, the stores that have cordoned off certain areas are possibly part of the explanation of why the website is so busy. Their customers are probably stocking up on the things they’re now unable to buy in store.
