Boots... is this a sick joke?

Not only are all the shops shut (which is perfectly acceptable) and they are all now closing down online... there are now hour long queue's to get on to websites!!!

Does anyone know if boots are still open? I am starting to get low on my DC eczema cream and I can't even get on the website to see if it they have it in stock let alone order a bottle! 😩

@TTTs what cream is it that you need?

Jenasaurus · 27/03/2020 21:24

Ii waited in the queue for Boots this morning for some paracetamol, I waited patiently for nearly 4 hours from 6am and then when I got in my system crashed and I lost connection, so gave up

HopeYouStepOnALego · 27/03/2020 21:24

I went to our local Boots today as the supermarket doesn't sell the shampoo and conditioner I use. Then found out they'd cordoned off the soap/shampoo/make up sections and you could only get to the pharmacy/medicines/hygiene products.

TTTs what cream do you need?
This has been going on overnight as well, there's another thread about it if you look.

I'm not sure what boots can be selling that is so popular...

Mumalu · 27/03/2020 21:25

Honestly I sat in this que for around an hour last night .. I've been trying for days to get on to boots to get vitamins and vapour pads nightmare but stores are open it's 2 in 2 out here

stressandmorestress · 27/03/2020 21:29

Boots are not shut. My mum works in boots and said there will not be shutting because of the pharmacy. I tried to get on the website a few times yesterday and was unable to. She said they aren't doing any store delivery's at the moment so it's possible they aren't doing home delivery's also. It's understandable at the moment. But you can still get what you need in store.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 27/03/2020 21:30

BuzzShitbagBobbly I will be setting a 3AM alarm! Hope to god it is in stock

Good luck! Hope you get what you need! Brew (for when you get up!)

TTTs · 27/03/2020 21:30

It is this one! I have just found some by typing in pharmacy after the name on google!!

So thanks all, if I hadn't of posted I never would of thought to do that!

I also needed shampoo and conditioner but I can wash my hair with soap if I have to! My poor DD has horrendous eczema if I don't use this cream daily x

This was just her store she was referring to so might be different where you are, but I just seen your photo OP and I suffer with eczema on my hands which looks similar to your photo and I just use hydrocortisone cream from Asda or boots which clears it up pretty quickly

ouch321 · 27/03/2020 21:34

Seems daft to stop you buying shampoo or soap at Boots. If the shop's open why try and control what you buy?!?

That means everyone has to go the supermarket for basic personal hygiene products.

Probably because they are working on skeleton staff in the stores to ensure people can get their medication. To keep selling non essentials would mean more staff needed to stock shelves and man tills

justasking111 · 27/03/2020 21:37

Waiting for prescription on Monday wandered around Boots, bought shampoo and other bits. Wonder why it is all cordoned off now.

TickledOnion · 27/03/2020 21:37

What cream is it? Someone might have some and could send it to you. Put a post on Facebook to see if anyone locally has some.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 27/03/2020 21:38

I went on at 4 this am OP and there was still a 45 minute wait.

I wish you luck though!

chipsandpeas · 27/03/2020 21:39

beware even if you do get on and place a order it may take ages to come

i placed a order last friday for non essentials and its not getting delivered til the 1st april

Absentwomen · 27/03/2020 21:41

Will your DC die without their cream?

If it's that essential, then go to a pharmacy. They're open.

ouch321 · 27/03/2020 21:42

Sirzy

Yes, but they have to be bought somewhere and if you have go to Tesco or whatnot to buy it, then equally Tesco have to have staff to stock those items and put them through the tills. It's the same concept no matter where they are sold.

Haveitheright · 27/03/2020 21:43

My Boots is open.
For what it’s worth I’m 👏🏻 For boots today. My prescription has been at my usual pharmacy for over a week & im told “ can’t get it”
Drove half demented to the boots the next town over. Queue -at a safe distance behind 14 other people whilst wanting to cry- finally get to hand my prescription over “ that will be 20 minuets”.
A browse around the eyeshadow & facenasks, quick look at hair conditioner later & all ready to collect. Amazing! I was all ready to curse them being open - I do still think they should rope it off and be pharmacy only- but I am very grateful they had my medication.

highghost “Why would they cordon off shampoo and make up. Are we not allowed to feel good during lockdown”

I really hope this is a joke post.

nowmorethanever · 27/03/2020 21:48

Will your DC die without their cream?

That's a mean comment. I don't have eczema but it's not hard to imagine that life would be fucking awful if you left it untreated.

MrEzraGoldberg · 27/03/2020 21:49

I started a thread on this is Chat - it was a surprise. Not least because I only wanted to check the price of something, had no intention of shopping online there!

They made the assumption that everyone visiting the site was there for shopping purposes.

MrEzraGoldberg · 27/03/2020 21:49

In Chat, I meant!
